What do we do when ministers, "reverends" and other church leaders are so very lost themselves? In one personal case convincing others that he is sin free and saved, when in reality he is far from that? If we do not have real leaders of spirituality in positions of various churches, how on earth do we turn America around!

It's become a tradition. Every Memorial Day, our family goes to the Concord Battlefield, not far from our home, where Americans first fell fighting for freedom. Now The Minute Man National Park, it's 967 acres of winding trails, flower beds, stately trees and the meandering Concord River. This is the place where America began. Words must be spoken or written – as they were in Philadelphia in 1776. But it's cold steel that gives them force. On April 19, 1775, we showed our mettle. Emerson's poem still stirs the soul: "By the rude bridge that arched the flood, their flag...

“While promising them liberty , they themselves are the slaves of corruption, for by what a man is overcome, by that is he brought into bondage” 2 Peter 2“Workers of the world unite! You have nothing to lose but your shackles!” Karl Marx“All the world over, so easy to see, that people everywhere just want to be free…”(The Young Rascals)We live in an age of revolution. Everywhere on this planet people have been “breaking off the shackles” in one “liberation movement” after another in the quest for that elusive goal, which is freedom. The American revolution was followed by the...

“If you continue in my word you shall be my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”(John 8:32)“Promising them liberty, when they themselves are the slaves of corruption, for by what a man is overcome, by that is he enslaved” (2 Peter 2:19)There is a true freedom, according to Jesus, Yet the apostle Peter warns us against the slavery of a false freedom. How can we know the difference between the true and the false freedom? Only by appealing to the original document of human liberty, the Holy Bible. The Bible addresses...

Donald Sterling told friend in recorded conversation that 'I've done nothing wrong' and that in America 'you can't force somebody to sell property He claimed his lawyers have told him that it would take '20 years of litigation' to force him to sell the team Sterling said the $2.5m fine imposed on him by the NBA is 'far excessive' He said: ‘$2.5m for what? For telling a girl I wanted to have sex with her and why it would be so beneficial for her?’ Sterling called his mistress Stiviano 'nuts' and fears that she will 'take me down' Hit out...

Hundreds of Iranian women are ripping off their hijabs and posting selfies online to the Facebook page "Stealthy Freedoms of Iranian Women,” a photo project that's reaped more than 130,000 likes and sparked conversation about how safe it is for women to forgo their headscarfs. London-based Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad told the U.K.’s he Guardian that since she created the page on May 3, she’s been inundated by submissions. "I've hardly slept in the past three days because of the number of pictures and messages I've received,” she said. The hijab is a veil that covers the head and chest...

Crimson banners hang outside Memorial Church on the campus of Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., Sept. 6, 2012. Credit: Tim Sackton via Flickr (CC BY-SA 2.0). Cambridge, Mass., May 12, 2014 / 01:43 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- Harvard University’s acceptance of a satanic black mass re-enactment on campus raises larger questions of tolerance and whether it is being applied selectively, scholars say. “If there is a serious question to ask here, it concerns the limits of liberal toleration itself,†said Dr. C.C. Pecknold, theology professor at The Catholic University of America. “Far from facilitating mutual respect and reasoned argument, such anti-Catholic...

Word is that some Miami Dolphin is being sent to some sort of education training so he can learn not to be repulsed by the image of two homosexual men engaging in sexual behavior. I do know that when people do not march in step with the leadership in North Korea, they are ALSO sent away to be educated.

After the marshal on Monday spoke the traditional “God save the United States and this honorable court,” the Supreme Court ruled that the upstate New York town of Greece does not violate the First Amendment’s prohibition of “establishment of religion” by opening its board of supervisors’ meetings with a prayer. This ruling would not scandalize James Madison and other members of the First Congress, which drafted and sent to the states for ratification the First Amendment and the rest of the Bill of Rights. The Congress did this after hiring a chaplain. Three decades have passed since the court last...

Whichever way the United States Supreme Court rules on Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, one fact has become abundantly clear. We are belatedly realizing that different forms of freedom are more dependent on each other than many have hitherto supposed. Who would have thought that the welfare state’s expansion in the guise of Obamacare—which, by definition, significantly reduces economic freedom—would directly impact the ability of individuals and groups to conduct their affairs in accordance with their deeply held religious beliefs? This, however, is precisely the reality confronting us. Most people are used to thinking of religious liberty as a prerequisite...

The White House is waging an all-out assault on religious liberty. Public schools are indoctrinating our children with the gospel of secularism. Hollywood is spewing toxins into our homes. The soundtrack of our lives is a pulsating mix of sex and violence and filth. The American family is in ruins. What was once wrong is now right and what was once right is now wrong. Our nation stands on a precipice. Freedom hangs in the balance. We live in a postmodern and post-God nation. The perfect storm is brewing. Do not be deceived. There may be a war on religious...

Producers have the chance to be rehired – at lower salaries CNN cut or reduced 50 positions across multiple divisions on Thursday, changing roles and reducing positions and salaries across the board, a CNN executive told TheWrap. “There is essentially no head count change,” a network executive wrote in an email. “Fifty positions have been impacted. Roles will [be] changed.” CNN President Jeff Zucker met with newsroom reporters on Thursday to tell them the bad news, an insider told TheWrap. The cuts mainly affect news producers and managers, some of whom will be invited to reapply for new or “updated”...

Which nation is richer, Belarus or Luxembourg? If you look at total economic output, you might be tempted to say Belarus. The GDP of Belarus, after all, is almost $72 billion while Luxembourg’s GDP is less than $60 billion. But that would be a preposterous answer since there are about 9.5 million people in Belarus compared to only about 540,000 folks in Luxembourg. It should be obvious that what matters is per-capita GDP, and the residents of Luxembourg unambiguously enjoy far higher living standards than their cousins in Belarus. This seems like an elementary point, but it has to be...

In the mid 1980’s, politicians convinced the citizens in state after state that lotteries would supply the needed cash for their education systems. The voters couldn’t resist the campaigns that promised to improve the education of their children. As of today, 44 states are involved in some sort of lottery where a portion of the earnings are used specifically for the education of their children. Unfortunately, the expected jackpot never materialized for the purpose it was intended. Instead we learned that state after state has been caught using the funds for programs other than education. Even if all the...

This is especially for you parents who have your most precious possessions (your KIDS) in government schools and then scrimp and save to send them to allegedly top notch colleges and universities. This radical leftist pictured below is the poster girl for the vast majority of those who "teach" (read that "indoctrinate") in those places. Many of us have understood their intentions for a long time. The left has now grown so bold that they no longer must conceal their takeover of the educational system here. Then you are puzzled when your kids come out hating you and the values...

From the beginning of recorded history, humans have made monumental decisions based upon the needs of their children. Some parents would move far away from the land in which they themselves were born and raised, because they wanted their children to have a better chance in the world. The Pilgrims, who left England, and many who followed them, came to America both for religious freedom, and a better future for their children. Many may remember the television series based upon Laura Ingalls Wilders’ novel, Little House on The Prairie. It’s the story of a man who moved west so...

A coalition of clergy members is challenging North Carolina's constitutional ban on gay marriage with an unusual approach in a federal lawsuit: They say it violates their religious freedom. The clergy members said in the lawsuit filed Monday that they'd like to perform same-sex marriage ceremonies in their congregations, but they can't because of the "unjust law."... "North Carolina's marriage laws are a direct affront to freedom of religion," said the Rev. J. Bennett Guess, executive minister with the Cleveland-based United Church of Christ, which is a plaintiff in the lawsuit. "We feel that it is important that any person...

A FEW thoughts on the Donald Sterling scandal.... ....My sympathy for Sterling is nonexistent. His racist remarks are odious, and they couldn’t have come as a shock to anyone who has followed his career. Yet the most alarming part of this story has less to do with basketball or the racial prejudices of an 80-year-old plutocrat than with what it says about the rapidly disappearing presumption that things we say in our personal lives will stay personal.

Academic freedom used to be a staple of higher education in America. It has slowly been whittled away to the point where conservatives are generally unwelcome. Worse still are researchers who reach conclusions not approved by the left. Over at Harvard Sandra Korn openly advocates for eliminating academic freedom in favor of “academic justice.” Opinions and research which aren’t approved by the left would be banned from college. One can imagine any research opposing “climate change” theory would be banned. As would any research on race, sex or ethnicity that doesn’t fit into the left’s narrative. Truth would be sacrificed...
