(VIDEO) Dunching: The No Fast Fast Way to Lose Weight
YouTube ^ | October 14, 2018 | Half Of Me

VIDEO

Dunching or Dunch (contraction of Dinner and Lunch) is the one a day low carb meal which will have the effect of fasting (namely LOSING weight) without actually fasting. A big reason for this is by eating Dunch in the middle of the afternoon, your stomach has sufficient time to digest most if not all the food before you go to sleep.

As you can see in this video, Dunch will more than fill you up so by dinner time you will still not be hungry. Your stomach will have about an additional 3 hours in which to digest your food as a result. The greater lead time from your last (and only) meal of the day (Dunch) until you go to sleep is very helpful in losing weight. It sure works for me.

Just eat less (calorie wise) than you used to any time you eat. And exercise a bit more. Worked well all thru the famines and torture and prison camps of history. Did you ever see a fat person for a very long during a time of famine?
No hormone changes will overcome no calories.

So no breakfast; just a mid-afternoon meal as a one meal a day routine?

Many swear by this and I have met lots of people who only eat once a day. Every one of them was thin. I guess they were able to turn off or ignore the hunger pangs somehow or just get used to them.

I have found myself having dinner at around 3:30 at times then not eating again till breakfast. If I’m awake in the middle of the night I get those hunger pangs; otherwise I’m good till breakfast which is usually not long after I wake up. Nothing big. Maybe just a fried egg with some kind of meat sandwich.

So PJ; have you been able to average the amount of weight lost per week yet?

PS: Keep on bowling. :) Swimming laps is good too if you have access to an indoor heated pool. I didn’t find exercise helped me lose weight directly (indirectly maybe) but it kept muscles toned (tone muscle burns more cals) and made me feel better in general which makes it worth it.

I find swimming to be excellent for older folks because it takes all the weight off joints that sometimes ache. The only downside is getting out of the pool. All of a sudden I feel like I weigh a ton for a few minutes. Good time to sit in the hot tub and/or sauna to wind down.

Nonsense.

Let's see... From July 3 until August 17 (my first weigh-in) I lost 26 pounds and from that date until September 28 (my second weigh-in) I lost another 23 pounds. Since I also lost 5 pounds when I started at 320 pounds on May 27 until July 3 when I started taking Crave Stop to stop my Carb cravings I lost a total of 54 pounds taking me down to 266 pounds as of Sept. 28.

I must be doing something right and Dunching has been working great for me. I don't do it every day but for the once or twice a week I do it, it works well. When I do it after having a buffet the previous day, I find it very effective in bringing my weight back into line.

My next weigh-in which I hope to broadcast live on YouTube will be on November 9 so let's see just how well my techniques are working.

Correct but I don't do it every day. Maybe only once or twice a week. I find it a very effective way to get my weight back into line when I have eaten a buffet meal (low carb) the day before and want to get back into the groove again.

Definitely no hunger pangs at normal dinner time. Also if I know I am going to Dunch that day, I am not feeling really hungry until about 1 that afternoon but I sort of know that the food cavalry will soon be arriving so it helps me psychologically.

So PJ; have you been able to average the amount of weight lost per week yet?

On average between weigh-ins which are spaced approx. 40 days apart I lose over 20 pounds of loss or a little over 4 pounds per week without "suffering." However some weeks I am sort of "locked in" to a weight which in a way is good because my body seems to get used to a new low before proceeding further down. Other weeks I can lose 7 pounds before reaching a lower plateau at which my body also "locks-in."

The absolute best way (at least for me) is skin diving. I ALWAYS lose weight while doing that activity. I have already lost about enough weight that I don't think I will be like a blimp in the water. Pretty soon I am going to skindive a nearby reef as well as a shipwreck about 500 yards from shore off Delray beach. And after that I plan on getting a kayak and spearfish again down in the Keys.

If you cut carbs and sugar to the bone and eat proteins, fats and veggies you will not feel hunger as your body will switch from sugar fuel to ketones... even if you operate at a calorie deficit you will not feel hunger as your body will seamlessly use your body fat for fuel. Eating in a restricted time period increases the amount of time that you have little or no insulin produced... insulin creates and stores fat out of any extra calories you consume.. you can’t lose weight if you’re eating 3 meals a day AND snacking ,, no matter how calorie deficient the total consumption is you never have a time period where your body gets a rest from insulin.

Low carb for me works great. The first month I was only able to shed about 5 pounds because I kept sneaking carbs such as crackers due to my carb cravings. Then in early July I started taking Crave Stop which completely eliminated those cravings and I haven't sneaked carbs since then.

Good for you! I eat twice a day, whatever I want within reason. A heavy breakfast and a light dinner. I can’t remember the numbers but our bmi’s are a-ok. Find what works and stick with it.

Well, when you are doing heavy duty skin diving you will lose weight almost no matter how much you eat. But it has to be HEAVY DUTY skin diving. I mean like a minimum of 4 hours of constant diving. Something I used to do when I lived in La-La Land and dived the kelp beds while spearfishing. One summer I spent about every day in a month spearfishing and on those days I would dive from early early morning into the afternoon.

I lost at least 25 pounds that month alone.

Keep in mind I am putting myself on the line with my commitment to public weigh-ins. The previous two were broadcast and the next one is scheduled for November 9 which I hope to livecast on YouTube. Also Brian Craig, co-host of the Steve Kane Radio Show, also recorded those weigh-ins since my immediate goal is to lose a hundred pounds which I promised my wife I would do in order to go on the next Steve Kane Cruise to the Caribbean. My wife wouldn’t let me go on the cruise this year because she thought all that food aboard ship would kill me.

Granddad always said, if you want to live healthily to 80, never eat more than two meals per day.

If you’re going to snack, have meat, cheese or nuts or an apple, but nothing out of a bag or can.

That said, I believe there’s something to be said for a single, 1200 calorie salad. I often have an 800 calorie salad for lunch.

Dressed only with olive oil.

Above all, NEVER EAT SUGAR.

Never.

I’m so envious you have easy access to skin/scuba/snorkel diving. I’m a certified diver but haven’t dived in decades. I have considered a move to Florida a time or two just because of all the ocean and Gulf access. I hope you know how lucky you are. :)

I used to be certified but it has been so long since I scuba dived I probably need to be re-certified. Since my niece turns 10 next March which is the minimum age to be certified, I think I'll get re-certified with her and her brother.

For me it would be the worst. I’d eat too much at the tail end of the day and probably get a stomach ache at night. I stay up too late and I’d be too hungry. I have a protein snack for “Dunch” and then I eat a healthy small dinner. And super dark chocolate in the evening.

My intermittent fasting if I do it at all is from 9-10 pm to 12 noon when I have my brunch.

I’ve tried the Keto diet and will likely try it again. It’s an expensive diet for sure but it does have its benefits. You may disagree but I don’t think it’s healthy to stay on it more than a couple of months (at most) at a time then go back to regular but reduced carb diet for at least a month before returning to Keto for another month or two.

No one really knows for sure so all we can do is gather the info available and make the best educated guess we can at what will work best. No one diet is best for everyone so some trial and error is bound to happen on this journey.

You can lose weight even if you ‘snack” if you stay away from junk carbs. No breads or fruits etc. but I agree, there should be about 10-12 hours with no food. Sleep helps! And snack should mean protein.
