During the trial it was explained that bruising would not be visible on Martin's hands because he was dead before bruises had time to form. I think this was part of Dr. DiMaio's testimony but I haven't been able to find that part in video form.Does anyone know where I can find this?

Trayvon Martin is dead, George Zimmerman has been acquitted, and millions of people are outraged. Some politicians are demanding a second prosecution of Zimmerman, this time for hate crimes. Others are blaming the tragedy on “Stand Your Ground” laws, which they insist must be repealed. Many who saw the case as proof of racism in the criminal justice system see the verdict as further confirmation. Everywhere you look, people feel vindicated in their bitter assumptions. They want action. But that’s how Martin ended up dead. It’s how Zimmerman ended up with a bulletproof vest he might have to wear for...

When the Sanford, Florida PD investigated George Zimmerman 's claims of self defense all the evidence supported his claims. They handled the case exactly as they would any similar case. When a mob appeared threatening to burn Sanford to the ground Sanford's gutless and spineless City Commissioners told the chief of police to throw Zimmerman to the mob, we don't want our windows broken or our customers scared away. The chief stood up for the law, as he was sworn to do and they fired him. They demoted the lead investigator because he would not lie for them. The noise...

There should be little doubt in the mind of any clear thinking person that the Zimmerman prosecution was entirely political in it's origin and process. Cut the the noise from the minority (black) community, it's leaders, the media and the co-dependent left and we are left with one singular immutable fact......George Zimmerman was getting the crap kicked out of him by a younger, stronger, more physically proficient young "man" and he reacted as any rational person would, he protected himself from serious bodily harm or even death with the only tool at his disposal. It wouldn't have mattered if he...

Well, if the Zimmerman trial has shown us nothing else, it has shown us what would have happened if Nicole Simpson or Ronald Goldman had had access to a gun the day OJ Simpson killed them. And let's not pretend he didn't. What's more, let's not pretend that those black Americans who did celebrate with jubilation when OJ walked didn't know full well he was a killer. Many admitted it openly then, and still do today. But that was the last time a trial held such attention for such obviously racial reasons. The celebrations when OJ got away with murder...

NOTE: As of this writing the jury was deliberating and cable news networks were “filling time with wild speculation from media ordained experts” who know as much about what’s happening in the jury room as a coin-toss. The jury could come in at any time between hitting “send” noon on Saturday and this going live at midnight Sunday. Can I just say something controversial that must be said? I don’t care about the George Zimmerman trial. I don’t, not even a little. That’s not to say I don’t feel sorry for those involved who’ve lost a loved one, I do....

When African Americans don't get their desired result in court - the verdict is always racist. Yet, if the ethnicities in the Zimmerman trial had been reversed, they would have proclaimed the verdict as a great day for America. It is time that they take a long, hard look in the mirror and ask just WHO exactly the racists are. When things go in their favor, they are model citizens. When they don't, they fall back upon the racial oppression that their forebearers faced. Talk about a double standard. It is time for them to get over it. Sure, from...

SANFORD, Fla. - Minutes after George Zimmerman was found not guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, police surrounded the community where the unarmed teen was shot and killed. Police swarmed the Retreat at Twin Lakes, a gated community in Sanford, as a precaution following the verdict, which was delivered late Saturday after the jury deliberated for nearly 15 hours. "There is no party in this case who wants to see any violence," Seminole County Sheriff Don Eslinger said immediately after jurors began deliberating. "We have an expectation upon this announcement that our community will continue to...

Lawyers and media go into full "what does it mean" mode when during deliberations the jury sends out a question. The lawyers' legs turn to noodles while they wait for the Judge to read the question(s) posed. (A lot can be speculated by jurors' questions.) The process goes something like this: - Jurors agree on the question. They write it on to a piece of paper. (No e-mail, texts, or electronic means used to communicate the question.) - A juror hands it to the deputy / bailiff posted at the jury room door. - The bailiff walks it to the...

LIVINGSTON - A Polk County District Court Judge has admitted in a letter to the Texas State Bar that she acted improperly while serving as an Assistant District Attorney. Local 2 Investigates obtained a copy of the April 29, 2013 letter signed by Kaycee L. Jones, 411th Judicial District Judge. The crux of the issue is a series of text messages Jones received from Elizabeth Coker, 258th Judicial District Judge, while Coker was on the bench during a trial.

The jury will soon decide the guilt or innocence of George Zimmerman, the man charged with murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, but a verdict will not end the debate about this case that has raged from the beginning. Like the O.J. Simpson trial nearly two decades ago, the Zimmerman trial has become a litmus test on race. And the media have played a major role in pushing race as the underlying issue, to the detriment of all concerned. From the beginning, the media played up the racial angle. People magazine's coverage was typical. A cover story in...

hat the prosecution in the Zimmerman trial asked the judge to allow a verdict of "third-degree murder" -- i.e., child abuse, since Trayvon Martin was 17 -- testifies to the prosecution's failure and panic. For George Zimmerman's defense has proven, beyond a reasonable doubt, that he shot Trayvon Martin not out of malice, rage or hate -- but in a desperate act of self-defense. Zimmerman was being beaten "ground-and-pound," mixed martial arts style. His head was being banged on the cement. Screaming again and again for help, he pulled out his gun and fired. Even the prosecution is now conceding...

The Court has released the final Jury Instructions that will be read to the jury this afternoon. For background on the argument leading up to the instructions, see Zimmerman Trial: The Jury Instructions. If Zimmerman wins, these sections of the Instructions likely will be decisive (full Instructions embedded at bottom of post): JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE The killing of a human being is justifiable and lawful if necessarily done while resisting an attempt to murder or commit a felony upon George Zimmerman, or to commit a felony in any dwelling house in which George Zimmerman was at the time of the attempted...

Late Breaking Zimmerman Trial News Many of you may not know of the recent turn of events that occurred after the trial today. It is not widely reported at this point but the prosecution may have hit upon a face saving charge they believe they can prove. It’s beginning to look like the jaywalking charges may stick. The allegation is that when Zimmerman left his car he failed to cross the street at the prescribed pedestrian crossing placed there for his safety. There is a rumor, not widely distributed I should add, that the prosecution has an eyewitness that is...

The defense team continued on what is expected to be the last day of their presentation of their case. The day began and ended with a bang. This morning Judge Nelson denied the defense’s request to introduce their animated movie as evidence, although they will be permitted to use it for demonstrative purposes during closing. Professor Jacobson covered this breaking news this morning here: [link] Then at the end of Court today the defense rested their case, and it was agreed that the State would present its closing argument tomorrow at 1PM, the defense would present their closing argument on...
