In trying to keep up with where we stand on Obamacare and the states, seeking FReeper input on those states that belong on the solidly against expanding Medicaid list. Here's what I've cobbled together. Feel free to weigh in with information of your own. Don't mean to exclude any state that belongs on the list, or to include any state that doesn't belong. (Have to be careful, because a much longer list of states than this said they wouldn't set up a state exchange. I'm seeing that maybe some states waffled bigtime and split the difference...rejected a state exchange but...

Washington - The crowd...was downright unfriendly. Perry was interrupted, denounced and heckled for snubbing a Medicaid exansion in his state, but he vowed not to budge. -snip- The unfriendliness didn't stem from members of the Texas state Society...at a ritzy Republican club. But the Lone star State's famously anti-Washington governor faced...protestors, of the Texas Organizing Project, who popped up by turns where he spoke.

Being able to describe something accurately is the first step to understanding it, then fashioning a course of action. What happened in the House Speaker vote is that, although some opposition to Boehner began to surface, no candidate ran for the position against him. For days Mark Levin has been urging an opponent to run, but nobody did. Therefore, the options were Boehner, Pelosi, or continued votes without a winner. You can't beat somebody with nobody. Many thought Cantor was going to challenge Boehner when Cantor and the other leadership voted against the "cliff deal". They were mistaken. It's possible...

Rep. James Clyburn, the House Democrat's third-ranking leader, said on MSNBC's Daily Rundown Monday that the question of legal recognition of marriage between same-sex couples should not be left to state laws, but instead ought to be decided at the national level, a position that puts him at odds with President Barack Obama.Clyburn told NBC's Chuck Todd, "If we consider this to be a civil right, and I do, I don't think civil rights ought to be left up to a state-by-state approach. I think we should have a national policy on this."

Some of you know I physically cared for my mother for years. I want you to know that she passed away Tuesday, May 20, and I laid her to rest Friday in Colleyville (Fort Worth), Texas, next to my father. It is fitting at any time, but especially so this Memorial Day, to write a few words about her.She was 86.The World War II generation. The most important thing to her is that she was a Christian. The greatest love of doing in her life was teaching Bible classes to children and women. At that she was masterful, and even spent years...

Shown on the crawler of FNC. The GOP is getting understandably antsy about a possible looming debacle in the Senate in '08, and at least they're pulling out the stops in NB. Comments?

George Herbert Walker Bush is a proud father; tears easily come to his eyes when he thinks of his children, all of them, and there is gracious deference in his tone when he talks about the son he calls, with emphasis, "The President".

I keep hearing about a Rasmussen poll on censuring the President. The media blabbers are excitedly reporting that 36% of U.S. *adults"(yeah, I know) WANT the President censured, while 45% do not. Which does seem negative for the President because it would seem the numbers are closer than most would expect. 18% of self-identified Republicans want censure, according to the reports, and I forget the % of Dems and Indies but of course it is pretty high to get the yes total. One thing missing from the reports is much emphasis on what issue the censure was proposed, namely, wiretapping...

FReepers, it is past time to spotlight two GOP Congressman who are with Nancy Pelosi in going after our President and our strategy in Iraq, at the same time others are embarrassing us before the world by claiming that we have been embarrassed by our own military and command actions at Gitmo. I had heard about Walter Jones of North Carolina planning to introduce a resolution demanding that the President set a timetable to withdraw from Iraq. I don't know the specifics, if they are as bad as it sounds, but the media including Fox are using it to slam...

I just saw on CNN huge crowds, they were singing the American National Anthem and waving ours and their flags. Then they cut away until he speaks, but even the CNN anchorette and on scene reporter were astounded. Fox News is also supposed to carry.
