California’s climate fight gets harder soon, and the big culprit is cars
San Jose Mercury News ^ | 1/12/18 | Julie Cart

California is poised to meet its goal to reduce greenhouse gases 33 percent, to 1990 levels, by the year 2020. Its targets for use of more renewable energy by that date are, in some cases, already exceeded.

...hold on tight for what comes next. The state’s overarching plan was intended to ease industry and consumers into a carbon-free future bit by bit; ten years in, the training wheels are off.

Emissions-reduction must hit 40 percent by 2030 and twice that by 2050. In 12 years, half the state’s energy must come from renewable sources. 14 million buildings must operate twice as efficiently; the number of electric cars on the road will have to multiply more than 10 times. Failure would likely mean more extreme measures in later years and, many experts say, could affect public health.

By law, every state agency must consider climate change when making any planning decision. Developers must take into account how far motorists travel to reach a destination, forests will be managed so that trees store more carbon dioxide and highway builders have to calculate the possibility that rising seas might inundate the roads.

Mary Nichols, who chairs the California Air Resources Board, acknowledged that squeezing emissions from transportation will be the most difficult lift of all the 2030 standards, saying the gains require no less than a “deep transformation.”

...cutting gasoline use in half, reducing the miles that car-centric Californians drive, dramatically ramping up the adoption of electric vehicles and building a network of readily available charging stations.

...transportation emissions are produced largely outside the clutches of state regulation: think airplanes, trains, and ships. Another is sluggish technological change for heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks, buses and shuttles, although adoption of all-electric municipal buses is growing as costs come down.

These types of articles written by the true believers are fascinating. Authoress Cart is obviously one of the deepest true believers there is. The true believers never question whether doing all of this incredibly expensive transformation has any value to society. They never ask what happens to the poor and middle class people who have to pay 2x or 3x the national average for energy. They never ask what happens when jobs depart the state.

Her entire justification for doing this government mandated plan is "Failure would likely mean more extreme measures in later years and, many experts say, could affect public health." COULD affect public health!

The true believers say "God [government] has MANDATED we do this, therefore we must do it. We must not disobey God."

We have all heard this crap thousands of times the past two decades. Thank God for Trump for beginning to expose the lies.

***WARNING***

More lies from the Lying Leftist media. Let’s limit posting headlines from these wretched Lying Leftist outlets. If this story is true and has some redeeming value, at least get the story from a reasonably reliable source, not from a known Lying Leftist operative posing as a “news” organization.

And yet, the Left continues to fight to import millions more illegal aliens and give them everything. Could this have anything to do with energy usage in the future??? How can they hold these views without their brains running out their ears?

This means that eventually airplanes and cargo ships will be banned in California.

This will be fun to watch.

California is poised to meet its goal to reduce greenhouse gases 33 percent, to 1990 levels, by the year 2020.

That is physically, mathematically and economically IMPOSSIBLE!

California is doing everything it can to destroy its economy and create a two-class social structure. Once the state achieves this, the only people who will be able to afford cars will be the elites and their C02 goals will be met!

...forests will be managed so that trees store more carbon dioxide...

That will be a neat trick. Trees "store" carbon by virtue of the simple fact that they are carbon-based life-forms. The bigger a tree gets, the more carbon it "stores".

But trees do not "store" carbon-dioxide.

http://achatespower.com/media-center/engine-design-videos/

F150 with this tech at the Detroit auto show. Smaller, more efficient (85% better for gas and about 35% better for diesel), beats ALL proposed emission standards globally, and cheaper to boot. No major engine plant retooling needed.

Remember you heard about this from me first.

They will fail.

They really believe they can eliminate the gasoline powered car by unpopular law and administrative fiat.

Fools are about to learn a less they will not soon forget.

This will be the means by which the Dim party is destroyed in CA. Remember, the PEOPLE did not vote for these changes. They voted for the reps who voted for these changes...without knowing (because ALL Dim voters are stupid) what the practical impact would be to themselves, personally.

It can be done if many Californians die. The left is okay with that solution. (See: history)

They haven’t yet come out and publicly said where this will all go if you follow the “logic” of their position. In order to stop the “climate change” they claim we humans are causing, you will have to completely reverse the industrial revolution. That means de-industrializing the entire planet. And because that level of industrialization is necessary to sustain life for seven billion humans, it would mean having about five to six billion less people alive.

It’s interesting that they’ve never come right out and said it, yet. Nor have they mentioned just how they intend they intend to accomplish that reduction. One thing you can be damn sure of is the people arguing for this “climate control” don’t intend to be part of the six billion who are “excess people.”

The Left wants your Freedom Machine. You choose where you go in the car you drive. In a driverless car, you might be taken to where you’re permitted.

California’s a 3rd world hellhole - lots of pampered ‘elites’ and a whole lot more poverty stricken losers. Dirty air is the least of their problems.

I thought that was the purpose of the UN's Agenda 21 program.
