BASONOVA -- Wandering Arameans in Egypt: New light on the Samarian and Judean diaspora

The Hebrew Bible views Egypt as the location of both slavery and refuge. The “wandering Aramean” ancestor mentioned in Deuteronomy 26:5 was a slave in Egypt, whereas the prophet Jeremiah and others chose to flee there after the fall of Samaria/Israel and Judah. This presentation offers a look at the evidence for diaspora life in Egypt found in Papyrus Amherst 63, a long and difficult text written in Aramaic but using the Demotic Egyptian script. The many compositions in the papyrus reflect the religious traditions and collective cultural memory of a group of Aramaic speakers in Egypt, including Samarians and Judeans. It contains hymns that praise Yahweh over other deities, and even an idealized description of their arrival in a new land: “I come from Judah; my brother has been brought from Samaria; and now, a man is bringing up my sister from Jerusalem.”

I still blame that Girl From Ipanema;

Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes
Goes ‘a-a-a-h!’

The Girl From Ipanema is a far weirder song than you thought

More than 50 years ago, two Brazilian songwriters spotted a 17-year-old girl strolling near the beach in Ipanema, a neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, and were inspired to compose song “The Girl from Ipanema.” TODAY's Hoda Kotb catches up with Helo Pinheiro, now 71, who reflects on being immortalized in a bossa nova classic.

Time and time again. The Bible is accurate history. The Patterns of Evidence documentaries prove the Exodus is true, right up to finding Joseph’s tomb where The Bible said it should be. The so called scientific discoveries that nullify The Bible, right up to erasing evidence of dragons and people living at the same time, concerted fakery. Archeological, cosmological, geological and even anthropological evidence proves The Bible, starting with Genesis 1:1.

The folks in charge of deciphering man’s early languages, have been working out the bugs of the Pharoahic languages for how long, and just now came up with this?
I believe their time would be better spent on further translations of Nordic Runes, or the more sophisticated Ogham languages.
At least, the Runes and Ogham sticks are found across Europe, and even to Minnesota, whereas the Pharoahic language has only impacted the Nile valley culture.

Sloppy. Jeremiah did not choose to flee to Egypt. He was essentially kidnapped.

Patterns of Evidence doesn’t do any such thing. The core of Rohl’s research discussed in that vid is to revise the chronology of New Kingdom Egypt. Trying to sync the Old Testament with Egyptian chronology was done earlier, and better, by Velikovsky.

Odd point of view, considering that Aramaic is under discussion, not Pharaonic Egyptian.

Considering that both languages are of little interest, along with Hittite, Sumerian, Philistine, Phoenician, Minoan, or Cretan, is where I base my opinion

Of course, ymmv.
