U.S. "deeply troubled" by N. Korea missile firing
Wed Jun 27, 3:38 PM ET
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States said on Wednesday that it was "deeply troubled" by North Korea's recent missile test-firings, saying it violated a U.N. Security Council resolution, and urged Pyongyang to refrain from further launches.

South Korea's Yonhap news agency earlier reported that North Korea may have fired a short-range missile off its east coast on Wednesday. A Seoul Defense Ministry official could not confirm the report. North Korea has fired at least two short-range missiles over the past month.
"The United States is deeply troubled that North Korea has decided to launch these missiles during a delicate time in the six-party talks," Gordon Johndroe, spokesman for the White House National Security Council, said.
Six-party talks by the two Koreas, Japan, Russia, the United States and China aimed at stopping North Korea's nuclear program reached a disarmament-for-aid deal in February.
But the accord was stalled for weeks by a dispute over about $25 million of North Korean funds frozen at the behest of the United States in a Macau bank. Pyongyang agreed to implement the deal this week after the money was released.
Johndroe said the missile launches were a violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution which prohibits North Korea from engaging in ballistic missile activities.
"We expect North Korea to refrain from conducting further provocative ballistic missile launches, activity that is destabilizing to the security of northeast Asia and turn its focus to implementing its commitments under the February 13th agreement, including the immediate shut down of Yongbyon," Johndroe said.
The International Atomic Energy Agency said on Wednesday that North Korea will allow a team of U.N. nuclear watchdog officials to visit the Yongbyon reactor it has agreed to shut down under the agreement.

S. Korean media quoting AP and CNN, reports that three N. Korea missiles were fired according to U.S. Department of Defense.
Any way, I doubt that White House is nothing else to do except feeling "deeply troubled." Maybe they say their patience has limits, but we know the limit is set pretty high.:-)

MY patience is wearing thin with with the Administration.
Like the Clinton Gang, the Bush bunch seems to feel they can negotiate with a lunatic.
The only solution to North Korea is a regime change and the Red Chinese, our “trading” partners, are the only solution to that problem.
We should tell the Red Chinese that either they take out the current leadership in North Korea, or reign them in, or we will be providing nuclear weaponry to our allies in the region.

See the mention of Albright in the quote below.
Commencement Address at Boston College (Secretary Condoleezza Rice, Boston, Massachusetts, May 22, 2006.
US Department of State)
Excerpts:
As a student of a Catholic high school, the Sisters of Loretta taught me, I am pleased to be at an institution of higher education with such strong and celebrated Catholic and Jesuit traditions . . . You see, I got my Master's Degree at Notre Dame. (Boos.) I acquired a passion for the fighting Irish . . . and my family has been college educated and Presbyterian ever since. (Laughter and applause.) . . . I wandered into a course on international politics taught by a Czech refugee who specialized in Soviet studies, a man who had a daughter by the name of Madeleine Albright. With that one class, I was hooked. I discovered that my passion was Russia and all things Russian.

So North Korea has the missiles, and Iran has the uranium for making nuclear warheads. It doesn’t look good for the future.

There was a time when Rice first started acting stupid with NK, that I attributed it to her following orders from Bush who was listening to the idiots at Foggy Bottom.
Then she went over what I thought was a line with the so called "Palestinians", and knew she wasn't up for the job.
When I heard about her praising Albright at a venue other than a memorial service, that was it.
I relegated her to my next to the last choice on my list for any thing important, assuming I as a voter am allowed a choice after this POTUS and Congress.

You might want to have a good look at this, then.

I doubt that Con. Rice just wandered into a course on international politics taught by a Czech refugee (???) who specialized in Soviet studies....smells like a classic KGB set-up which included another SOS, Mad. Albright. Now we are seeing the fruits of this set-up in the way Israel and the MiEast has been mishandled by Rice and Bush...
Con. Rice was hooked with Russia (USSR) and all things Russian. Can you find any info about her first excursion to Moscow? She was probably in her early to mid 20’s.

Deeply troubled, but won’t do anything about it.

Can anyone define “deeply troubled”? Sounds like some kind of diplospeak for ummm.... an inability to effectively respond.

It's really been going on all along.
Each president obeys the demands of those in our parties who see themselves as our superiors and pay for the privilege of executing their preferred policies through our Executive. And they only care a little as to which party they use like a vending machine.
Most of them go to big churches (all anti-Israel and calling for divestment) and are sometimes "swing voters." They are often vague and are almost always dishonest in public discussions.
They want to keep social programs that keep our labor pool large by breaking families. They want to
"Repeal all measures that punish employers for hiring undocumented workers. Repeal all immigration quotas." And they don't want any of their social vices or abominations to be outlawed or even criticized.
And as usual, they have another one of their own running on rhetoric with the bandwagon approach. Anyone who disagrees or questions too much is accused, flamed and threatened.
