There is an excellent brief I wrote on this topic as a separate post in July of 2008--it is a fairly complete summary.

This old thing?

If considering the 14th A, citizen at birth would not mean natural born citizen.

Correct, that's how I read it.

The emancipation was aimed at making legal citizens of all those previously ‘held as slaves’ born on American soil or brought to American soil.

That's also how I read it. I also think that extending it to "anchor babies" is a gross misapplication.

Is there any other country in the world that does that? ie children of foreign nationals become citizens of the nation governing the place they are born in?

"So far you haven’t said anything particularly convincing—I remain of the understanding that the natural born subject law which dates back to the 12th Century was the historical origin of the concept."

"Natural Born citizen" isn't even a subject addressed in common law. Common law addressed the birth of a 'subject' to alien parents, but that would not be relevent, since a subject could not become a monarch.

Here is a discussion of the use in the constitution, and the origin of the term.

"Consider, perhaps, that ‘a subject’ can be a slave without being ‘a citizen’ "

Consider that a 'subject' cannot become a monarch, thus tha issue didn't exist in common law.

Wasn't his comment as so many others was due to the issue of “The Republic of Kenya” ...which formally occurred in Dec 64?

Actually you could do that up until September 10, 2001.

At least for air travel, my experiences differ. I went on a skiing trip to Banff in 1990 without a passport, but the difficulties I had on entry led me to having my mother FAX me a copy of my CoLB for reentry to the US.

With all the traveling Stanley Ann did, we can presume she had a passport. There ought to be some sort of paper trail there.

Hawaii has loose requirements of birth certification....that is the loophole that is being exploited.

Look at the source on that page - and then tell me if you don’t believe that Kenya has used cents historically. Besides, I’ve seen images on these threads that show the cents denominated coins...so believe that also.

The issue of the 7s 6d price on the Kenyan BC document, a common price in Great Britain, must be explained in other ways - like common usage of currency between Great Britain and even then independent Kenya, or forms printed in England, that sort of thing.

You are right about that. The statements from Hawaiian Officials do not in any way clear that up either.

It seems they intend to continue to be vague about what level of records they have.

Easy big fella, we’re on the same side. Our Constitution was written as a Contract between the federal government and we the sovereign citizns of this nation ... not dealing with subjects, with sovereign citizens. The democrat party sees us as subjects of the federal oligarchy, no longer the sovereign citizens. So long as an affirmative action bastard ficure is allowed to hold an office without having to prove his eligibility, the federal oligarchy is sending the signal that we are no long sovereigns and will not be allowed to take back that now obsolete status subserviant (subjects) as we are now to the federal oligarchy.

The COURTS are not going to take this case, EVER. The American public will have to forcibly remove him, if he is found ineligible...

I'm all for the people exercising their authority in this matter. After we're done evicting Bozo, we can go down the street to the Capitol Building and get started there.

I'm sick of these frauds and totalitarian Marxists taking over my government, and stealing our freedoms.

I didn’t mean to ipply that we weren’t!

Just pointing out the huge gap of logic in attempting to apply any part of common law to this issue.

Global citizens and Kings of the World find home at the United Nations, which operates as a law unto itself.

Ouch. I've lived in three (soon to be four) different countries. My experiences in the first two indicated that most of the people wanted to be more like the US of Ronald Reagan - FReedom (but they also thought the UN was US-dominated).

That’s true for his being born in Kenya: Neither parent could pass him citizenship.

But the place of birth is hardly a distraction. It’s everything. If he was born in Hawaii, then he’s natural born.

If it’s not too much trouble, could one of you (or both if so inclined) tell what he is saying that are lies? I’m not asking in a challenging way but just trying to learn.

I’ve read as much of all these threads as I can and am trying to get a grasp...

Was reading obsessively until a couple of months ago, now back.

What he’s saying sounds sensible to me but if you both think there’s untruth, I’d like to know more.

Any thoughts on this of how we can confirm or refute it?

Here's the website of the National Library of Australia And a photo of it:

Someone in Canberra needs to check it out. Here's a Map

The "Kenya Dominion Record" might be a newspaper.

But I don't trust drive by posters, and JimColt still hasn't posted anything else after signing up on the 5th. Plus no one, including me, seems to be able to find any "Kenya Dominion Record". If it was a newspaper, surely there would be some reference to it somewhere. WAIT ONE I found a reference to the Kenya Record, which is called a "Journal/Newspaper", but only published from 1978.

Here's another possible source for the same information.

Annual report of the Registrar-General

But in either case, you'd have to be in Canberra to go look at them. Best call ahead as they say all the pre 1990 stuff is "off site", so you might to either go "off site", or they might go get it for you, which would take time.

NO...he definitely is native born.( if he was born in Hawaii )....but his father was not a US Citizen...so by some definitions he may not be natural born.
