America ~ Our Rebirth ~ Come to me Beloved Land Hewn of truth in heart and hand For the time has come for us each as Man To uphold Freedom by our stand By our labors in the field In our factories shaping steel In our minds with hope annealed We stamped our land with Freedom’s seal So America we come to thee For all the things we know can be For in your azure eyes we see Your greatness for Man’s liberty In your mountains high and valleys low Strewn with rivers lakes and snow We live our lives...

Anyone who has attended a TEA Party event has been in the presence of real patriots. Looking around you see the face of America. You see people who love our country and will fight to restore and defend the freedoms they understand do not come cheaply. What you don’t see are whinny “progressives” who want to tear down America and remake her into a socialist gulag. With rare exceptions you don’t see “academics” or Hollywood types. The people standing shoulder to shoulder with you are men and women you might meet at a Home Depot on Saturday afternoon or sit...

Good song/video, looks like Tea Party footage. I'm sure the guys won't mind watching the singer. Some interesting looking videos on the side list, too. "I've got a feeling the tide is turning"--I'm praying so. Happy Independence Day, everyone!

Today is Flag Day. Our flag was first adopted by resolutions during the 2nd Continental Congress on June 14, 1777, so our flag is 10 yrs older than the nation itself. Fly it proudly today. Celebrate the freedoms it represents, and remember those who have sacrificed to keep us free. God bless America. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hss6kWXIiEY

The new album from North Carolina country singer Rockie Lynne, Songs for Soldiers, is, if anything, a patriotic album chock full of songs praising the military, the sacrifices they make and their love of America. Lynne, who served in the U.S. Army and said “the military turned out to be the most shaping experience of my life, on so many levels. I learned perseverance, self-discipline and respect for self and others.” Knowing that about Lynne, when you listen to the 11 tracks on Songs for Soldiers, released this week, his delivery on each songs sounds that much more authentic. “Proud...

"Honor, justice, and humanity, forbid us tamely to surrender that freedom which we received from our gallant ancestors, and which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us. We cannot endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations to that wretchedness which inevitably awaits them if we basely entail hereditary bondage on them." --Thomas Jefferson Across our great nation, there is a groundswell of protest against the leftist agenda of those now holding power in the Executive and Legislative branches of the central government. The tenor of this grassroots movement is growing louder as its number swells...

In just a month since its official launch, a new Web site MadeInUSA has signed up more than 350,000 U.S.-based companies looking to encourage consumers to "be American and buy American." Creators of the site hope to ensure that as many jobs as possible stay in the U.S. rather than be outsourced overseas. For 50 years now, Mountain and Sackett, a tie manufacturer with a plant in Long Island City, N.Y., has made ties mostly by hand. Some 50 employees, some who have been with the company for decades, stitch meticulously for 40 hours a week. They get health care...

Rapper Hi Caliber, who performed at the Taxpayer March on Washington, just came out with a new rap about the March. This should be the protest movement's anthem going forward. Conservative rapper, Hi-Caliber, the only rapper to rock on Capitol Hill at the 9/12 Tax Payer’s March on Washington D.C....

I was reading through links and articles about the kids singing to Obama (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2346764/posts) and came across this. I don't know who did it but it was incredibly moving. It takes a few seconds to start. Enjoy

Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) on Wednesday said it was residents' "patriotic duty" to get seasonal flu shots in coming weeks to make it easier for health officials to determine if outbreaks are related to H1N1, or swine flu. If residents do not get vaccinated against seasonal strains and later get sickened by them as a result, there will be little way to determine if those falling ill this fall and winter have been infected by less worrisome strains, or by the more contagious H1N1 virus, O'Malley said. The governor characterized that scenario as serious because it could stress supplies...

Here is video of the "Political Grapevine" in which one of the stories was about the House of Representatives restoring patriotic music to their telephone waiting system. The music had been changed to a "smooth jazz" by the House Chief Administrative Officer, who reports to Nancy Pelosi. But they got so much negative feedback, they abruptly restored the patriotic music. The part about this story starts at 56 seconds left (if you want to skip the other). (Watch Video)

I seem to remember an excellent medley of US Service songs and other patriotic songs which were synced up to a sideshow showing pictures of the various branches of the military and other patriotic themes. It was very long but very well done and was on someone's personal site. If anyone knows what I am talking about it would be great, if not post some other interesting items for the 4th of July.

Can anyone recommend some websites where I can download free patriotic music for the 4th? I'm guessing Susa, military marches, themes of the armed forces, that kind of thing?

What a difference an inauguration makes. It was only a few months ago that "dissent is the highest form of patriotism" was still the rage among the elite, liberal, "tolerant" class. But then Barack Obama became president. And now, suddenly, dissenters are paranoid, violent extremists worthy of surveillance by the federal Department of Homeland Security. Returning war veterans, who tend to be conservative and believe that terrorists ought to be called terrorists, need to be watched. Average working Americans who held polite "Tea Party" protests on April 15 against confiscatory taxes and rampant government spending — protests marked by a...

Cemetery Escort Duty I just wanted to get the day over with and go down to Smokey's. Sneaking a look at my watch, I saw the time, 1655. Five minutes to go before the cemetery gates are closed for the day. Full dress was hot in the August sun. Oklahoma summertime was as bad as ever--the heat and humidity at the same level--both too high. I saw the car pull into the drive, '69 or '70 model Cadillac Deville, looked factory-new. It pulled into the parking lot at a snail's pace. An old woman got out so slow I thought...
