1:40·that would have danced across the walls
1:41·during Grand Banquets and social
1:43·Gatherings the black Hue of the walls
1:45·was likely chosen to conceal the smoke
1:47·deposits from the lamps used to
1:49·illuminate the space allowing the
1:50·vibrant colors of the paintings to take
1:52·Center Stage complimenting the stunning

2:39·discoveries already made the

2:42·meticulously piece together a ceiling
2:44·Fresco that was shattered during the
2:45·cataclysmic volcanic eruption the Fresco
2:48·was smashed into countless fragments by

2:55·Style on a large table in the excavation
2:58·site despite the challenge is posed by
3:00·the Fresco's fragmented State the

3:49·evidence of ongoing Renovations at the
3:51·time of the catastrophic eruption in the
3:54·reception hall there is a lot of rubble
3:56·lited in the far right corner which
3:57·suggests that the owners of this opulent
3:59·home were actively engaged in the
4:01·process of updating and improving their
4:03·property the inhabitants of this Grand
4:05·residence along with countless others
4:07·were tragically denied the opportunity

5:12·role and influence within pompe and
5:14·Society further investigation revealed
5:16·that verus was not just any pompeian

5:42·all us rusus a true adile worthy of the
5:45·state these inscriptions were deciphered
5:47·despite their age and weathering and
5:49·provide a rare glimpse into the
5:50·electioneering tactics of the ancient
5:52·world where politicians like Veris
5:54·sought to leverage their resources and
5:56·connections to secure political power
5:58·the presence of the bakery near the
6:00·politicians campaign posters further
6:02·reinforces various political Savvy and
6:04·wealth in the Roman world the adage the
6:07·voter lives on bread held true as
6:10·politicians often use the distribution
6:11·of food and other basic necessities to
6:13·Curry favor with the electorate verus
6:16·demonstrated his understanding of this
6:18·Dynamic by owning and operating a
6:19·large-scale bakery and this suggests
6:21·that he may have engaged in morally
6:23·questionably practices like bribing
6:25·voters with bread to secure votes and
6:26·maintain his political influence and
6:28·Power the discoveries in Regio 99 have

I look at these paintings and frescoes on the walls of Pompeii and see the realism and the minute detail they have then look at some medieval paintings that don’t even have good perspectives and wonder what happened for 1000 years................

“ Archaeologist Dr Sophie Hay explains how he left his mark…”

‘ using a sword, he made a horizontal slash here. Then a diagonal slash from right to left, then another horizontal slash. All slashes were connected and he wore a black swashbuckling mask while doing so. ‘
