Paris Text out — a quick discussion — More bureaucrats, more money, but there is an exit. The December 12th Draft on UN web site.h/t Andrew McRae and Pat in commentsHere are some rough preliminary thoughts on the latest version of the COP21 document. The Australian ABC news made it sound like Moses was just about to come back from the Mount. “There were tears!â€.James Hansen, though called Paris talks ‘a fraud’“It’s a fraud really, a fake,†he says, rubbing his head. “It’s just bullshit for them to say: ‘We’ll have a 2C warming target and then try to do a...

Climate Skeptics on ‘historic’ UN treaty: ‘Does this mean we never have to hear about ‘solving’ global warming again!?’ Climate Depot's Marc Morano: 'Now that the United Nations has officially 'solved' man-made global warming, does this mean we never have to hear about 'global warming' fears again!? Does this mean we can halt the endless supply of federal tax dollars funding 'climate change' studies? Does this mean we can stop worrying about 'global warming's' ability to end civilization and cause wars, and increase prostitution, bar room brawls, rape, airline turbulence, etc.? Can we finally move on to other issues? I...

COP21 won’t get a meaningful agreement, but they will get “breakthrough success†Don’t think China, India and Russia can save us. They won’t give up fossil fuels in a meaningful way, but they all have a price and buying them off is a lot cheaper than you might think. That’s because the goal is not for them to reduce CO2, but only for them to give the appearance of doing so.It’s not about CO2, but about PR Paris is a theatre– a grand show, and China’s Vice Foreign Minister Liu Jianmin said as much. He “laughed when the ‘High Ambition Coalition’...

66% of pledges have nothing to do with the climate. Billions in claims “inflated†Everything about Climate Fear is just PR You will never guess. Not only does no one care if carbon credits don’t cut carbon emissions, but hardly anyone cares if so called climate money is even spent on the climate. As many as 66% of climate projects funded by the developed world have nothing to do with “climate vulnerabilityâ€.It’s the bragging game — politicians want to make out they are doing a lot for the climate, but there’s barely any accountability to check whether they get value...

LE BOURGET, France — With the sudden bang of a gavel Saturday night, representatives of 195 countries reached a landmark climate accord that will, for the first time, commit nearly every country to lowering planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions to help stave off the most drastic effects of climate change. Delegates who have been negotiating intensely in this Paris suburb for two weeks gathered for the final plenary session, where Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius of France asked for opposition to the deal and, hearing none, declared it approved. With that, the delegates achieved what had been unreachable for two decades: a consensus...

LE BOURGET, France (AP) - The latest on the U.N. climate conference outside Paris (all times local): The White House is calling the Paris accord "the most ambitious climate change agreement in history" and says it establishes "a long-term, durable global framework" to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. President Barack Obama is to make a statement on the climate agreement later Saturday at the White House.

The Paris climate talks have mostly wound to an end. There are still a few details to clean up over the weekend, but we’re being told that representatives from hundreds of nations have come together and are prepared to release their final agreement on how to save the world from climate change. Or maybe not: even as of this morning nobody seemed to be able to agree as to whether or not there was an agreement. (CNN) “Obviously, nobody will get 100% of what they want,†French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said Friday as he discussed the “balanced and as...

President Obama’s clean energy program included $36 billion in taxpayer funding, more than double that of the previous administration, and a lot of that money went into electric cars. Obama touted his decision to use federal stimulus money to “invest†heavily into electric cars and clean energy at the climate summit in Paris this week, saying his administration has “met our goals a lot quicker than expected.†But investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson delved into the program in her latest production of Full Measure and found the program’s goals are actually way behind. In her segment titled “Electric cars running on...

One of the guns linked to Islamic militants in the Paris attacks that killed 130 people was exported to the United States in 2013, the head of a Serbian arms factory said Thursday. Milojko Brzakovic of the Zastava arms factory told The Associated Press that the M92 semi-automatic pistol’s serial number matched one his company delivered to an American online arms dealer in May 2013. It was not clear how the gun got back to Europe.

The draft of the international agreement to deal with climate change, which is being considered today in Paris by representatives from 195 countries, calls for the developed nations of the world to transfer wealth to developing nations, including through "public funds." "Developed country Parties shall provide financial resources to assist developing country Parties with respect to both mitigation and adaptation in continuation of their existing obligations under the Convention," says Article 9 of the draft agreement. "As part of a global effort, developed country Parties should continue to take the lead in mobilizing climate finance from a wide variety of...

Sometime round about now the negotiators at the Paris COP21 climate conference will be thrashing out the final details agreement which will make no measurable difference to “climate change†but will definitely cost all of us a great deal of money.

After the latest Paris terror attack, French President Hollande swore he’d go after radical Muslims who pulled off the mass slayings. Now, we’re learning what he meant by that. As HotAir reports: “[T]he French have kicked in the doors on 2,235 homes and taken 232 people into custody or placed them on house arrest.†In the sleepy French town of Lagny-sur-Marne, just 18 miles from Paris …French police went to the local mosque where they found: The Salafist mosque in Lagny-sur-Marne, about 30km east of the French capital was closed down by police on 2 December. In subsequent raids the...

Paul Driessen and Roger Bezdek Paris climate talks this week descended into madcap all-night negotiations, as delegates desperately tried to salvage some kind of agreement beyond mere pledges to do something sometime (soon) about what President Obama insists is the gravest threat to our planet, national security and future generations. He gets far more energized about slashing energy use than about Islamist terrorism, even after the Paris and San Bernardino butchery. Determined for once to lead from upfront, he took a 500-person greenhouse gas-spewing entourage to the City of Light, and personally called Prime Minister Modi to discuss India's and...

LE BOURGET, France (AP) -- France presented negotiators from 190 nations with what it called a "final draft" of an unprecedented climate deal to slow global warming and urged them to approve it on Saturday. The deal, called the "Paris agreement," would limit rising temperatures and sea levels, and eventually hold man-made emissions to the levels that nature can absorb. If the pact is approved, nations would be committed to keeping the rise in global temperatures by the year 2100 compared with pre-industrial times "well below" 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) and "endeavor to limit" them even more, to...

A Senate committee on Thursday approved a resolution that critics described as an "unprecedented" move granting immigrants easier access to the United States. The amendment, offered by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D., Vt.) and first reported on by the Washington Free Beacon, affirms the Senate's belief "that the United States must not bar individuals from entering into the United States based on their religion, as such action would be contrary to the fundamental principles on which this Nation was founded." The language was offered in response to recent comments from a presidential candidate who called on Muslims to be barred from...

Gov. Jerry Brown, at the conclusion of a speech here Tuesday, was heckled by a group of protesters opposed to carbon offset programs they said could hurt indigenous people. Brown, accompanied by several South American governors at a 19th century mansion in Paris, had finished brief remarks urging further efforts to counteract climate change when protesters started yelling, “No REDD.â€

Source: CFACT's own Marc Morano, hero of the Climate Hustle documentary film. The Senate will not approve or appropriate money for anything President Obama might agree to in Paris, and developing countries will not (and should not) stop building coal-fired power plants and using fossil fuels to lift billions out of abject poverty. However, we cannot let down our guard. Mr. Obama will do everything possible to go around Congress and impose more Executive Branch anti-hydrocarbon edicts, to get a hypothetical, undetectable 0.05 degree reduction in average global temperatures 85 years from now. Meanwhile, the $1.5-trillion-per-year Climate Crisis Industry is determined...

WASHINGTON - Many of President Obama's Democratic allies in Congress say they do not believe he is being aggressive enough in confronting the terrorist threat of the Islamic State after last week's attacks in California, undermining Americans' sense of safety, especially among voters who will decide the party's fate in elections next year. The concerns began to surface last month, when senior administration officials went to Capitol Hill to urge Democrats to reject a bill to curb a Syrian refugee program and were rebuffed. That hostility grew with their increasingly uncomfortable efforts to defend Mr. Obama's strategies in the Middle...
