You know about the complaint many African Americans have about gay men and lesbians equating — in any way — their shared struggle for equal rights with the civil rights movement. Well, going hand-in-hand with that is an annoyance with the seeming one-way nature of the gay appropriation. In other words, the gays want everyone to understand their plight, but they do nothing to lend their voice and support when the blacks could use it. That changed with the killing of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman. On Monday, 23 groups representing the varied concerns of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender...

MTV is now trying to lure young viewers with a saucy sex show in the "advice" category. They didn't reach for Dr. Drew or God forbid Dr. Ruth or an actual doctor of anything. They turned to filthy sex columnist and gay activist Dan Savage. The new show is called "Savage U," and it documents Savage touring college campuses to offer snarky/smutty advice to college students. This is MTV's libertine ideology pitched right at children, and Savage is blunt about how he'll be going around the parents. Savage explained to the Los Angeles Times that, "The idea is we're going...

A gay couple will use the traditional White House Easter Egg roll Monday to lobby President Obama to sign an executive order banning workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation. Jarrod Scarbrough and Les Sewell of New Mexico, partners for 18 years, will bring their eight-year-old daughter to the event to try to influence Mr. Obama on the proposed order that would cover federal contractors. "I work for a federal contractor, and there's a piece of paper sitting on President Obama's desk that would give me a little more security for my family," Mr. Scarbrough, who works for United Healthcare, said...

A counselor at the Starting Place, a drug and rehabilitation treatment facility in Plantation, accused of sexually assaulting teen has taken a plea deal. In court Thursday Raphael Castillo, 44, pled guilty to sexual battery on a minor. In exchange, he was given a ten year sentence. Castillo’s lawyer, Joshua Sheskin said the change of plea was the best thing to do given the nature of the evidence. He pointed out that while Castillo pled guilty it was not an admission of guilt.

Today at 5:30 p.m. members of “ACT UP” and other anti-Catholic groups have announced they will descend on San Francisco’s Mission Dolores Church and place ashes from AIDS victims on the landmark church’s steps to protest what they claim is the complicity of the Catholic Church in the deadly epidemic. Mission Dolores was founded on June 29, 1776, the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, by Franciscan friars under the leadership of the Fr. Francisco Palou and the direction of Fr. Junipero Serra. It is the oldest Catholic church in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, and the oldest building in...

What happens when an evil man is interviewed by a know-nothing interviewer from a corrupt and decadent faux news agency? ---- Asked about homosexuality and the Bible, Carter had this to say: “Homosexuality was well-known in the ancient world, well before Christ was born, and Jesus never said a word about homosexuality. In all of his teachings about multiple things – he never said that gay people should be condemned. I personally think it is very fine for gay people to be married in civil ceremonies.” Wait a minute! Isn’t Jesus God? And didn’t God inspire the Bible? Just because...

I know, I know — no politician is perfect. Heck, none of us is perfect, obviously. Far from it. That said, the main thing that bothers me about GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney — no, it's not his affiliation with Mormonism, although you should take a look at RenewAmerica.com president and editor Stephen Stone's new e-book A Mormon Story: Authoritarianism Knows No Bounds (click here) — is his seemingly cozy relationship with the homosexual lobby, as evidenced in the book Mitt Romney's Deception: His Stealth Promotion of 'Gay Rights' and 'Gay Marriage' in Massachusetts, authored by pro-family activist Amy Contrada....

TORONTO, Ontario, April 4, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Catholic schools will no longer be allowed to teach the Catechism’s doctrine that homosexual acts are “intrinsically disordered,” says a cabinet minister in Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty’s government. As politicians debated a bill that would force Catholic schools to launch gay clubs on March 29th, Member of Provincial Parliament Glen Murray (Toronto Centre) lashed out against Ontario’s bishops over Catholic teaching on homosexuality. “I have to say to the bishops: ‘You’re not allowed to do that anymore,’” said Murray, an open homosexual who serves as McGuinty’s Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, according...

For over a decade, Brian Johnson has peaceably passed out Bibles during Minneapolis’ Twin Cities Pride Festival, but if he tries it again this year, he fears, he could be arrested. Through some clever legal wrangling, Twin Cities Pride, the organizers of the annual festival celebrating homosexuality, have convinced the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board to allow them to exile anyone attempting to distribute Bibles or communicate unapproved messages at the event to a “no pride zone” far away from the festivities. Now Johnson is filing a federal lawsuit against the Board, claiming it can’t banish First Amendment free speech...

As Mitt Romney prepares for his second presidential campaign and gay marriage threatens to undermine America’s Judeo-Christian culture, there’s a raging debate about the role he played in instituting gay marriage in Massachusetts during his gubernatorial term. This is important because Governor Romney has positioned himself as a champion of traditional values and claims to have been an opponent of homosexual marriage his entire career. When the Massachusetts Supreme Court issued a decision in favor of homosexual marriage, — the Goodridge case — Romney unilaterally ordered his state agencies to implement homosexual marriage in Massachusetts. The court did not order...

Russian lawmakers have submitted a bill that would impose fines for spreading gay "propaganda" among minors, setting up a tolerance test for the Kremlin-controlled parliament ahead of Vladimir Putin's inauguration as president. The bill echoes local laws whose adoption in cities including St. Petersburg has drawn an outcry from human rights and gay activists, who say they could be used to clamp down on the gay community. It would impose fines of up to 5,000 roubles ($170) on individuals and up to 500,000 roubles ($17,000) on companies for spreading "propaganda of homosexualism" among minors. Critics say that while ostensibly targeting...

Every since Mitt Romney first tossed his hat into the presidential sweepstakes in 2007, he has repeatedly maintained that he opposes same-sex marriages and has always portrayed himself as a champion of traditional marriage. However, in an incident that has gone mostly unreported, Romney, as Governor of Massachusetts, personally issued at least 189 one-day special marriage licenses to same-sex couples in 2005. He likely issued a similar number of licenses in both 2004 and 2006 but the state records for these years are not easily available. One-day marriage licenses are in effect permits issued to a couple allowing them...

A jettisoning of the faith, one mis-action at a timeLittle by little, the foundation of faith in The Episcopal Church is being reduced to ruins and the once grand colonial church of the Reformation is being progressively transformed into a social action agency. The latest proposed element to chip away at core Anglican beliefs is the Diocese of East Oregon's desire to offer Holy Communion to anyone who approaches the altar rail with their hands upraised. Baptism would not be a prerequisite. The Diocese of East Oregon has made it a matter of Communion without Baptism. Apparently, it was the...

MONROVIA, Liberia (AP) -- An anti-gay group in Liberia distributed fliers over the weekend with a hit list of people who support gay rights, and one member of the group threatened to "get to them one by one." The fliers mark the latest development in an increasingly hostile national debate about gay rights in this country on Africa's western coast.

As the nation faces a crucial election in a little over six months, the Republican Party appears to be caving in on a social issue that many conservatives consider of major import: same-sex marriage. What the GOP felt strongly enough about some 16 years ago to lead the fight for passage of the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), many members are beginning to consider an issue open to compromise. Not only do many Republican House and Senate members consider “gay” marriage a “dead issue,” according to Politico.com, but Republican leadership has “evolved” to the point that it has quietly...

Several Tea Party groups across Massachusetts are dividing into two camps — those who want to focus on conservative economic issues and others who want to expand into social issues, such as illegal immigration and gay rights. lllustrating that split is a pair of competing April 15 Tea Party rallies — a Tax Day rally in Worcester with speakers focusing on the budget and taxes, and a Patriot Day rally on Boston Common, which also includes speeches from a voter ID advocate and the Rev. Scott Lively, a fierce public critic of gay rights. But both sides told the Herald...
