A few of us were thinking of starting an on-going FReeper diet and fitness thread. It would be a place where we could discuss weight loss, diet, exercise, getting back in shape, encourage each other in our efforts to get healthy, and celebrate our successes.
Any fitness or activity level. 100+ pounds to lose or no weight to lose. Those who have lost weight and kept it off, please share with us what has worked for you. Maybe you love a certain activity, biking, skiing, rock climbing, walking, running, whatever, tell us about how it helps you stay in shape. Share your weight loss success. Just a place to exchange ideas about all things exercise and diet related.
Don't be shy! As Freepers we spend a whole bunch of time in front of our computers and more then a few of us could do with some exercise and probably a little weight loss.
NO VERBAL ATTACKS! NO NAME CALLING! NO BASHING! THE OVERWEIGHT! NO NASTY PICTURES POSTED! This will be a thread about getting healthy and no attacks will be tolerated.
I think I found the 35 you lost.
If you would like to reclaim it, please describe where the flab came from and what it looks like.
It is currently in my gut and my love handles.
No...it is NOT always just that simple.
LMAO! I'm married to one of these types. On my first week of WW he ordered a huge beef sandwich with grilled onions and melted cheese and cheese fried. I wanted to beat him with the sandwich.
Try pilates which would be considered low impact. Can you go for slow walks?
Depending on other factors that may or may not make it appropriate, horsemanship and horseback riding is actually better excercise than you might think, and requires and improves balance, coordination and fine motor skills.
Yes. It is that simple.
I'd like to lose about 40 lbs. I just need to be more active, I guess. I would like my weight to get back to about 175 or 180. I cant shed those pounds though. Help!
It's not a matter of being upset, it's a matter that you tried to set a polite and helpful tone for the thread and some people have no manners. I have no patience for people who are purposely rude.
Let's find a liberal to give it to! :-D
I am passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me and we all could use more calm in our lives. By following the simple advice I heard on a Dr. Phil show, I have finally found inner peace.
Dr. Phil proclaims, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've started." It's as simple as that. So, I looked around my house to see all the things I had started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Zinfandel, a bottle of Jack Daniels, a package of Oreos, the remainder of both Prozac and Valium prescriptions, the rest of the cheesecake, some saltines, and a box of chocolates.
You have no idea how freaking good I feel!
IIRC, Rush hired a full-time professional chef and told him/her, "Make me thin!"
LMAO!! That is great!
lol! So did I. :)
Are you accepting spectators?
Back at ya!
Does anyone here belong to a gym? I don't. I'm just wondering.
I would normally say "sauce for the goose" but on this thread some people might get hungry... ;)
Add me to the ping list.
I've lost 50 lbs in 10 months by simply cutting out the junk food and using a Gazelle 3 times a week
