NEW YORK — Donald Trump's support has surged and he is now running about even with Democrat Hillary Clinton among likely U.S. voters, a dramatic turnaround since he became the Republican party's presumptive presidential nominee, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Wednesday.
The results could signal a close fight between the two likely White House rivals as Americans make up their minds ahead of the Nov. 8 election to succeed Democratic President Barack Obama. As recently as last week, Clinton led Trump by around 13 points in the poll.
In the most recent survey, 41 percent of likely voters supported Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, and 40 percent backed Trump, with 19 percent not decided on either yet, according to the online poll of 1,289 people conducted from Friday to Tuesday. The poll had a credibility interval of about 3 percentage points.
The results reflect a big increase in support for Trump since he knocked out U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Ohio Governor John Kasich last week to become the last Republican in the White House race.

Amen! We live in N. California, and we learned months ago that daring to support Trump created “Hassels/Issues”!
One Jebe/GOPe neighbor avoids us like we carry a plague.
A Trump bumper sticker would be asking for a La Raza thug to vandalize our vehicles and us. A Trump yard sticker might end up with vandalism at us or our home.
So we will mail in our Trump ballots for the primary and general election.
Not gonna go there, but I do think they went from seriously over-polling Trump in early primaries to now seriously under-polling him as support coalesces.
I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t show continued upward strength, esp. in swing states.

My Ridgeline pickup was basically new during the last Presidential Election, and it magically ended up with some severe dings at waist level. One of our younger relatives said those were probably caused by liberals running a cart into my truck and tilting it up before the impact to cause severe dings. One such event put a severe dent above the right tail light, which was too small to be caused by another vehicle.

I can’t imagine the enormous pressure on Trump. Can you imagine losing to that thing.....
My expectation is similar. She is a historically weak candidate, almost difficult to imagine how she could have more negatives than she has.
The other reality is it is “fashionable” to be anti-Trump certain areas.
Trump’s supporters are a huge silent majority who do not wish to be hassled among friends, at work, or on Facebook by screeching leftist crybullies.
We simply smile, remain gracious, stay cool, and takes things in stride.
Just wait until everyone is in the privacy of the voting booth this November and we see Donald Trump win in a landslide.
