7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the Living Water that never runs dry. I thank You for the gift of Your Son. Forgive me, Lord and lead me anew each and every day in Your Will. Father, you know each and every concern here, spoken and unspoken. Guide our leaders today in Your Word. I ask that You lay the Holy Spirit on President Bush as he makes the decisions to protect this nation from the evil that has attacked. I lift up our nation that this might be a time for us to witness to those that might not otherwise know You. Let us be on our guard against invaders, but let us ever be mindful that not everyone that doesn't look like us is against us. Open the hearts and minds of those in our own borders that protest against this nation. Build a sense of patriotism in their hearts that they may join with us knowing that while no one wishes for war that it is sometimes necessary. Lead, guide, and protect us. In Christ's Holy Name. If it be Your Will, not ours that is done. Amen

FATHER GOD, LORD JESUS, BY YOUR SPIRIT MOVE DEEPLY IN US to individually as believers, as citizens and as a nation repent of all the ways we have missed your mark of perfection. . . . missed the bull's eye, sinned.

Please move in our hearts. Cause us to be drawn to you; drawn to your heart--washed and covered by Your Blood, filled with Your Spirit. Help us to be humbled with your brokenness, humility and compassion. Take from us our pride, self-sufficiency, lawless independence, murderous greed, ruthless vengeance and cold hard-heartedness. Kindle in us your Spirit of contrition, and submissive awe before The Father.

Father, Lord Jesus, take from all of us by your Spirit and by encouraging it as our choice to be rid of such destructive forces, attitudes and addictions.

Draw us to yourself as our Lord and Savior and Almighty God. Take from us all that pollutes, corrupts and destroys. Give us insights, dreams, visions, understanding that emphatically demonstrate to us our utter dependce on you for breath, food, health, work, resources, peace, protection, support, life.

Lord, PLEASE deliver us from ourselves before you have to deliver us to the corrupting, polluting evil we clutch with such a death grip--before you have to deliver us to the natural consequences of the worst in us.

Let your believers bow low before you before you have to knock us further flat at our own pride just to get our attention and save us from a worse fate. May your believers speak to those who don't know you in redemptive ways rather than in ways that encourage more pride, self-righteous hostility and vengeance.

Cause our President who acknowledges you as Lord and Savior from alcoholism and other sins--and others such as Ashcroft who knows you with significant intimacy--cause them to lead our nation in proper contrition, repentence and forgiveness. Cause them to lead us in return to a dependence on you before you have to show us experientially the natural consequences of we ourselves vainly working overtime at being our own gods.

Lord, this is not a popular thing to say, to pray. Give insight by Your Spirit that eyes and hearts may be opened before our unchecked rebellions against you cause more blood to be spilled.

Thank You Lord that You have confirmed what You've been placing in my heart with sermons in 100's of churches tomorrow saying essentially the same thing. But Father, I'd be more blessed if you confirmed it by causing millions of citizens to know deep in their hearts, in their minds, in their "knowers" the truth of what Your Spirit is calling us to before it's really too late.

Let us not harden our hearts unto arrogance and self-sufficiency even worse than before--as Israel did in Isaiah 10:13. Deliver us from ourselves that you may deliver us from our enemies.

Let your ministers tomorrow speak with bold compassion--particularly New York's special David Wilkerson. Strengthen his staff as they minister to so many families of so many victims. Let him and all the other ministers around our nationa nd around the world you have burdened with this message deliver it straightforwardly without wavering to the right or left.

Yes, Lord, please deal with our enemies and strengthen President Bush's hand and the hands of our allies to deal with the evil the enemy of our souls is trying to flood the world with before its time. But first deal with our values, our hearts to increasingly free your hand to deal with our enemies instead of having to use them to deal with our pride, rebellious independence and self-sufficiency away from you.

Cause us to repent of our violence against innocent children by the millions in our own land. Cause us to repent of our violence against you in our hearts and the 100's of ways we give you the finger day in and day out--deluding ourselves that we can do quite well on our own.

Cause us to choose to learn the unloveable more quickly and authentically before you have to show us more painfully, vividly, bloodily our own unloveableness. Bring the assembly lines of greedy death to a halt in clinics around the nation. Return the hearts of the mothers and fathers to their children less you smite the whole world with a terminal curse.

We are undone and hopeless, Father, Lord, Spirit--pulverized into oblivian as the concrete of the two towers--scattered as dirty choking dust for miles around upon the face of the earth--unless you rescue us from ourselves. . . unless you give us hearts of humility, hearts and deeds of repentance. Save us Lord. Save our land. Be our God in truth and not just in temporary emotions and temporary words. Be lastingly and eternally our God, Lord and Savior.

Thank you, Lord for warning your watchmen. Cause those who read and hear to read and hear with hearing hearts and understanding eyes and minds.

Father, I ask for a miracle--let there be not one flame or combative, contrary post in reply to this prayer. By your spirit touch all who read it and confirm in them tangibly whatever truth there is in it from your Heavenly perspective, priorities and purposes.

Yes, Lord, rout our enemies. But show us what we must do to free you to do so. Show us emphatically, vividly. Give us willing hearts and disciplined hearts to daily spiritual actions toward You, Lord, God.

Show us what we must do to escape worse calamities. Show us what we must do to learn to hear your voice, to hide under the shadow of your Almighty wings, to lean close on your breast. Show us what we must do to learn the lessons, get the message of the WTC disaster QUICKLY, DEEPLY, Lord.

Let us not be deluded by our ears that demand people pleasing, ear tickling, feel good clap trap that wraps a time bomb in tinsel and glittery tissue paper. We don't need gold guilded horse biscuits any more, Lord. We need You.

Lord, you know I'd rather have done a lot of other things tonight than write and share this prayer. But you bought my life with Your own Blood and I told you a long time ago you could spend me any way you wished. But let it not be in vain, Lord. Touch hearts in lasting ways by your Spirit with these poor words.

Being flamed personally is no longer any great consequence to me, Lord--as you know--my whole life is a series of flames. I just want to burn with YOUR brightness, YOUR illumining Light that You might bring others to yourself, Lord. . . and that they might not suffer as they will otherwise have to suffer.

Lord, there are many who call you Lord and God who treat you like a poor white trash shirt-tail relative, if as good. Please be merciful--give them dreams, visions, object lessons in their daily lives this week that they might wake up before it's too late. May you be lifted up and draw all men to your compassionate heart. Let your mercy triumph over justice in our nation, Lord. We cannot endure a fraction of the justice we have earned. Spare us, Lord, please spare us. . . not that we deserve it--but for your Glory.

Lord, I don't know why it comes out so long winded. Let parts not of you be ignored and forgotten. Let parts from you burn deep into people's consciousness, hearts, minds. Give them little peace or rest until they say YES! emphatically and lastingly to You, Oh Lord God.

And those that seek you, that turn to you; those who ask you to make yourself real to them that they might truly know you as real and as the only real and true Almighty God--give them abundant confirmation, Lord. Give them a vivid and undeniable response.

Amen! Thank You Father for all of our prayer warriors!

Lord Jesus,

We are such crazy critters as well you know.

Given gory horrific movies we make and attend evidently to laugh at. . . .

Given horrible stories and soap operas on TV that get resolved in minutes. . .

Given the perverse lengths we seem compelled to take denial and running away from reality, not to mention pain. . . .

It's a wonder we still think of the WTC these short days hence.

Lord Jesus, please touch your people that they live ever closer toward living in touch with your heart. Let them grow in the capacity, even boldness to stand up and be counted in their networks sharing your priorities and the life over death in the hearing of them, knowing them and living them--by your Grace.

Give our President Bush and all around Him who call you Lord uncommon knowledge, Wisdom, Compassion, Love, understanding and decisiveness--resolute decisiveness to do precisely and only but fully exactly what you would have them do. Make it clear to them and support them every way they might need several times over, please. We are so needy--we need you enormously in those ways and degrees Lord, God.

Neutralize the degractors from the enemy who would either nig pick him into shaving and sliding on what you have shown him or in being confused and turning more aside from it. Cause all such efforts around him or toward him to come quickly to naught and more--to fall back on those who sent them 10 times over to their hurt and the hurt of their evil causes.

Neutralize by Your Blood and Your Spirit all efforts against those who are praying for our land, for Your Church and for Your believers and those who need to Know you during these months and years ahead. Cause all such efforts to fall back on whatever spiritual or human forces would originate them. Cause each such effort to result in 100 additional people joining your Kingdom wholesale freed from the enemy's clutches. Cause also thereby a fitting similar number of demonic forces to be bound and set aside out of the battle for each effort to harrass or otherwise complicate the lives of those Loving you and praying earnestly for Your will to be done in this earth in this era.

Cause your People who call you by Name to Love you more; to Love others as themselves and to do unto others as they would have done unto them. Cause them increasingly to demonstrate their Love for one another dramtically overtly that the world may know we are yours.

Father, I realize that you have your reasons for using such blunt objects to get our attention. . . . that you want those perverse souls so determined to go their own rebellious ways to not get jerked into sanity--as hard as that is at times to understand given your Great heart of Love.

But Father, if at all possible, could we have some dramatic things more on the order of the electricity stunt in the sci fi THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL. So many millions seem willfully thickheaded enough they won't get it any other way. But, yes, your will be done. Just please remember, Father that we are such idiots. Please give us as many vivid attention getting events as you can--which don't result in such horrific death of so many innocents.

I realize we are so thickheaded as to seemingly willfully ignore anything less than the mass murder of innocents. . . . But Lord, you know we don't know our left hands from our right. You know our perspective is so flawed. You know we are so ignorant. It seems silly to expect else from us apart from Your Supernatural maturing, leading ,teaching. And if we your people are that way, God have mercy on those wandering around in utter spiritual darkness.

Please Father, give us as many super dramatic but not so harsh or cruel wake-up calls as you can before the overwhelming horror starts. So many are hanging so foolishly in the balance, Lord. They don't know. They really don't know and seemingly have few if any constructions within their brains allowing them much channel of a way to know.

I just want as many hurting and lost to know You and Your Love, Father. So many in so much pain already. How can they bear life apart from you down the road. Have mercy, God. Enable your Spirit to speak through us in anointed words and with signs following but mostly with Love that they might realize you are real and Love them--and are well able to care for them either in this life or enroute to the next.

Dear Quix...beautiful supplications for those of us like myself who a bit thick-headed. Thank you!

Father, I thank You for our brother or sister, Quix. We need plain speakers today, Lord...and people who are unafraid to make specific requests of you.

For Your Son said,"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in Heaven give good gifts to those who ask him?" (Matthew 7:7-11)

And so Father, we like little children bring all these requests to you...not just for ourselves, but for the entire world, so that all may know Your peace, gentleness, forgiveness, every great blessing which flows from Your hands. Thank You Father for this ever growing community of believers here in FreeRepublic. Allow us, Dear Father, to continue learning and growing together through shared troubles and joy. Allow us this continued forum, unfettered by the evil of the world...or the threats from people under the influence of satan. Guard us and keep FreeRepublic free, Mighty God, for the seeds planted here in these prayer threads go around the world. I believe this is a good service to FR and the U.S.A.

I believe that when we read a prayer and agree in our hearts with part of it and tell God so, maybe like "Yes, Lord, I agree--Amen--may it be so" that that adds umph to the prayer in proportion to our earnest agreement, willingness to assert to God our agreement and in proportion to our general faithfulness to Him.

The one putting 1,000 to flight; 2 putting 10,000 to flight etc. is the sort of thing that I think unity in prayer results in. Let us be mindful of that and apply it as we feel His Spirit leading us.
