Live Election Report From Virginia

Posted on 11/07/2017 10:38:40 AM PST by SarahPalin2012

I just voted in SW Virginia. Rural area, goes usually about 58-42 for the good guys (or at least the less-evil guys). More cars than usual for off year elections but no real wait inside. This was about noon. I'd guess that it was half of 2016 (Trump), and about equal to when Cuccinelli lost a very close race without any establishment help in 2013 to McAuliffe. Although the Dems have an edge in VA now, I still think it is very winnable for Republicans. My hope is that we pull out a win in a close election. For those conservatives sitting out because Gillespie is kind of gutless, I know you won't listen but it still needs to be said. You are not helping.

I’m with you. Moved to Richmond in 1994, during the good days when it was solid red. Now, it’s just like the state I left: New York.

I already have my eyes set on some states out west. Time to take my conservative income and spend in a state that better reflects my values. Virginia, sadly, no longer does

That's right. It's all about the changing demographics across the country. Why all these states are turning very blue.

There is no reason what-so-ever to have a "diversity lottery" be a part of this country's immigration policy other than to change the demographics.

Virginia needs to split into two states... seriously.

Yeah!

They could call one of them "West Virginia"!

Corey Stewart would have done better...but, Gillespie gave it his all!! Sad!!!

Correction: Corey Stewart would have won hands down, but the GOPe made sure he never had the chance. Instead, they shoved their man in our faces and told us to like it or lump it.

Gillespie gave it his all? ROFL. He was as exciting a campaigner as warm dishwater. It's patently obvious that his biggest cheerleaders came from outside the Commonwealth; they knew him least.

The days of the GOPe handing sh!t sandwiches to "We the People" and telling us to vote for them is over. The revolution is underway.

Corey Stewart would have lost as well. VA is a solid blue state. Corey will probably get the chance to run against Kaine next year. It will be his turn in the barrel.

Well, two things are certain after tonight. One, Amazon’s new HQ won’t be in Virginia. Two, in 2018-2022, the snow in Northern Virginia won’t get plowed in a timely manner.

North Carolina is right behind Virginia, on the edge of turning blue permanently. The White Man Replacement Program has been an unqualified success.

Thanks for your wisdom, out-of-stater. We in the Commonwealth can watch out for ourselves, thank you very much.

No, he would not have. Virginia is no longer a competitive state for republicans. It is safe to say that it is a fairly solid shade of blue.

You did well to move. By my count, looks like the House of Delegates is tied or close to it.
