Sad news. Just received word that NYTexan passed away today. I believe it was a heart attack, but I don't have details yet.

I think that was before my time with all you good folks but sounds fitting. I sure want to do something! Mr. Pen and I loved ole John. Maybe laurenmarlowe can get somewhere with the brother tomorrow so we can at least send flowers or memorials, etc. So sad.
I just cannot believe it. We were just emailing a few weeks ago. I am just stunned.
Haven’t been here in a while, but wanted to express my sympathy for the family and friends.

Very sad. RIP.
Terribly sad news. At the one Texas Cowboy shoot I was able to attend a few years ago was FINALLY able to put a face and warm personality with the moniker.
IN fact MANY monikers with REAL LIVE people.
I was impressed with John’s overwhelming warmth and hospitality. He treated everyone as if they were royal guest. He made my pups Josy and Toby(FReeper dogs) very welcome and they responded in NOT tunneling out under his fence.He turned over his kitchen to those who were doing their thing. The Mom’s great margaritas.. the Mexican spread... the many offerings both liquid and solid.
His sense of humor was contagious and he was a very handsome man.
Thanks for letting us know Jim. We all know our time is coming. There will come that time when we are doing okay and then momentarily step into eternity. For all - We just never know exactly when and I honor those people who can be gentle in spirit - even in disagreement - for you will be missed. The others. .. well.. no more said.
I hope so. We have to figure out something.

John, you weren’t supposed to leave us so soon! Dear God, why did You have to call John home right at this moment in time?
Like MS.BEHAVIN, I won’t get to see sweet John again and I loved every minute spent with him. He loved making those frozen Margaritas for all of us, (terribly weak as they always were!)
Dearest Lord Jesus, You have one of our very best, so please hold him dear and tell him we miss him and that we’re praying for his sweet soul and for his family and for everyone whose heart needs healing.
