An Ohio lawmaker who routinely touted his Christian faith and anti-LGBT views has resigned after being caught having sex with a man in his office.

Wes Goodman, who is the Republican state legislator for Ohio, is married to a woman who is assistant director of an annual anti-abortion rally known as March for Life.

The right-wing legislator, who pushed “family values”, was reportedly witnessed having sex with a man inside his office who was not employed by the legislator.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the observer told Ohio House Chief of Staff Mike Dittoe what had happened on Tuesday afternoon. Mr Dittoe responded by telling House Speaker Republican Cliff Rosenberger who in turn met with Mr Goodman.

You’re still too generalizing to provide any call to repentance that is not uselessly empty.

And indeed your aloof disclaimer at the end seems to suggest that you WANT to not progress further.

Check your salvation hope if that’s the case. It might in fact be in philosophy! Not in a Savior! There’s no sweet “spot.” There IS a sweet SAVIOR.

Which is why the rednecks enter the kingdom of heaven before the philosophers do (to paraphrase my “redneck” Lord).

Oh, I’ve seen philosophy, and I’ve seen guts
And to the philosophers I say they’re nuts
Because when grace of God falls like rain
Those who drink it become young again.

Do you understand how the human immune system functions? I am not being facetious. You seem to think that the body is capable of resolving an infection without acquiring immunity to the pathogen. What exactly is the mechanism by which that occurs?

You failed to grasp the implications of my previous post, so let’s try a more direct approach. If homosexuality is indeed communicable, then where are all the gay people? This hypothetical gay pathogen has hitherto avoided detection by medical science. A disease that is highly contagious and unknown would be ubiquitous. Everyone who ever received a blood transfusion would have been exposed. Even if we assume that a pregnant woman would not expose her child in utero, transmission would still be possible during a natural birth. Consider the case of HPV. It’s transmission was not prevented by condoms and there was no testing protocol for males. As a consequence basically everyone has some form of HPV. 50% of all sexually active young people will contract an STD before the age of 25. 20% of high school girls have an STD. There are 20 million new STD infections every year. So why do homosexuals make up less than 4% of the population?

Well call me crazy, call me grandiose, call me whatever you want to call me, folks.

But evangelists could be doing this better. A LOT better.

But first they themselves need to be saved, at least to the point where they can understand what the “gays” are going through.

I even think a lot of the heat they traditionally caught was not even because of sins on their part, but because they embarrassed society. “We’re too good to have that kind of thing going on here!”

It showed up even as distorted views of the Old Testament mandates. Closet activity wasn’t penalized under law because it never gained the witnesses required to do it.

But look at a situation like that, and inevitably you will view a broken soul. One which was then “put back together wrong” by Satan.

It takes great quantities of grace to get such a person to loosen up to the point where Jesus can “put them back together right.” Now there still is the question of free will, by which a person could refuse every possible grace till the end. And that person then reaps a fate of damnation, since salvation wasn’t accepted. But there are also people who don’t progress as much as they could on earth after salvation, because the grace is not found to do that. As in the case of the sin against recognizing Jesus in the communion, “some are sick and others sleep.”

The churches of the first century had that kind of grace. Our modern religious institutions only see it fitfully, if at all. And it gives God a colossal headache to see us not even TRYING to put that back into practice. I’d rather even go to a snake handling church, if by virtue of its fervor it got the other things right.

But there may be other snakes that they can handle as well. And those snakes are snakes they cannot see because they are demonic snakes.

Now they shouldn’t be handled in vain, for the sake of vanity. God doesn’t like gratuitous tests. However, when a demonic snake is cast aside, for the sake of setting a sinner free, all heaven has a party over it.

God please make me into that kind of snake handler!!!

As soon as I see that someone majored in "politics and government" in college (regardless of political affiliation), I assume I'm dealing with a lightweight or a craven, power-hungry A-hole.

Hey, I resemble that remark!

Maybe this is a wrangle that doesn’t have to exist.

On the physical plane it’s probably impossible. There probably is no “gay bacterium” that bestows the wicked habit.

But on the spiritual plane, I humbly submit that johny might have a point. Many people who are into that practice point back to having been molested. It’s like getting jumped by a mob of demons which had been riding on the molester.

And spiritual hygiene in fact does matter. And can even overpower physical hazards.

As a random example but one I found noteworthy, at one point I went overseas on a “short term mission trip.” One day we all had “waffleburgers.” We disassembled them in order to reheat the patties, then put them back together and ate them. All with “unwashen hands.” Not a soul got food poisoning or any other ill effect.

If you were a redneck, I’d shake hands with you as a fellow redneck :-).

Jesus was born a humble redneck. I think those “iggorant” hick stick churches are often more up on God than the citified ones. Quirks and all.

back in the 40’s and 50’s they were known to hang out around around men’s public restrooms accosting young boys and drunks. Every police department in those days had to keep an eye open for the activity - strictly low life.

‘’’’I have an older black friend who’s lived a rough life in many bad areas. Had lots of friends end up in jail or dead. He described to me how a friend of his went into jail straight and after being raped in jail was only interested in men after getting out. Personally, that sounds like a virus to me.’’’’

Sexual desire is an urge which might be relieved is certain different ways and not all of these are natural.
A person using some ways over another gets used to it due to a pleasure associated with beating the urge.
That’s why the first sexual experience is important.
If the person’s first experience is homosex he would seek it further a kind like a Pavlovian dog.

Well, that might be oversimplifying it a bit. God has established SOME canons of social responsibility. But it doesn’t at all look like what most of our dear secular liberals come up with.
