A federal judge on Friday rejected Sgt. Gary Stein's injunction to halt a military tribunal's recommendation that he receive the discharge following anti-Obama comments he made on a private Facebook page in March, according to court documents. Stein, 26, has maintained a webpage for the last two years about the armed forces tea party group he founded, including a disclaimer that the views were his own and didn't reflect those of his employer. But according to his attorney, Stein never ran into any trouble until last month, when he wrote: "Screw Obama. I will not follow all orders from him."

A US Marine faces possible dismissal after posting critical remarks on Facebook about US President Barack Obama, with a review board recommending a less than honorable discharge. Sergeant Gary Stein (26) a nine-year veteran, posted comments on Facebook and other websites calling Obama a coward and "the economic and religious enemy," a Marine Corps board was told during an all-day hearing on Thursday. Stein had urged Obama's defeat in the November election, writing "screw Obama" in one posting, and had founded a website called Armed Forces Tea Party, apparently in support of the ultra-conservative Tea Party movement. On one site...

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: I got an e-mail this morning from Cal Thomas, and he got an e-mail from Jim Pinkerton. You all know who James Pinkerton is. Pinkerton is on the Fox News media analysis show. And this is a story from the UK Telegraph that these guys were sending back and forth to each other. Cal Thomas sent it to me. The headline of the story -- and it's dated today -- "US Weapons 'Full of Fake Chinese Parts' -- Thousands of United States' warplanes, ships and missiles contain fake electronic components from China, leaving them open to malfunction,...

  • GORDON: Obama’s deadly new PR firm- Whatever happened to SEAL Team 6 being a ‘secret’ weapon?

The dramatic rescue of an American aid worker and her Danish colleague in Somalia by Navy commandos was a terrific encore to the killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan nine months ago. However, all the White House-driven publicity for both events has helped turn the once-secret SEAL Team 6 into a household term, with likely negative consequences. Although SEAL Team 6 and its official successor, the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, have been around since the 1980s, their missions always were kept secret to shield their members’ identities and protect operational security. Every president since the team’s founding has...

The death of a sailor from Florida marks a sad milestone for the President of the United States. Since Barack H. Obama became the Commander in Chief, 900 soldiers have lost their lives. The 900th to die was Edwin Gonzalez, 22, of North Miami Beach, Florida. The Department of Defense says Gonzales was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom as a Hospital Corpsman. He died Oct. 8 from wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Forces, Atlantic, Camp Lejeune, N.C. You can see the list...
  • McChrystal Out, Petraeus In, Yet Buffoonish Commander-In-Chief Remains

After expressing grave misgivings about his dawdling, unserious, greenhorn Commander-in-Chief’s policies, Gen. Stanley McChrystal is history. In a sensational Rolling Stone interview appropriately titled “The Runaway General,” McChrystal and his staffers were quite right to be critical of President Obama’s non-strategy for not winning the war in Afghanistan, but in a constitutional republic propriety requires that top generals keep their mouths (and the mouths of their aides) shut in public. Rolling Stone has a long history of blindly opposing war in general so it seems reasonable to assume the magazine went with the article in an effort to undermine America’s...

Here is video of President Obama at Andrews Air Force Base last night, delivering at least part of the speech he had planned to deliver in observance of Memorial Day in Illinois. Storms hit at about the time Obama tried to begin his speech at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Illinois yesterday. The event was eventually canceled. A crowd was assembled at Andrews to greet Obama, and so he could deliver his remarks.
  • Obama Memorial Day Wreath-Laying Need Not be at Arlington Cemetery(MSM out to save their deity)

The news that some conservative critics were exacting their pound of flesh from a Democratic president for not laying a wreath this year at Arlington National Cemetery certainly was a reach, especially after the White House revealed that Vice President Joe Biden was going to Arlington -- and that the commander-in-chief would pay his respects at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill.

Already under increasing fire for his handling of an oil spill that many experts now say will be the worst environmental disaster in U.S. history, President Barack Obama is riling conservatives and veterans with his decision to skip the traditional Memorial Day ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery. Instead, he will vacation in Chicago. The decision not only has angered conservative pundits such as Glenn Beck but also has riled military families and others who expect the president to follow tradition on the day reserved for honoring the sacrifice of America’s soldiers. On Jacksonville.com, run by the Florida Times-Union newspaper, a...

Last week, I entered Walter Reed Army Hospital to notify the Department of Defense that I would refuse to obey any orders from my commanding officers -- including President Obama -- until the president produces his original birth certificate. After nearly eighteen years of wearing the military uniform of the country I have proudly served, including overseas assignments in imminent danger/combat areas in Bosnia and Afghanistan, I felt compelled to take this step.  I made this decision from much deliberation, after lengthy consultations with many friends, family members, and colleagues, and I firmly believe that all servicemen and women, and the...

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Adm. Mike Mullen will testify next week on the repeal of a controversial law preventing openly gay people from serving in the military. The Senate Armed Services Committee announced Thursday that Gates and Mullen will testify Tuesday on repealing the 1993 law, commonly known “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” President Barack Obama on Wednesday renewed his commitment to repeal the law, but supporters say the real test will come this spring with the Pentagon budget.

Obama to Call for 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Repeal, Adviser Says By Laurie Ure, CNN Pentagon Producer January 28, 2010 In 2008, more than 100 retired generals and admirals called for a DADT repeal. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has called for a review of the policy. During the 2008 presidential election, then-candidate Barack Obama promised to end the DADT policy. Obama, as president, has been criticized by GLB groups for not pushing harder to get the law repealed. Military statistics indicate that from 1997 to 2008 -- over 10,500 service members have been discharged under the law. Servicemembers...

As I said on Monday when I wrote about this, the politics of it are a no-brainer. And getting to be more so every day: If you believe Michael Barone, the Dems are now staring not at a 1994 wave but possibly a 1974 wave, when congressional Republicans were obliterated by the deep blue tide that washed in after Watergate. If they don’t repeal this soon, they may not have the votes to try again for a long time. Even if you disagree with rescinding the policy, take comfort in knowing that the roll call in the House and Senate...

(snip) White House officials began their Saturday at 4 a.m. in Hawaii — 9 a.m. on the clock in Washington — to prepare with counterparts across the government a briefing for Obama. National Security Council chief of staff Denis McDonough in Hawaii, homeland security and counterterrorism adviser John Brennan and others in Washington spoke with Obama at 6:20 a.m. by secure telephone conference call at the first family's rented vacation home. Thecall lasted less than 15 minutes. Obama left immediately afterward for a trip to the gym. Other traveling administration aides also were kept in a secure hotel room to...

All he meant, I take it, is that the current commander-in-chief might not be Mr. Popularity among the presumably hawkish, right-leaning majority of cadets. But when your mouth is bigger than your brain, this is what happens. Twitter’s already buzzing about it so have at it. Exit question: How soon before the public apology? Middle segment on tomorrow night’s “Hardball”? Opening segment? Or does he take to the airwaves tomorrow morning and do the deed on “Morning Joe”?

Reporting from Ft. Hood, Texas - President Obama is slated to speak at a memorial service today at this grieving Army base, where a military psychiatrist is accused of killing 13 people in a shooting rampage. The service, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. local time, will be a traditional military affair, with a sermon, a roll call of the dead and a rifle volley. About 3,000 spectators, as well as the families of the 12 soldiers and one civilian killed, are expected to attend. The tribute comes amid new questions about whether the shooting, in which dozens were also...
