We need to develop "drone" SUVs and Humvees with tinted glass that will drive through hotspots via radio control. When they are bombed and the bad guys think they can pull out some bodies, zip overhead with an A-10 and napalm them.
Probably won't happen though.
What needs to happen is what happened to say Dresden, Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
We said the war was over.
Fallujah says it's not.
So raze Fallujah. Then they will beg us to stop.

I'm less worried about the Saddam holdovers and al-Queda than I am about the Shi'ite militants. The Shi'ites are Looney Tunes; imagine if 1000 years from now there were still millions of Democrats willing to march in the streets and commit acts of violence to avenge the 2000 election; that is an approximation of the irrational mentality of the Shi'ites.

I guess we haven't gotten to that point. YetSadly we will have to take a few major hits here at home before our people demand war be waged.

I think 'kill' is exactly what they are planning to do. They say 'arrest' for the benefit of the left who are unable to handle such realities.

"If you're this sure they all hate us to the last man, why bother with waiting for protests to take place ? Shouldn't you advocate bombing residential areas, towns and cities and villages and even hamlets, whether there were signs of unrest or not ?"
The one's who are in the streets firing weapons and dancing in the streets are not innocent. And the answer to your question is Absolutely YES! They have never concerned them selves with civilian casualties. Time to paly their game

lol, hadnt thought of it that way but you are right!

It's an aside, but I am sick and tired of the PR office coming up with operational names. "Valiant Resolve"?!?
This sort of thing just makes us look like idiots.
Time to break out the random name generator out of moth balls and come up with names like "Whiskey Birdbath" or "Apple Hammer". The great operational names are great because the operations themselves were great. If the pacification of Fallujah was named "Apple Hammer", those words would take on a meaning of their own and be repeated across the Islamic World for a hundred years. People will forget "Valiant Resolve" in a week, because it sounds like the rest of the BS/PR operational names from this war.

A little hint, don't look for a nuanced response from somebody with a handle like "ThermoNuclearWarrior".
Of course, I'm more in his camp...

What we need to do is to get out of there. Now.This is absurd. The reason they did this is because Clinton ran away. We have to teach them a lesson. Running away like a dog with it's tail tugged between it's legs is not going to solve this. They have to be taught a hard lesson. Yet it has to be precise and can not be done in blind rage. You do not want to enrage the population that support us

They have to be taught a hard lesson. Yet it has to be precise and can not be done in blind rage. You do not want to enrage the population that support us. If they want a new govenment, let them create one themselves. They will always resent our presence. To them, we are an occupying force. We are the visible enemy. As long as we are there, we always will be that.
The only other option, besides leaving, that I can see is to increase the level of violence to a degree which we will not do. Given that we won't do that, I think we should get out.
We won't be turning Iraq into a democratic country. Not during our lifetimes.
To: bondjamesbond
Well, I guess I like lost causes, James...even though I suppose most fans of the thermonuclear option in Iraq mainly advocate the option to vent their anger. I have yet to meet a Freeper who genuinely regret American troops have not put 6 million German civilians in extermination camps just because the Nazis did just that.
Since America stands not for tyranny and barbary but for freedom and justice, since patriots stand for American values and since Freepers are fiercely patriotic, I guess I won't meet one in a hurry.
To: Gerasimov
No you're not. They don't need to arrest the jihad vermin, they need to eliminate them. You don't want an army of trial lawyers getting their mitts on this.
