Unfortunately for the lying Corries, photos were actually taken that day. Where is the "mound of dirt" she was standing "atop"? I sure don't see it. Her head was a good 5 FEET below the top of the blade!

That photo's a fake. Shadows don't match, and the man has no legs.

We sold old Shermans to the IDF back in the 60s and they upgraded them into real Russian tank killers.

Right. The armor museum, just about 20 min drive down from Jerusalem, is packed and packed with examples of what can and can't be be done, but got done nonetheless.

In one of his more controversial articles he said: "If the Palestinians exhibited more foresight, they would have concentrated their actions against the settlements instead of attacking women and children (in Israel)."

Shopping for an outside support for his anti-settlement position by giving a tactical advise to violent, explosively peaceful palestinians. On the other hand, the whole issue starts to smell in view of the leftist democratic dictatorship history of smearing and framing of the so called settlers.

This is on top of the defiance shown by the leaders of Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia standing as one in Tblisi this week.

Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are a study in neurology. The Ukraine is divided into the Eastern Ukraine and the Western Ukraine. The latter sides with Poland, the former show a middle finger to both. What Ukraine are we talking about?

Said units doing exactly what? Angering the populace of the Eastern Ukraine?

If we're very fortunate, we may see the demise of the destructive green movement.

Hopefully, but "Very fortunate" is the clause. Hardly going to happen - this make-work make-issues crowd thrives on it.

My statement was in regard to the fact that selling goes both ways. Try bullying your customer when they come into your store to buy something. No matter how much they need your product, they will start doing whatever they can to find another store to shop in. Just a capitalist fact...not a threat.

That's why both are not interested in confrontation.

Not over Georgia. Russia will lose G8 and maybe WTO unless they spend some time pretending to kiss ass. Which they probably will. But continued efforts to reestablish a Soviet style intimidation over Europe will over time erode willingness to invest in Russia or deal with them. That will probably happen also. Russia has not had this economic resurgence in a vacuum.....and will not be able to maintain it when they create a vacuum.

    Hardly possible.

Clinton is an example of short term thinking. Kosovo was an example of Clintonesque short term thinking. I am not sure its a good idea for Russia to emulate Clintonian strategy as a revenge for Clintonian strategy.

Either way one wants to put it, the damage has been done.

Take me for instance...I fully supported Russia in the efforts against Chechnyan fanatics and was irritated that the West was not more supportive of Russia. Now, after the Georgia episode, I will not be mustering any support for Russia.

But the FNC said a couple days Georgia embarked on that military adventure against the advice of the State not to do so. Am I missing something?

go do some research. You have no clue as to what started this.

The FNC said it quite plainly that Georgia embarked on this adventure against the advice of the Sate not to do so. Must be some "right-wing propaganda".

The goal is to deter further aggression and reduce the chance of WWIII.

Cool again. I don't remember the US, acting favorably to the soviet missiles in Cuba, oh, and the Grenada island comes to mind too. What makes russians any different?

Russia secures the oil pipelines through Georgia, they will be able to dominate most of Europe and be emboldened to further aggression.

For the EU, Russia is today the single most important external supplier of natural gas and oil, as it is.

Let's see how things go in Russia when it's cuts off natural gas sales for political reasons.

So, making eurothreats to Russia is cool, getting ones in return - not cool. Interesting.

Russia's resurgence is specifically because of the level of integration with the West that it has achieved so far. If that level of integration collapses then the "resurgence" will collapse with it.....and those KGB billionaire thugs will find themselves very unpopular again very quickly.

    Won't happen.

The Chinese government has managed to find a way to suck off the capitalist tit while still being brutes at home. The Russians seem to think they can suck off the capitalist tit while being brutes internationally.

Say, like ... the US in the Balkans?

And Europe responds with a crash program to build lots of nuke plants, and to use nuke electric for heating and stoves instead of gas

Which is utopian, of course, because it will be debated to death by safety and green issues.

If depending on Russia to be a reliable supplier is a recipe for disaster, then Europe needs to immediately get started on replacing the supplier

    Good luck to them.

NATO countries need to announce the construction of a couple of new gas and oil pipelines through Georgia. The pipelines should be state owned, privately run and NATO protected! The removal of Russia from the G-8, making it the original G-7 would be a very good move and restrict or at least make it a lot more difficult for Russia to attract more foreign investment. Add to that, no WTO membership for years and NO SOCHI WINTER OLYMPICS IN 2014 and Russia will be a very unhappy place in a short time

Cool, let's imagine also Russia, cutting the supplies of the natural gas to all of Europe in return, with the G-7 reduced to G-0 in no time. No gas-supply Marchall's plan this time.
So, forget it. The Pandora's box had been opened with NATO-US military follies in Kosovo, enthusiastically aided by the european socialist apparatchiks. One eats, what one cooked, they say.

My proposal. Russia has certainly put us on notice that they are not our friend.

And who, exactly, is a "friend"? The one willing to get kicked around?

Too many pacifists here who are willing to sell out anybody and everybody inorder to safe guard their own lives over the short term.

And what about the abkhazi and ossetians, who just won't want to live in "georgia"? Bomb'em into submission, like serbs?

The West needs to at least take deterrent actions such as stationing a sizable logistic and humantarian presence in Tbilisi and a small military force and equipment in Ukraine.

    And risk a WWIII. Cool.
