I have had enough. The progression that has driven the original, relatively constrained welfare system of the United States to its present, cradle-to-grave assurances of absolute support for whatever form of Taking or Faking one chooses to pursue has taken quite a lot of Americans, including this one, to a completely different destination. Here's a sample of the fuel that's propelled us: “I believe that in a society as wealthy as ours, we should have a commitment to our seniors and to the disabled,” Obama said. “That’s not a sign of weakness. That’s not socialism.” Obama called “the basic American...

In a potentially ominous Super Tuesday setback for Rick Santorum, a campaign filing mishap in Ohio could leave him ineligible to be awarded 18 Buckeye State district delegates -- more than a quarter of the total at stake there, ABC News reported Friday. Ohio has 66 delegates total, with 63 at stake on Tuesday. Santorum failed to qualify for any district delegates in three Ohio congressional districts representing nine delegates because he didn't turn in names there. ABC News reported that in six other congressional districts, the former Pennsylvania senator's campaign submitted fewer names than required to be eligible for...

Okay, so now that Rick Santorum has shown us that he CAN be aggressive in battle it is time for him to go back to being humble.. answer attackers with short responses and stick to the issues of Ecconomy, National Security, and Illegal Immigration... Only give short responses when asked about abortion and contraception and remind the questioner that WE THE PEOPLE DON'T CARE about that right now.... let the attackers appear foolish as they are, do not give them the time of day.. we know Rick is pro-life, got it.. now back to the issues of the day... Stay...

Home of the Brave? Not So Much David C. Stolinsky Dec. 12, 2011 Listing courage among the other virtues implies that it is separate from them. This assumes that it is possible to have charity, kindness, honesty, loyalty, faith, hope, or any other virtue you can name, and yet lack courage. I don’t think so. Courage is not a separate virtue. Courage is the indispensable quality without which all other virtues are merely good intentions: People are like pearls. No matter how smooth and delicate a pearl may be, it has a grain of sand at its center....

American broadcaster Glenn Beck held an inspirational rally "Restoring Courage" in support of Israel and the Jewish people at the Davidson Center near the Kotel Plaza Wednesday. The rally was attended by thousands, many of whom came to Israel with him, and was viewed by many more on a giant screen at Safra Square in Jerusalem and worldwide on Beck's web-based television station. Video "What can I teach Israel about courage?" he asked after the audience had risen for "Hatikva", Israel's national anthem, led by famed singer Dudu Fisher, with many waving Israeli and American flags. "Nothing", he said with...

The debate on the intentions of Glenn Beck and other Christian evangelicals rages on, and Dr. Gadi Eshel, a Land of Israel activist, told Arutz 7 Tuesday that while he did not believe that Beck's intentions were improper, rejecting the friendship of evangelicals could cause anti-Semitism. Eshel was responding to comments by Jerusalem City Council member Mina Fenton Monday, who voiced vociferous opposition to Beck's appearance in Jerusalem on Wednesday, saying that his rally was designed to encourage missionary activity. Eshel told Arutz 7 that Christians like Beck supported Israel because they were strong believers in the Bible, and not...

NORWALK – Kimberly Nizato, the woman accused of nearly starving her dog to death, was sentenced Monday to a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty. Defense attorney Andrew Stein successfully argued to Judge Robert J. Higa that the District Attorney Office's case did not meet the standard for a felony conviction.

I am profoundly grateful to Steve for agreeing to write this post for the Bubble. +++++++ When Leila asked me to write about gay marriage, the first thing I found out was how little I know about it. NORWALK – Kimberly Nizato, the woman who surrendered her severely emaciated dog to an acquaintance in spring 2010, pleaded no contest Monday to a single charge of felony animal cruelty. The Bellflower resident was working as a kennel assistant at an Irvine veterinary hospital when she relinquished the ailing 3-year-old German shepherd. She was arrested April 16, 2010. The dog weighed 37 pounds at the time and was named Courage by German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County, which claimed responsibility for his care. Veterinarians testified last year at a preliminary hearing that the dog ate dirt and rocks to survive.

In the days of the judges of Israel, Israel had turned their backs repeatedly on the Law of Moses and the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Moses (Deut. 31:29, Judges 2:6-11). When they followed these absolutes of time and ETERNITY (which was almost NEVER) they were blessed and prospered by the hand of the Lord (Judges 4-5). "The consequences of this lawless departure led to the break down of society and to the chastening hand of the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Moses" During one particular time when Ehud - a godly man, deliverer and judge of the...

The motives behind Glenn Beck’s recent trip to Israel now make more sense with his announcement Monday morning that he will be holding a major rally in Israel this summer. “I believe I’ve been asked to stand — in Jerusalem,” Beck told his audience recounting a list of times in history when people and nations failed to stand with the Jewish people. Beck explained, as he has often in the last year, how the life and thinking of the German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer has influenced him: “He asked people to stand for the Jewish people.” He told of Bonhoeffer’s call...
  • How House GOP can - and should - block Obama recess appointments

Republicans shouldn't settle for issuing outraged press releases the next time President Obama makes a recess appointment. Instead, they should use their constitutional powers to block him from taking such action in the first place. In his first two years in office, Obama made 28 recess appointments, many of which were of highly controversial nominees who likely wouldn't have been confirmed otherwise. Obama will keep making such appointments until House Republicans thwart him. Remember that when Democrats took over Congress in 2007, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid blocked President Bush from making recess appointments by holding pro forma Senate sessions...

As Doug noted earlier, “Governor Palin is showing a tremendous amount of courage and leadership by literally traveling to the “lion’s den.’” This is not just lofty rhetoric. The threats are mounting, and they should be taken seriously. When the powerful left and union bosses begin talk of throwing things and drowning out free speech, you can be assured they are not acting with care and concern for any hard working Wisconsinite. They are reaching out with greedy hands to strangle the liberties of anyone standing in the way of their money and power. As has become so common with Gov....

So I'm 50. I have a very smart, very beautiful daughter who is a junior in high school. Every day, I wake up and say to myself "Crap. I'm still alive." I feel like I've done my job. I have give birth to and raised an extraordinary human being. There's nothing I can do now to advance her career or life. How much does God expect me to endure? When can I say "I've had enough?" At what point is it rational to jump off that bridge simply because one is tired of putting up with all the crap?

Our society definitely honors those who show “courage.” Medals are given to the soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and coast guard personnel who go “…above and beyond the call of duty” and exhibit great bravery while completing their assigned missions. Many times, the people who are so recognized did these actions at the risk of their own lives. Thus, the military awards decorations to these brave men and women according to their level of valor. With much pomp and ceremony, these “heroes” receive such medals as the “Bronze” or “Silver Star,” the “Distinguished Service Cross,” or the highest award our nation...
