The European Jewish Congress (EJC) called Wednesday for the Greek Orthodox church to remove the Metropolite of Piraeus, Seraphim, after the high-ranking priest sounded an anti-Semitic rant on Greek TV. Speaking on the morning show on Mega-TV, the largest television station in Greece, Seraphim blamed world Jewry for Greece's financial problems. "Mixing Freemasons with Jewish bankers such as Baron Rothschild and world Zionism, the Metropolite said that there is a conspiracy to enslave Greece and Christian Orthodoxy," JTA reported. He also accused "international Zionism" of trying to destroy the family unit by promoting one-parent families and same-sex marriages. Thirteen minutes...

The group "No Labels" kicked off its first conference Monday at New York's Columbia University with just one label largely absent: "Republican."The non-partisan initiative with the slogan, "Not Left. Not Right. Forward", is seeking to fill what the American people regularly tell pollsters is the vital center: a non-ideological space where the commitment is to getting things done. And its speakers—who ranged from Republican moderates like ex-Virginia Rep. Tom Davis to liberal Democrats like New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand—sang the praises of cooperation and compromise. But the only Republicans present at Columbia University's modern, square Alfred Lerner Hall seemed...

At the height of the health care reform debate last fall, Bill Sammon, Fox News' controversial Washington managing editor, sent a memo directing his network's journalists not to use the phrase "public option." Instead, Sammon wrote, Fox's reporters should use "government option" and similar phrases -- wording that a top Republican pollster had recommended in order to turn public opinion against the Democrats' reform efforts.... Two months prior to Sammon's 2009 memo, Republican pollster Frank Luntz appeared on Sean Hannity's August 18 Fox News program. Luntz scolded Hannity for referring to the "public option" and encouraged Hannity to use "government option" instead....

Those who deal with Orioles designated hitter Luke Scott on a daily basis know the deal: Scott is one of the nicer, happier guys in baseball. He is also one of the most outspoken players about things he believes strongly in. That starts with religion and his Christian beliefs. He is also a huge Second Amendment supporter – and has gone on national TV on multiple occasions about the right to carry guns. And he is a big right-wing conservative. Oftentimes he’ll share his opinions in the clubhouse. He says things matter-of-factly, and those around him have come to accept...

To say that Phil Davison is passionate about the state of the treasurer's office in Stark County, Ohio might be the understatement of the year. The Republican -- "I have been a Republican in times good, and I have been a Republican in times bad!" he declares -- was seeking his party's nomination to be county treasurer and made a somewhat crazed plea for his party's approval this week. Davison, a Minvera, Ohio councilman, lost the nomination to North Canton Finance Director Alex Zumbar,

China's top-ranking UN diplomat embarked on a drunken rant against the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, telling his boss he'd "never liked" him, and adding for good measure that he didn't like Americans either. The outburst by Sha Zukang at a retreat for top UN officials in the Austrian ski resort of Alpbach left senior UN officials cringing in embarrassment as others tried to convince him to put down the microphone, according to Washington-based Foreign Policy magazine. "I know you never liked me Mr. Secretary-General – well, I never liked you, either," said Mr Sha as Mr Ban looked on, smiling...

RE: Rangel's RantPosted by Jay Newton-Small Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 4:45 pm The Speaker Pro Tempore: For what purpose does the gentleman from New York seek recognition? The house will be in order. Members will take their seats. The house will be in order. Members will please clear the aisles. The chair is aware of a valid basis for the gentleman's point of personal privilege. The gentleman from New York is recognized for one hour … Rangel: I rise to the floor because the newspapers and the media have indicated that there's a concern of some of the members...

CNBC’s Rick Santelli, who first burst out onto the scene with his famous “class rant” which also called for the formation of the tea party movement, came out once again with another classic rant.

For over a generation, the left has been lying to (and sometimes abusing) us (and our children) in public schools. They've insinuated themselves and their complete rebellion against any moral standard into our institutions: business, media, academia, government. Now they're abusing the highest offices in the land and wreaking domestic and geopolitical havoc, making this great land a laughingstock and whipping boy for the nations. There is no assurance that America will ever recover from the damage these worms have done. So, why do we allow it?

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama needs to wake up to the fact that the nation’s school systems are going down the drain. Thousands of teachers are facing a payless summer. Millions of school children are looking at a drop in educational standards and bigger classes. We are depriving students of their right to a decent education. Granted that school systems are under state control, the federal government needs to step up and help them overcome their financial woes. Aren’t the schools too important to fail? U.S. priorities are to spend billions every week for the unjustified and unexplained wars in...

When rubber must meet road, the GOP is as clear as the mud in a Louisiana swamp. Oh, they talk a good game; but, in the end, they act no different than the Democrats. Somewhere in Washington D.C. there must exist a vast graveyard of detached spines... since I have yet to encounter a sitting Republican who is still in possession of his, and the Democrats never had one to begin with … except when it comes to screwing the American people – then they are indefatigable juggernauts, while the Republicans practice their knitting. The GOP is infested by a...

WTH is going on here? Is this really that important? Every news channel is waiting for his press conference.....CNBC even has people talking about how this will affect endorsements. It's not like we hav a corrupt government, housing crisis, massive unemployment, two wars or anything! Pathetci does not begin to describe it. Who cares what this person has to say? Am I the only one who is disgusted?

Editor’s note: We found this note on a Web site being pointed at by social media users. A search showed the domain that the note was posted on is registered to Joe Stack of San Marcos. A man by the same name, who has addresses in both Austin and San Marcos has been linked to today’s airplane crash. If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, “Why did this have to happen?” The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time. The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be...

"This is being touted all over the web as Mr. Stacks Last statement". It Reads: If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, “Why did this have to happen?” The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time. The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken.

I write to you out of utter disdain! You are as despicable and un-American as the traitor Jane Fonda. I am a soon to be 65 year-old who has voted in every state and local election since 1966. I have voted for both Republicans and Democrats alike. I have worked on campaigns for both Republicans and Democrats, white and black. I served the country that I love in Vietnam, as my son did in the Middle East. I was awarded two bronze stars. I have been involved in politics since age 6 when my father was campaign manager for a...

When did kids stop saying thank you for all the candy they're getting. I am running about 1 in 4 of the kids saying thank you, and I am not talking about the little ones either. Only about half are even saying trick or treat. I also saw some parents following the kids in their car, and I am on a small circle street. Are they just too lazy to walk with the kids?
