The Church should appeal on the grounds that the Human Rights Tribunal is itself discriminating against the aliens by forcing human notions of rights on them, and also appeal on jurisdictional grounds by arguing that the Tribunal’s authority is restricted to cases of human rights and not alien ones.
Certainly this UFO cult is whacky, but what was this church thinking when it had to go outside itself to find counselors to deal with student emotional stress? Aren’t priests in the RCC trained to handle this? Aren’t there any lay Catholics who would weave their faith practices into their psychology? The whole thing sounds absurd and a lesson learned.
A church should have the right to descriminate in its own domain. Canada is going nuts.
Can we give up on the idea that Canada is some sort of an “enlightened” liberal democracy when it has these Star Chambers fining anyone who says anything Muslims, Jews, minorities (or space aliens) don’t like to hear?
