  • Store Ignores Obvious Signs, Goes Overboard With Its Anti-Gun Policy

A furniture store in Takoma Park, Maryland that calls itself a “Weapons Free Environment” took its policy a bit too far on Independence Day. That’s when a loss prevention officer at IKEA approached Alan Goldberg, who carried a visible, holstered firearm into the store, telling him he would have to leave the premises or place the weapon in his vehicle, according to NBC Washington. The request caught Goldberg off guard: he is Takoma Park’s chief of police, and he was in uniform during his visit.

Put yourself in a criminal’s position. You feel like shooting and killing a bunch of people, and you want to be met with as little opposition as possible. If you go to a place that allows concealed carry, there’s a risk that someone could take you out before you start shooting, and that’s a risk you don’t want to take. Naturally, you’d go to a place that has heavy restrictions on gun-carriers. That’ll pretty much guarantee that no one will be able to fight back, and you’d be able to shoot and kill as many as you want. And then...

Thieves in NC are Targeting Cars With Gun Related Stickers and Cars Parked near Gun Free Zones May 19 2014 by Dan Cannon Share This Post looks like gun thieves in North Carolina are getting smart in their search to illegally acquire guns. According to a local report today, police have managed to bust several thieves they say are targeting cars that have gun related stickers on the bumper or windows. They are also targeting cars that are parked near gun free zones. These areas force law abiding concealed carriers to leave their firearms in their vehicles where they are...

They say that lightning never strikes twice in the same place. Not true. It does if you stand high atop a cliff’s edge waving a lightning rod above your head during a thunderstorm. In fact, in the unlikely event you survive the first strike, it’ll keep right on striking until you climb down. So-called “gun-free zones” are lightning rods for mass murder. It’s time we climbed down from the cliff’s edge. America mourns yet another needless and preventable mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas. When will gun-grabbing liberals learn? In a blunt and provocatively titled, though well-reasoned post, submitted shortly...

INDIANAPOLIS - Governor Mike Pence has signed a bill allowing guns to be locked in cars on school property as long as they are hidden and in the parking lot. (snip) The bill also addresses firearm buyback programs, allowing that firearms may be destroyed to be sold to a salvage company or for recycling, and that buyback programs can be conducted with private funds or grants.

While politicians are consistently attacking Americans second amendment rights through propaganda and lies children’s lives hang in the balance. To push their political agenda they claim “they are doing it for the children” or “want to make America safer.” As adults fight it out in the political arena, trying to push through “illegal” gun control laws, the most innocent of America have become “defenseless targets”; all for the sake of “political correctness.” Their voices have been stifled by those claiming to know what is best for them while they have never walked in these children’s shoes. I do wonder how...
  • Man gunned down outside luxury NJ mall (thought NJ was a gun free zone?)

Carjackers shot and killed a man in front of his horrified wife Sunday in the parking structure of an upscale New Jersey mall. The 30-year-old victim was attacked by two thugs and shot in the head at The Mall at Short Hills in Millburn at around 9:10 p.m. “It was at least two gunshots. People started ducking and panicking,” Rick Ramos, who works at the mall’s California Pizza Kitchen, told The Post. “We had to barricade everyone inside. I could hear a woman screaming her head off. It was brutal. She was shrieking.”

President Barack Obama accused opponents of gun control of fighting to allow “dangerous people” to own guns in a speech on Saturday to activists at Congressional Black Caucus, promising he would revive his failed gun control efforts following recent urban shootings in Chicago and Washington D.C.’s Navy Yard. “We can’t rest until all of our children can go to school or walk down the street free from the fear that they will be struck down by a stray bullet,” he said, citing recent shooting in Chicago’s African-American districts. The promise of gun control came with the incendiary suggestion that gun-rights...

President Barack Obama on Sunday memorialized the victims of the Washington Navy Yard shooting by calling for a transformation in the nation’s gun laws to address an epidemic of gun violence, saying, “There’s nothing inevitable about it.” Reprising his role of the nation’s consoler in chief after yet another mass shooting, Obama said Americans should honor the victims of last Monday’s shooting by insisting on a change in gun laws. “It ought to obsess us,” Obama said. … He said no other advanced nation endures the kind of gun violence seen in the United States, and blamed mass shootings in...

Three employees of a Starbucks coffee store near Georgetown were found brutally slain yesterday morning, sending shock waves through a community generally immune from such violence. The bodies of night manager Mary Caitrin Mahoney, 25, Emory Allen Evans, 25, and Aaron David Goodrich, 18, were found at 5:15 a.m. in a back room of the store at 1810 Wisconsin Ave. NW, in Burleith, just north of Georgetown, police said. An employee arriving for work found the bodies. All three had been shot several times.

Security: As the usual suspects call for stricter gun control, the fact remains that a gunman with two prior gun-crime arrests entered a secure military facility with a stolen ID and found no one able to shoot back. It was Fort Hood all over again. Aaron Alexis, a gunman whose prior behavioral warning signs were ignored, opens fire in an installation belonging to the most powerful military on Earth and those who protect our nation and design our weapons are not allowed to have a weapon to defend themselves. He was more equipped than the 12 people he killed on...

With the Chicago Independence Day Massacre now over until next weekend, there will be talking heads pontificating yet again about what we can do to stop the violence in the president’s hometown and in every other city in America. The left will clamor for more gun control, more “common sense” gun laws and restrictions, blah blah blah, as their panacea to stop the nightly slaughter. Chicago already has the strictest gun control laws in the nation – and some of the highest rates of violence. Write this down somebody: Gun control doesn’t work. I’ve heard it all before. None of...
  • State officials may arm Oregon University police for first time in school’s history

    06/18/2013 11:19:13 AM PDT · by matt04 · 11 replies
State officials may soon give police officers at Oregon University (OU) permission to carry firearms for the first time in the school’s 137-year history. The unarmed officers, currently responsible for the safety of over 24,000 students on the 295-acre campus, rely on Eugene City Police Department officers to diffuse potentially dangerous situations. The decision, which is set to come down from the State Board of Higher Education on June 21, however, would allow members of the Oregon University Police Department (OUPD) to carry Glock G4s that have already been purchased as part of a plan to arm to the department....

Gun Control: As the Colorado legislature considers a ban on campus concealed carry, a woman testifying how she was raped in a "safe zone" 50 feet from a police station is told that armed defense is useless. It didn't receive quite as much media coverage as Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke's plea for free contraceptives before Congress but on Monday a young woman named Amanda Collins mustered the courage to testify before a Colorado legislative committee on that state's proposed gun ban legislation. Collins was raped at gunpoint in a University of Nevada-Reno parking garage in October 2007. Nevada law...

Gun Control: The silent media ignore a Colorado Democrat who says women don't need firearms to defend themselves from predators and a patronizing vice president who says women can't handle an AR-15 anyway. On Monday, the Colorado House passed four gun control bills. Among them is HB13-1226. It would ban concealed weapons on college campuses, as if creating more gun-free zones, such as the one around the Aurora, Colo., theater, where 12 were killed and another 59 wounded, will prevent more massacres. Colorado is a concealed-carry state, as was Virginia at the time of the Virginia Tech shootings. But like...

Heard it second hand through the Newtown grapevine this weekend that there is surveillance camera footage on Dec 14, 2012 likely showing Adam Lanza pulling into Newtown High School before heading to Sandy Hook Elementary. Evidently there was some sort of drug-related police presence at the high school that morning, more than the daily single squad car out front, that may have deterred him to a softer target. The linked story from January 3rd is about similar reports soon after the shooting, which police denied. Sources are in local occupations that would know of the existence of such video footage,...

The Wyoming House of Representatives has passed two right to carry improvement bills. House Bill 103, introduced by state Representative Allen Jaggi (R-19), would strengthen the state’s authority over firearm laws while prohibiting counties from enacting their own ordinances in clear violation of the current state firearms preemption statute. House Bill 105, also introduced by Rep. Jaggi, would allow law-abiding citizens to carry a concealed firearm in more locations. Both of these bills now await committee assignment in the Senate. Please contact Senate President Ross and politely request that he assign these important pro-gun bills to a favorable Senate committee....

Guns, Mental Illness and Newtown There were 18 random mass shootings in the 1980s, 54 in the 1990s, and 87 in the 2000s. By DAVID KOPEL Has the rate of random mass shootings in the United States increased? Over the past 30 years, the answer is definitely yes. It is also true that the total U.S. homicide rate has fallen by over half since 1980, and the gun homicide rate has fallen along with it. Today, Americans are safer from violent crime, including gun homicide, than they have been at any time since the mid-1960s. Mass shootings, defined as four...
