And right now, it looks pretty bleak.

Because deep down the average smoker won't do anything. Maybe its guilt, maybe they want to be forced to quit, in any case they haven't yet fought back so far and they won't.

Anyways the game is over. The current restaurant ban will be followed by all the other major cities and then be done statewide. Its a done deal.

Smoke only permiates because it can be seen

This is the fundamental problem. Smokers have no sense of smell left. They believe that the only smoke that smells is what can be seen. They have no idea that it not only permeates the entire space, it can be smelled for days later.

You know it is kinda funny that none of you say anything to me when I am smoking at the pistol range.

Too bad you can't win public approval without your pistol.

Only a majority of the residents in each state need to vote for a constitutional amendment for it to be "right" under our current government.

Hardly. I think it's that people tend not to get "pushy" with someone who's armed. And who cares about "public approval" anyway? You?

You really have no clue what you are talking about, do you?

Did you take a gander at the links provided earlier in this thread. The complilation of that data, as well as a lot of the research was done by average smokers.

No it is not a pistol thing at all. I have noticed that when an anti-smoking NAZI realizes that the conversation is moving toward a confrontation between their ass and my boot the smoke quits bothering them.

99.9999% of the anti-smoking NAZIs are cowards who lose there resolve when the rubber hits the road.

Winning public approval is the goal of the weak and pitiful and I need no ones approval, damn sure not yours or your ilk.

So, you are basically an anarchist. Too bad this country is a republic.

How many proposed smoking bans garnered a significant protest ? How many recent tax raises were met by outraged smokers at the steps of the various states ?

FAce, it smokers are basically folks who go along to get along as long as they can have some access to their cigarette. It doesn't matter if they have to smoke in a blizzard or use the bulk of their paycheck to purchase them, They are just gratefull to be allowed to get their nick fix.

How about going to better equipped restaurants with HUGE SMOKER EATERS?

Smoker eaters. Would solve the problem quite nicely.

Smokers pay higher premiums now. Do those who own pets?

Pets are usually associated with longer life and less disease. Heavy smoking is not.

You might be considerate to your fellow non smoking shooter. Watery eyes don't improve aim.

How many proposed smoking bans garnered a significant protest ?

By far more than were ever acknowleged in the lame stream media. Ditto for tax increases.

As to the rest of your comments, making generalizations do nothing to further your opinions, as that is all it is - your opinion.

Smokers are everyday people, with jobs, and families and mortgages to pay. The people pushing for these smoking bans earn their livelihoods doing it.. The smokers do what they can do on their own time and own dime - no one is funding the fight against these bans - unlike the untold MILLIONS of dallrs being utilized to enact them.

Two of those well funded antis and one of their groups have recently been caught "with their pants down," so to speak in the local paper here in Delaware.

Stanton Glantz called the founder of one of the groups here a former tobacco lobbyist - which was a bald-faced lie.

Joe Cherner claimed to be from Delaware in a letter to the editor - not only does he not live in Delaware, last word has it he is actually living in France.

But the best came when cherner's organizations flood of emails and faxes to the Delaware legislature and media got called on it by both a non-smoking letter writer and the editors of the paper. Of nearly 600 sent, only 35 were from Delawareans, and on further inspection of the number falls to only 14 seperate individuals. All of those letters can be viewed from Cherner's group's website except for 3. Those 3 were pulled from the website because they didn't agree with the anti stance. But it was too late - they had already reached there mark - as was proven by the letter printed in the local paper.

The media, as a rule, has bought into the anti-smoker stance and so very little opposition is ever shown.

but don't for a minute believe that smokers don't do anything.

Personally, I'd prefer a pet to a whiny human any day, but talking strictly about risks pets are way up there, several times the risk posed by shs in even the most skewed studies.
