Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler said that the Paraguay shower fall that knocked his teeth out and cut his face was caused by food poisoning not a drug relapse, in a TV interview Thursday. The veteran rocker, who has spoken openly about his drug and alcohol problems in the past, told NBC's "Today" show that he blacked out in an Asuncion hotel shower because he was suffering "Montezuma's revenge" not because he had fallen off the wagon. "Quite frankly I just passed out,"

Introductory note: On May 4, 2011 National Review Online published my article entitled “Post Abortion Trauma - Jesus What Have I Done” on Aerosmith front man and American Idol judge Steven Tyler’s abortion experience. Shortly after this I was contacted by Julia Holcomb. Julia is the mother of Steven’s Tyler’s aborted son referenced in my article. Julia and her husband Joseph expressed a desire to entrust to me a more detailed account of Julia’s relationship with Steven Tyler, her abortion and post-abortion life journey. Julia has read for many years Steven’s Tyler’s recollection and reconstruction of events from the years...

When Julia Holcomb was sixteen she and a friend contrived to meet - and seduce - Steve Tyler, the frontman of the multi-platinum-selling band Aerosmith, and now co-host of American Idol. Holcomb’s gambit was more successful than she could have imagined. She and Tyler met backstage after an Aerosmith show, and what followed was a passionate and drug-fuelled three-year relationship that nearly culminated in marriage, even though Holcomb was a full decade younger than the rock star. But the affair eventually spun out of control and ended explosively after Holcomb was pressured into aborting Tyler’s unborn child. The iconic photo...

Remember how Steven Tyler has been saying that Aerosmith would perform with James Durbin at the Idol finale? Well it looks like he's the only band member who wants to do that. The Boston Herald reports that the other members of Aerosmith don't want to do it because they'd rather wait to promote something for their band. Besides, the last time we saw Joe Perry was when he played with Sanjaya at the season 6 finale. How could you possibly top that? (Answer: You can't)

Long before he won accolades as an American Idol judge, Steven Tyler was a bona-fide rock star, with all that that implied. In 1975, when he was in his late 20s and the lead singer for the band Aerosmith, Tyler persuaded the parents of his 14-year-old girlfriend, Julia Holcomb, to make him her legal guardian so that they could live together in Boston. When Miss Holcomb and Tyler conceived a child, his longtime friend Ray Tabano convinced Tyler that abortion was the only solution. In the Aerosmith “autobiography,” Walk This Way (in which recollections by all the band members, and their...

The Tea Party scheduled for this Sunday afternoon July 25, on the historic Lexington Battle Green has been canceled. It's the only time in America, to our knowledge, that a Tea Party has been shut down by Republican activists. The organizers were forced to cancel the event by "Republicans" sympathetic to the homosexual movement and hostile to the parents' rights movement that exposes the taxpayer-supported homosexual agenda in the schools. The main speakers, prodded by a socially liberal Tea Party (and Republican) activist, announced that because Brian Camenker of MassResistance was also speaking, they would not participate. The cancellation was...

Joe Perry hinted the other day that Aerosmith might replace Steven Tyler after the lead singer said he was going to focus on "brand Tyler." If that was a tactic to get Tyler to commit to Aerosmith, it worked. Tyler was a surprise guest at the Joe Perry Project show at the Fillmore in New York last night. According to Rolling Stone online, Tyler reportedly came out and said that he wasn't leaving the band, adding "Joe Perry, you are a man of many colors. But I, (expletive), am the rainbow!” He then sang lead on "Walk This Way." Later,...

Courtesy of NME.com - Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has said that singer Steven Tyler has quit the band "as far as I can tell." Perry's comments follow those of rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford, who last week (November 6) said that Aerosmith are to hold crisis talks about their future after relations with Tyler became strained. Now Perry has confirmed that Tyler is unlikely to perform with the band again.

Aerosmith may be looking to replace frontman Steven Tyler, despite the band's 40th anniversary less than a year away. Tyler's possible departure is reportedly linked to the singer's focus on his solo career. The 61-year-old singer suffered a fall off the stage during a show in Abu Dhabi, which reportedly put strain on the band that had to cancel the rest of the tour. Aerosmith formed in 1970 and have released 14 albums. Among their most famous music includes 'Walk This Way,' 'Janie's Got a Gun,' and 'Dude

"I'm an advocate of gun rights," Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Joe Perry told G2 on Thursday at the Capitol Visitors Center, where he was appearing in support of Rock Stars of Science, an initiative to raise public awareness about health issues and to build support for setting scientific research as a national priority. "I think that guns have been a part of our heritage," said the lead guitarist for Aerosmith, wearing a platinum-and-diamond revolver-shaped necklace. "If we could start all over again, it would be great if there were no guns in the world," he continued. "It would...

Joe Perry, the legendary rock guitarist and co-founder (with Steven Tyler) of Aerosmith, was on Capitol Hill Thursday, where he met with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and performed onstage at a Rock Stars of Science conference promoting the health sciences and scientific research. Perry endorsed the Arizona Republican last fall in McCain's failed bid for the presidency, and he was very impressed with the senator when he met him Thursday. "I felt better about politics in general after meeting [McCain]," Perry told The Hill. "He's a war hero, and they're the most genuine heroes. Anyone who does what [soldiers in...

Unlike the John Mayer endorsement of Obama, this comes from the counterintuitive celebrity endorsements file. Joe Perry on McCain: “I’ve been a hardcore Republican my whole life,” he told the Herald. “My mother and father drilled into me from the very start that if you work hard and be positive, you’ll get what you’re working for. I guess I’m living proof of that.” Of criticism about McCain’s age, Perry said: “My mother’s in her 80s and she does aerobics. My manager’s 70 and he’s right there. That doesn’t bother me.” And despite lopsided polls, he urged his fans to get...

Republican John McCain's bid to become the next president of the United States has won the support of Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. The guitarist told the Boston Herald that he thought Mr McCain was better suited to solving threats to America's national security and its economic problems than rival Barack Obama. He also said he believed Mr McCain could still overhaul Mr Obama's lead in the polls. “I’m an optimist. It ain’t over till its over. I think that he’s got a chance,” he said. Perry's endorsement has come as a surprise, and goes against Aerosmith's usually non-political stance.

Aerosmith’s Joe Perry walks this way with John McCain By Dave Wedge Thursday, October 30, 2008 Aerosmith has generally left the politics to bands like U2 and the Dixie Chicks, but axeman Joe Perry says national security and economic woes have prompted him to split from the rest of the entertainment world and throw his support behind John McCain. “We pretty much stay out of it, but seeing so many people come out for Obama, I just felt like ‘What the hell, I might as well raise my hand for this side,” Perry said from his Duxbury home. The Bay...
