Flag-waving supporters of all ages filled every corner of the Valencia Boulevard/McBean Parkway intersection for about three hours Saturday, their "Support America's Troops" signs eliciting a steady chorus of honking horns from passing motorists. One Vietnam veteran tossed an Iraqi flag off the curb and watched, to the delight of many, as cars ran it over and left it in tatters. "In the '60s, all (America) had was antiwar demonstrations. But people need to be aware that we weren't just baby killers," said Vern Pera, who had served in the Army in Vietnam. "People are able to do what they...

1,200 turn out with flags in square; 300 opponents show at Central Library Nearly 1,200 supporters of a war against Iraq withstood heavy snow and bitter winds Saturday to stage a rally at Cathedral Square in downtown Milwaukee. About a mile west, nearly 300 assembled inside the Milwaukee Public Library in a rally for peace and celebration of International Women's Day. Views at both rallies reflected the national debate that continues as the world watches the U.S. buildup of nearly 300,000 troops on the borders of Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Polls show most Americans support President Bush but would like the...

For the past 3 weeks, we have been having small pro-war rallies at a park here in La Palma, California. Although there weren't many of us, we sure were able to get a lot of support from passerbyers and drivers. We emphasize that the rally is PRO-WAR, and not a "support our troops" rally, as suggested by many. There are several of us, mostly all students from JFK High School, and we are educated and aware enough to know that WAR is the only feasible solution for the Iraqi situation. Supporting our troops is very necessary, but even those who...

It seems the media is starting to realize there are two sides to every story...tonight on CNN after a short blurb about the pinko's spewing their hate towards America in DC today they had an extended clip of the Pro-War rally in Pittsburgh.  To everyone who attended thank you as you looked great and in large volume!!  They showed the crowd saying the pledge of allegiance and a big sign saying "It's okay to love your country."Later, on a local broadcast here in Westchester county that ungrateful Mexican immigrant who works for CNN, Maria Hinjoshinjo (or whatever the hell her...

Hundreds of people rallied Saturday in cities around the nation in support of, and against, a possible war with Iraq. But leaders of at least one group, demonstrating in biker boots and chaps, insisted they weren't taking sides. "This isn't pro-war, this isn't anti-war. It's just 100 percent support for the troops," said Amy Miller, an employee of Cycle Source Magazine, a national motorcycling publication that helped sponsor a rally in Pittsburgh's Point State Park. The crowd, estimated by police at 1,500 and by organizers at 2,500, waved flags, sang anthems and mixed in red, white and blue with all...

Once again today two hundred odd peace protestors, anarchists and America-haters gathered at the junction of Hwy 51 and 70 in north central Wisconsin. I arrived scotto voce at 10am. By 10:30, the bulk of the useful idiots had gone home. I sincerely believe that the strong positive vocal support of vechicular traffic for Old Glory and my signs caused these folks to turn tail and run. I only had to explain the difference between assult and battery to one persistant idiot.

Members of the DC Chapter of Free Republic are conducting a surprise FReep of the March for Peace organized by NOW and the Code Pink Ladies and it is going on as I type. The Now and Code Pink Ladies will be joined by Raelian women (and Raelian men in touch with their feminine side) who plan a disrobing ceremony in front of the White House. Reports from the scene tell me that there's a bunch of Howard Stern fans who came to the White House today for the unveiling. Positioned on the North side of Lafayette Park, inside the...

We had a beautiful day for the PIttsburgh Rally for Freedom at point state park. Some early birds like Badray gathered on the remains of the ramparts of Fort Pitt between ten and eleven. My son (prisoner6sson) and I were going to take the west busway. We waited for the 10AM bus but it never came. Dittos with the 10:20. It turned out the bridge that passes over the busway near my house decided to start falling apart and so there was basically no bus service. Luckily Daughter got home from dance school with the van so we jumped in...
