Margolis first studied the mummy excavated in 1908 while writing her master's thesis in anthropology at George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, D.C. on female pelvic morphology in 2019. "I CT scanned her to obtain her pelvic measurements," Margolis said. "That is when we discovered the second fetus."
The 3D images showed that the remains of a fetus, which no previous records mentioned, had become lodged in the girl's chest. Margolis and David Hunt, co-author of the new study and an anthropologist at GWU, X-rayed the mummy to obtain a clearer picture of the fetal remains.
"When we saw the second fetus we knew we had a unique find and a first for ancient Egyptian archaeology," Margolis said.

Even in an article like this, can’t say babies.
The photo of her head from 1908, before it went missing shows approximately 5 sets of braids stylishly wrapped around her head.
Sad, but what was the Age of Consent then?
“”female pelvic morphology””
UH—OH!!
When Riley Gaines asked Professor Yearwood about identifying male and female remains, he basically stated that there is no such thing as “”female pelvic morphology””
To paraphrase Rush, Yearwood is a glittering example of colossal wokeness.
If Yearwood is a man, Riley should challenge him to the lifting the chair thing that only women can do. (Due to pelvic bone structure).
Hmm - that should be one of the qualifiers to be able to get onto a women’s sports team.
A) You can run, swim, bike faster than x? You made the team!
B) You can jump Y high or throw Z long? You made the team!
C) You can lift the chair? You made the team!
What is lifting the chair thing?

Here is a short video. You take two steps back from a wall, place the top of your head on the wall, pick up the chair and stand up. But, after watching some videos they say it is because women have smaller feet so they are closer to the wall which helps keep their center of mass closer to the chair.
IDK - I figured it had something to do with the pelvis.
had become lodged in the girl’s chest.
Wait...what? How?
I doubt it was even a concept then.
Girls got married when a suitable husband was found, typically at adolescence.
Watch the whole video. They explain it’s because women have shorter feet so they wind up closer to the wall.
When the husband stands at exactly the same distance as wife, he can do it too.
I get the explanation - but I don’t know. The guy is taller too. Although that might put him at the disadvantage because his center of mass is higher.

Heh - here is another similar challenge. Most women can do it because their center of gravity is lower. Probably due to extra mass around their hips - or their pelvis. A woman’s pelvis is wider and shorter than a man’s. That would seem to be a key factor there with regard to center of mass.
Another article was saying how most men have more mass (muscle?) in their upper body than women.
Probably during the mummification process, which involves removing a number of organs.
I’m guessing the mummification process. They ripped out all the viscera that could decompose and probably pushed the fetus up there.
Oooh, you’re talking two sexes and that’s gonna get you in trouuuuuble!
One would think twins would be desirable as that’d get the husband more kids. Midwives would probably not look forward to birthing twins in those days.
“...had become lodged in the girl’s chest.”
Maybe a triplet? I read somewhere that back in the day (before modern medicine), triplets were often a death sentence for the mother. The third baby would normally be so far up in the abdomen that it couldn’t be safely delivered.
I offer this knowing nothing more about the mommy mummy in question.
“Ancient Egyptian teenager died while giving birth to twins, mummy reveals”
Mummies can TALK?
Lodged in the girl’s chest? Now that should be a headline!
