Get series about HEALTHY, and LOW CARB FOOD

This, and future threads, will attempt to answer some of your questions and requests regarding HEALTHY food in general, and LOW CARB, LOW CALORIE diets and recipes in particular.

With my background as a Master Chef, and Natural Foods Sexonutritionist, aka SexyChef  (/dreamer) Bwhahaahahahahah, it affords me a wonderful vantage point to assist in creating this forum, where everyone can contribute, exchange ideas and voice their valuable opinions. Moderating in no way qualifies me as an authority on this, or any other subject.*..heheheh ..that has never inhibited me before.. blush
* (a cheap unofficial GENERAL ESCAPE CLAUSE.. HA!)

There are many other FReepers, (you know who you are.. LOL) on this amazing site that have a great deal more detailed knowledge and information on specific topics, that will no doubt emerge. Sooooooo, lets get started..

This TRAIN IS LEAVING THE STATION... chew, chew

A piece of spicy (leftover) Tandoori chicken.

DH had a piece today and was licking his fingers afterwards. (I had ordered it medium, instead of hot!)

I make my own turkey sausage for a morning snack. Lots of red pepper, sage, garlic, thyme and a little nutmeg. A turkey pattie with a dollop of natural applesauce is a great morning snack. Low fat and low carb but more than satisfying.

Good evening carlo. Do you know anything about this product? (WheyLow sugar substitute)

It is supposed to have the same properties as sugar. I'm hoping to use it in homemade locarb ice cream.

Carlo, good man, you are a blessing as always. However if you don't add me to your low-carb ping list, I shall have to add YOU to my high protein diet.

LOL, let's go for it!

One of my favorites.........raw jicama spears and cucumber sticks drizzled with fresh lime juice and sprinkled with chile powder. Crunch, spice and flavor! And easy.

Now, really, how bad can an orange be for you? And a grilled beef tenderloin has to be better for you than a fat laden rib-eye.

My dear Chefess... I have to agree with you to a degree, but it appears that the strict regimen that has been researched over years, and under constant scrutiny, has somehow survived. They have won the argument with some rather impressive success stories, many are right here on this thread.

Their theory has so far been factually unchallenged, although I have heard a lot of doomsday scenarios, none as far as I can see has been documented. Given that fact, I must be fair in saying, why argue with success.. If it ain't broke, then why break it!!  LOLOL

A giant WELCOME ABOARD!!   Carlo

Okay, I'll take your challenge. Here is a "snack" I've had several times over this past summer:

I call them "jalapeno poppers" and they are hot if you aren't used to them. But I like hot. And they make me drink lots of water. Also, the capsaicin in the hot peppers help "speed up" your metabolism and has other positive effects on your body. Believe it or not, hot peppers like jalapenos are great for your digestive system.

Best of all - no carbs.

I don't *think* so.

It hasn't been nine months since we pledged our love for one another.

Not "NO" carbs. Jalepenos have trace amounts. .78 carbs per 15 slices, I saw, from a jar in the fridge.

It looks as though it should keep very well, even after opening, if it is kept refridgerated. Sounds wonderful!

That brining thing....recently when I've been lazy I've purchased some of those pipin' hot roasted chickens at the grocery store. They're very moist and tender and I suspect brined. I finally read the label on one the other day and yep it had sugar listed as an ingredient.

Now I don't know how much sugar but if one is really trying to cut out excess carbs this could be a hidden source.

Guess I'm back to realizing that if I want to know what goes into it... I better cook it.

I'm on day two of Atkins

Oh, I remember Day Two. Your glycogen reserves have just run out.

Tonight you will dream of large bowls of Frosted Flakes with bananas.
