Trump Leads in Arizona, but if There’s an Upset . . . [Trump was right!]
NRO ^ | March 22, 2016 | John Fund

Donald Trump was the clear favorite in today’s winner-take-all Arizona primary, even before the Brussels terrorist attacks. The immigration issue and the flood of early voters favors him, as does the fact that some of those early voters will have cast ballots for Marco Rubio before he dropped out last Tuesday night. If they had known Rubio would no longer be a candidate, many of those voters might have gone with Cruz.

But polls have been tricky and often erratic this year (think Michigan and the surprise win of Bernie Sanders). For example, the latest poll showing a 14 point Trump lead appears to oversample Phoenix voters (59 percent of state’s population vs. 73 percent of those polled). Trump outperfoms his statewide average in the Phoenix area. The Washington Post reports that “Cruz could definitely score an upset in Arizona.” If that happens or Cruz comes very close here will be the relevant factors, according to the Post.

Cruz has a superior ground game. Neutral observers say his team is a lot more organized than Trump. His state director elected many Republican members of the legislature.

It’s a closed primary, meaning only Republicans can vote. Trump has struggled in closed primaries.

Cruz has scored a bunch of late endorsements: Rep. Matt Salmon announced his support last night.

Cruz is still perceived as strong on border security.

>> Do NOT donate to any group raising money for Donald Trump <<

Huh? I thought he was supposed to be 100% self-funded.

Are you telling me that we’ve been lied to?

Trumps also made oddles of money to fund his election by the sales of hats and other emblems etc. Pacs are forming and formed.....but Trump wants to control the funds so that is why the poster said don’t donate to any except to Trumps site. But there are Pacs formed.

Also Trumps been “loaning” money for his run which he expects will be paid back in the general when he will be taking donations outright to fund his run against Hillary.

What did I say? Any group raising money for Donald Trump IS NOT raising money for him. The only donations which go to Donald Trump are those that some supporters send through his website so that they will stop sending checks to Trump Towers. He is 100% self funded.

Now go play somewhere else.

You are an idiot. The money for Trump’s campaign comes from him. Where else do you think it comes from. Have you ever run any kind of business? You do not and can not legally just move money from one thing to another. It has to be lent/borrowed.

And no, there are NO pacs formed for or by Donald Trump.

I’m sorry, I know it’s difficult to accept that your candidate takes millions of dollars from supporters, millionaires and super Pacs.

That’s like saying a vote for Ron Paul isn’t a vote for Hillary.

“I’ve given you the only available statistical data that measures the GOP candidates vs Clinton... you discount it as meaningless,”

For God's sake can the Cruz spindoctors please stop citing these ridiculous "push polls" regarding hypothetical matchups 7 months out from the general election?

At this point in 1980, such polls had Ronald Reagan 30 points behind an incumbent President.

That didn't end up working out to well for Carter, did it.

These polls are garbage. Everybody knows they're garbage. They're intended to be garbage. As they late Democratic Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan would say: "these polls are boob bait for bubbas"...

OK? Nobody's being fooled. Everybody (and I mean everybody) knows that these polls are intended to manipulate public opinion rather than measuring it.

As such, they amount to nothing but the most transparent, even clumsy propaganda.

In two words, such polls are reeking sh!t.

So there's no need to look silly by citing them and then having to be reminded what their sole purpose is.

It's just too good of a night for Trump to worry about the residual haters. In Arizona, Trump's opponents combined couldn't touch him!

And as everyone knows, due to the unique Mitt Romney factor which prevails in the Salt Lake state, Ted Cruz winning Utah tonight is, practically speaking, an outlier, and indeed is probably Cruz's last hurrah.

So let the Ted Cruz supporters enjoy their Utah victory tonight! As long as everyone's civil (and as long as those delusional push polls aren't touted) there won't be any need for acrimony tonight, because the entire GOP electorate knows what's up at this point:

It's all good, the writing is on the wall, and Donald Trump is going strong!

Go, Trump, Go!

Cruz is establishment because the establishment is helping him! See, he’s owned by them know!

Ted Cruz is Establishment because of the friggin' behavior he's engaged in in the last several weeks, if nothing else.

And the bottom line is, no matter what happens in Utah, Ted Cruz loses more ground to Donald Trump tonight...

Oh the ‘joys’ of early voting, especially during primaries.

Rubio voters — I could see them voting for him a year in advance if they had a chance to.

Polls are not “tricky”, they are rigged to give the result the pollster wants.

Tell me how Cruz had control over the actions of that PAC, as there are specific federal laws that prohibit coordination of any kind between candidates and PACs.
