LA PAZ, Bolivia – Villagers in Bolivia's southern highlands buried a man alive in the grave of the woman he is suspected of having raped and murdered, an official said Thursday. Police had identified 17-year-old Santos Ramos as the possible culprit in the attack on 35-year-old Leandra Arias Janco Sunday in a Quechua community near the municipality of Colquechaca, said Jose Luis Barrios, the chief prosecutor in Potosi province where the community is located. Enraged, more than 200 community members seized Ramos and buried him alive alongside his alleged victim Wednesday night, according to Barrios. He said residents on Thursday...

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The attorney for a Big Bear-area camp ranger whose truck was carjacked by Christopher Dorner is expected to file an injunction Friday to prevent a $1.2 million reward from being distributed. Rick Heltebrake claims his 911 call on Feb. 12 led authorities to Dorner’s whereabouts before the quadruple-murder suspect ultimately barricaded himself inside a cabin and took his own life. “I believe it was my call that directly led the end of the largest manhunt in California history,” Heltebrake said. The Los Angeles Police Department announced Tuesday that three parties, excluding, Heltebrake, will split the reward...

Salt Lake City attorney Jesse Trentadue filed a motion Monday asking a federal judge to determine whether he is entitled to limited discovery into the FBI’s “Sensitive Informant Program.” In his motion, Trentadue described the program as one used by the bureau “to recruit and/or place informants on the staffs of members of the United States Congress and perhaps even federal judges, in the national media, within other federal agencies as well as the White House, on defense teams in high-profile federal and/or state criminal prosecutions, inside state and local law enforcement agencies, and even among the clergy of organized...

Last month, Ray Smith was hoping to get together with his son, Sean, whom he had not seen for 15 years. But, it became devastatingly apparent, after seeing a story on CNN about the four Americans killed in Libya, that he would never see his son alive again. “I seen all these coffins come off the plane,” Smith recalled. “Four of them. Then I saw his picture in the corner. They mentioned Sean Smith was one of those killed.” Smith received this gut-wrenching news via television, prior to receiving a call, a form letter and a flag from Undersecretary of...

A police force has apologised to a blind grandfather who was shot in the back with a 50,000-volt taser stun gun after officers mistook his white stick for a samurai sword. Two-time stroke-victim Colin Farmer, 61, said he thought he was being attacked by muggers when he was hit with the weapon by the officer, who then handcuffed the retired company director as he fell to the ground. Officers had been dispatched to Chorley, Lancashire - where Mr Farmer had been on his way to meet friends for a drink in a local restaurant - following reports of a man...

A man named Ken recently called in to a Washington, DC radio talk show discussing the question of abortion after rape. In the midst of a politically charged discussion, his personal story caught the host off guard. Ken explained that he was adopted as an infant, and at age 30, located his birth mother and learned the circumstances of his conception.“Her story was that she was hit over the head with a baseball bat and was raped at 15. So she went away to Catholic Charities, had me, made the brave decision to keep me — and, well, keep me...

Missouri Republican Todd Akin is vowing to continue his Senate campaign, though the question increasingly is: to what purpose? His continuing candidacy is harming the social-conservative wing of the GOP that he claims to be defending. Mitt Romney and other Republican officials sensibly disavowed the Congressman after his recent comment that "legitimate rape" can be a contraceptive. For Mr. Romney, this was something of a Sister Souljah moment—not that he's getting much media credit for it. But rather than leave the race to another Republican who might be able to win, Mr. Akin has since cast himself as a pro-life...

Ashley Moser, 25, was in a critical condition after the shooting and was unaware that her daughter Veronica Moser-Sullivan was among the 12 people who lost their lives when Holmes opened fire during a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises on Friday. As she drifted in and out of consciousness, her family could not bring themselves to say that her daughter had been killed for fear it would worsen her own condition. Yet despite Miss Moser's serious injuries to her neck and abdomen, which are expected to leave her paralysed, her unborn child is reportedly healthy.

DALLAS - "This camera is everything to me," said photographer Stephen Masker. And it almost cost him his life. Masker told Dallas police a group of three or four men riding in a van pulled up while he was shooting pictures of Uptown Station. At gun point, the men demanded his camera -- the one thing he was unwilling to give. "I said, 'What? Like, what are you talking about?'" Masker recalled. "He repeated himself and said, 'Give me your camera.' I said, 'I'm not giving you my camera.'"

When he said, "No," they allegedly grabbed him, threw him in the van and raped him. Socorro spokesman David Garcia said the men...

In his debut PJ Crime column Rob Taylor reveals the painful price of moral relativism. While the big story in conservative circles is the stunning amount of criminality coming out at the Occupy Wall Street protests, I’m shocked there hasn’t been more. The Occupy protesters are — by and large — downwardly mobile, sheltered, white drug users who have joined a variety of fringe movements and refuse to cooperate with police in any criminal matters. In the highly politicized blogosphere where most of these stories are being broken we often call people like these “radicals†or “revolutionaries,†but in the real...
