The artist seems to show what appears to be beard shadow. If so, you have to wonder how the queen or her handlers let this happen.

There are many theories. I watched a BBC documentary on them. One is that Elizabeth was a man with undescended male parts another was that she had both male and female parts.

Possibly the most stupid historical theory I’ve ever heard.Agree. A player like Elizabeth would have made it her business to bump off the governess, the guardian, and anyone else who knew of such a switch, or who could identify the true princess. We are asked to believe instead that they thought themselves safe? Ha!
I'd much rather know a little more about Mr. Shakespeare, if we're to be digging up celebrities.
