Explanation: It is not a coincidence that planets line up. That's because all of the planets orbit the Sun in (nearly) a single sheet called the plane of the ecliptic. When viewed from inside that plane -- as Earth dwellers are likely to do -- the planets all appear confined to a single band. It is a coincidence, though, when three of the brightest planets all appear in nearly the same direction. Such a coincidence was captured earlier this month. Featured above (right to left), Venus, Saturn, and Jupiter were all imaged together in a line just after sunset, from the San Fermo Hills, Bergamo, Italy. Joining the alignment are Earth's Moon, and the position of the more distant Uranus. Bands of clouds streak across the sky toward the setting Sun. As Comet Leonard fades, this planetary alignment -- absent the Moon -- should persist for the rest of the month.

Thus giving rise to the phrase, "the planets were aligned for me that day."
Galileo must have had a lot to talk about in his day.
LOL
I was looking at Thomas Paine's Age of Reason the other day. At one point he is discussing the planets and only mentions the ones known since antiquity (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn), never mentioning Uranus although he was writing more than 10 years after its discovery. He speculates that there are planets in orbit around other stars, which we now know to be true.
Decisions, decisions . . . the Lady in Red, or Marilyn Monroe standing over that heater grate in whatever movie it was? :-)
I was actually on a date in Nashville when my date walked across a grate like that and it blew her dress up.
Good Times!!!
👍
So the camera lens has nothing to do with the alignment....
I have looked up in the sky many times but have never made out the letters by the objects......
That is pretty basic, but news to yours truly. Interesting. Kitty is sleeping a little too soundly on the dog ... it makes me nervous.
The Ecliptic, if you know it, you can always see the planets of our Solar System and, of course, our Sun!
Also most, if not all of the Astrological signs’ stars.
