In a surprise ruling, a three judge panel of the Ninth Circus Court of Appeals issued a unanimous opinion supporting the right of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients to unionize in order to assure equitable access to benefits, along with an uninterrupted flow of payments should the federal government be forced to temporarily shut down due to congressional budget stalemates. "For too long so-called Food Stamp beneficiaries have been denied access to union representation seeking to protect their rights," said Justice Gavin Moore Freestuff. In a sharply worded rebuke to attorneys representing the National Taxpayers Union, which sought to...

With each passing day, it seems the United States of America, “Land of the Free and Home of the Brave” is becoming more and more like the Communist Russia I learned about in elementary school where people weren’t allowed to grow their own food unless the State “allowed” it. In this latest crackdown on citizens simply trying to provide for themselves using the most basic of skills – gardening – the USDA’s Rural Development Agency is forbidding Rosie, an industrious 4-year old girl in South Dakota from using a small, unused area outside her subsidized housing unit to grow green...

Alejandro Mayorkas, director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, is being investigated by the DHS Inspector General as part of an a broader inquiry into the USCIS foreign investor program, the Associated Press reported July 23. According to the report, which was based on leaked internal DHS emails, no specific criminal violations were mentioned. The emails said the DHS IG began its investigation of the EB-5 visa program at USCIS last year. The probe involved visas sought by Gulf Coast Funds Management, a firm led by Anthony Rodham, brother of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Mayorkas may...

Yes, this DNC video, played during the convention, said we all belong to the government. Out of the mouths of fools often comes what they really think.

Late last week and through the weekend, citizens of St. Louis, Mo., were told not to be alarmed should they see military tanks roll by their home. Even with this warning, though, some wondered why the U.S. Army was taking the vehicles off the base and to the streets in the first place. According to KSDK-TV, Army specialists from Fort Meade came into town for a training exercise for members of the 354 NP company. As the reporter states, this “drivers’ ed.” for tanks will take place on city streets and the highway.

(CNSNews.com) - As a showdown in Congress looms over the federal budget, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) claims Democrats would like to see the federal government shutdown after the current continuing resolution runs out on April 8th. “We now know that Democrats want a federal shutdown. They’ve said that, Chuck Schumer has said that, Harry Reid has said that and Howard Dean has said that. So clearly the Democrats want a shutdown. They own the shutdown, not the Republicans,” Bachmann said to CNSNews.com. “They’re allies in the mainstream media will get on board with their talking points and blame Republicans. The...

This struggling small city on the outskirts of Mobile was warned for years that if it did nothing, its pension fund would run out of money by 2009. Right on schedule, its fund ran dry. Then Prichard did something that pension experts say they have never seen before: it stopped sending monthly pension checks to its 150 retired workers, breaking a state law requiring it to pay its promised retirement benefits in full.

WASHINGTON — Even as they prepare to welcome 13 newly elected Republicans into their ranks, GOP senators have already fired the opening salvos in an intraparty ideological battle over federal spending — one that threatens to divide the upper chamber’s Old Bulls and newer Tea Party-aligned members. South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, a champion of conservative candidates like Florida’s Marco Rubio and Utah’s Mike Lee, announced Tuesday that he will push Senate Republicans to vote to make “earmarking” — the process by which lawmakers can set aside federal funds for pet projects in their home states — expressly against internal...

In the following voicemail recording, Holmes Norton seeks a campaign contribution from the lobbyist and even mentions that she hadn’t previously asked for a donation. Such is the pressure Speaker Pelosi has placed on the members. But, it is the content of Holmes Norton’s message that is interesting. (Note: the first few seconds of the recording, where the name of the lobbyist is said by Holmes Norton, have been redacted by the source.)

A bond is a contract to repay borrowed money within a specified term and with fixed-interval interest payments. Build America Bonds (BABs) were created under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, signed into law by President Obama in February 2009, with the intention of providing a low cost means of borrowing for state, municipality and county agencies. Build America Bonds are taxable fixed-income securities that help these agencies finance capital expenditures through subsidized borrowing. (snip ) The Pros • 35% subsidy/tax credit • Interest rates comparable to corporate bonds - this means the bonds are typically high-yielding • Allow municipalities...

I have no idea if I am posting this correctly as I rarely post things. But this is pretty amazing video. I wonder why the media has not picked up on it? The Obama administration says the Oil leak is nothing to worry about now. Nobody knows what the truth is since the goverment has imposed a news blackout of the Oil Leak. You can be sure that this administration is hiding something, the imposed news blackout makes that case by its mere existence.

The weekend brought highly interesting developoments in the attempts at forming a new Dutch government ('cabinet', officially our 'goverment' equals 'cabinet + Sovereign'). After Labour leader Cohen rejected several options to make a cabinet with the christian-democrats, the CDA, the potential rightwing partners made a new attempt. As it stands, the VVD (resembling the U.S. Republicans, although they call themselves 'liberal' over here), the CDA, and the PVV, led by Geert Wilders, struck a new deal for the eventual real forming of a cabinet. CDA and VVD provisionally agreed to take place in a minority government, whilst Wilders announced that...

Published: 02 April 2010 April 1st, 2010, Fairfax, VA—Michael Yon continues to question why he was arrested upon arrival at Seattle- Tacoma International Airport by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for his refusal to answer a question about how much money he makes. Commenting yesterday on his Facebook page about the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) appeal filed with the USCBP by the group Americans for Limited Government (ALG), Yon wrote, “Does the United States government have a right to arrest people for refusing to say who they work for, and how much money they earn? They arrested me....

After America, There is No Place to Go America Truly is the Greatest Country in the World. Don't Let Freedom Slip Away. By: Kitty Werthmann What I am about to tell you is something you've probably never heard or will ever read in history books. I believe that I am an eyewitness to history. I cannot tell you that Hitler took Austria by tanks and guns; it would distort history. We elected him by a landslide 98% of the vote. I've never read that in any American publications. Everyone thinks that Hitler just rolled in with his tanks and took...

Different Look at the Wee-Wee We Are In I’m a conservative and have a lens that I look through which breaks things down in terms of left and right, because it clearly fits the times we are living in. Yet this morning as I was sipping my coffee looking at the story in which the Department of Labor is reporting inflation but it is not being reported. This started a process of thinking that also fits the times we are living in. I have an uncle Ed who was a very successful attorney, retired very wealthy yet in his later...

This is for discussion and ideas of what to do about impending coersed healthcare (cap and trade can be added as well). We must co-ordinate with other organizations and websites to take actions necessary to kill this bill. The News does not report the publics contempt for all the many dictatorial and life altering sections of this bill. As a matter of fact, not much of the public actually know what is in this beast. But we do know the vast majority of the public do not want it. Some of my ideas are contacting The Chamber of Commerces across...

What happens when a private sector union gets far too many benefits to the point where the business for which its membership works goes under or whose existence is threatened? Punishment. Unions either take a reduction of benefits or pay -- or both -- and cuts in time or jobs in order to right the ship and keep the business afloat occur. Just like punishment comes to businesses that make bad business decisions, private employee unions also realize punishment for overreach. At the risk of losing the whole enterprise both for unions and owners, the market serves to correct excess....

The object of the game is to destroy American capitalism by having the government take over everything! Tokens include a bus, a teleprompter, a sprig of arugula and a waffle iron. Wanna play? No??? Too bad, you're already playing...and quite frankly, in this game, nobody wins!
