Leading Astronomers: Oumuamua Is ‘Alien Probe With Broken Engines,’ Could Have Hostile Intentions

A leading astronomer studying the origins of the space object known as Oumuamua has come out declaring it’s an alien probe with broken engines. Dr. Jason Wright claims that Oumuamua’s movement is that of a craft that has lost power to its engines.

Right now, leading scientists are studying the odd “cigar-shaped” object which originated outside of our solar system. Teams lead by renowned physicist, Stephen Hawking, are attempting to discover whether or not Oumuamua is alien or natural. If a radio signal is detected later today, scientists will “proceed with caution.”

Professor Avi Loeb, Professor of Astronomy at Harvard University, sais: “My recommendation, as in any dialogue, is that we first listen and do our best to understand what we are hearing. Once we figure this out, we can decide how to respond,” he said. “Overall, I am an optimist. I believe that a very intelligent civilization will be peaceful, and we could save ourselves millions or billions of years by learning from it. But there is also the possibility that such a civilization will have hostile intentions and risk our existence, so we should deliberate carefully in any future contact with them.”

According to the Daily Mail, Dr. Wright from Penn State University is already declaring it a spacecraft. Oumuamua is about a quarter of a mile long, 260 feet wide, and currently traveling at 196,000 mph. Rather than moving through space like other natural space rocks, astronomers believe that it is “tumbling” through our solar system.

‘”Such derelict craft would, if they are not traveling so fast that they escape the Galaxy, eventually ‘thermalize’ with the stars and end up drifting around like any other interstellar comet or asteroid,” Dr. Wright wrote in his blog. “In fact, since they (presumably) no longer have altitude

I know Disney has a huge advertising budget for its Star Wars movies, but this is getting ridiculous.

The last time the aliens checked on us, Clinton was POTUS. They probably figured a “first contact” gift in the shape of a cigar would be appreciated. Seems reasonable.

The electromagnetic spectrum is the only medium they could broadcast on. Besides, anything we'd be picking up now would be from long ago, so it is not a stretch to image that they leaked radio comm like we are doing now.

If they aren't using electromagnetic communication, then they would be using something we've only put into science fiction. Odd, though, that most everything in yesterday's science fiction is in today's pocket. These are always fun brain teasers.

Have you seen the "Key To The Extraterrestrial Messages", published by the NSA? There were apparently 29 messages received by SETI that were partially decoded. One was the Periodic Table of the Elements. It is a real document that I downloaded from NSA's public web site.

I wonder if they call people like you who actually research the story for the facts, an ET denier?

I mean the guy is a scientist. And scientists and women who accuse conservatives of misdeeds are always "credible" in the eyes of libs and the lsm.

I hope our interstellar visitors don’t take the news of Chuck’s death too badly. I mean, there were Soviet (Azerbaijani) bagpipes on that golden record, too. Chuck might’ve been the only redeeming factor.

Ironically, when I crawled my big ass out of bed this morning, I found an article about that, and an update about the Great Pyramid, and planned to just post those two new topics and bag it for the day. [blush]

“The universe is everywhere subject to gravity.”

That’s an assertion which can not be proven absolutely, but is a reasonable premise because this is universally observed. The law of gravity is a law because it is universal. But we do not know what causes gravity. We can describe its behavior precisely and predictably, but still do not have a unified field theory.

It is important to question scientific orthodoxy. Doing so is sometimes necessary for scientific progress to occur. There is a difference between science as a method of inquiry and science as a belief system:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TerTgDEgUE

One reason it is important to question orthodoxy here is that the elongated shape of this object could be a demonstration that some of the most common presuppositions we have are incorrect.

For example, how rare is this event? Is this the singular time it has occurred since there was intelligent life on earth? Suppose that such an event has occurred into the distant past with the regularity of once per thousand years. Wouldn’t that be like the universe shooting bullets at us? How could life have survived under such conditions? Is there something special about our galaxy that protects our planet from interstellar objects?

“The object in question is long and slender. The question rises is how it was formed by accretionary processes.”

That may be the question you want to know, but this article claims that scientists such as “Stephen Hawking, are attempting to discover whether or not Oumuamua is alien or natural.”

A non-blog source says something similar:

https://www.space.com/39046-interstellar-object-oumuamua-breakthrough-listen-project.html

The implication is that scientists are investigating whether this object is the remnant of a space ship designed by aliens.

My question is: how can anyone who denounces the concept of Intelligent Design treat such an inquiry as scientific?

“Yes, it has to be accompanied by a signed picture of an old man who lives in the sky. Although, in a pinch, Santa Claus will do.”

I’m not the one claiming to be able to delineate between a naturally occurring rock and an alien space craft, through scientific inquiry.

But your mockery is duly noted.

Sounds like something someone who treats science as an article of faith would say.

The Biblical Creator of the universe is neither Santa nor a little old man in the sky.

He is the Person who created all things and to whom you will some day give an account for every word and deed.
