The Spanish investigator and scriptologist, Georgeos Diaz-Montexano, has discovered paleographical proofs that in fact the island or peninsula (Nêsos) denominated like Atlantis or Atlantic, it was divided in two parts below the sea. To date all atlantologists and students of the Timaeus and the Critias de Plato had thought that in texts of the Greek philosophist narrated the collapse of the all island or Atlantis peninsula, nevertheless, Georgeos Diaz-Montexano has reviewed the oldest texts known writings in Greek and Latin the Timaeus and the Critias and has discovered proofs that another interpretation exists that was unnoticed pass by all.

In the oldest codices it is possible to be read that the island or peninsula (Nêsos) Atlantis "divided (of to split) into two (parts) it disappeared" underneath the sea (Thalattês). This new interpretation has been confirming the theory defended by Georgeos Diaz-Montexano for years of which Atlantis were the own Peninsula (or island) of Iberia united by a bridge of islands (archipelago) to the northwest of Morocco by the space that today occupies the Gibraltar Strait.

This important discovery demonstrates that in fact the history of Atlantis narrated in the Timaeus and the Critias, describes the fact of a catastrophe produced by several earthquakes of great intensity (as it affirms own the Plato) that they generated great tsunami. These seísmos would cause the collapse of the bridge of islands or archipelago that united to Iberia with Morocco, dividing or dividing (in two parts) for the great island or peninsula (Nêsos) Atlantis as it can read in own texts of the Timaios and the Kritias, written in Greek, according to it conserves in the codices older than they are known Plato.

The Acropolis island of the kingdom of Atlantis would be -as right Georgeos Díaz defends from several years before the French geologist Jacques Collina-Girard- in front of Gibraltar, between Iberia and Morocco; on some of the islands of the archipelago that now are submerged and that extended from the same Gibraltar Strait to the Gulf of Cadiz, in front of the opening of the Guadalquivir and Huelva, and by the other part until the coasts of Morocco.

In this area the Spanish and Portuguese scientists have registered in their depths many mud volcanos and a great seismic activity (still effective) that generates constants collapses in the edges of the continental platforms and that have caused throughout different history many tsunamis of intensisades, being one of most terrible known the well-known like tsunami Lisbon of 1755 which it devastated this city and to almost all the located coastal cities throughout the suroccidental Atlantic coast of Portugal and Andalusia, and on the Atlantic coast of the northwest of Morocco, causing more than 70,000 died entered, but that with complete certainty would exceed the 100,000, since the waves of tsunami of 1755 reached a height of up to 70 meters. Earthquakes and tsunami of similar characteristics describe Plato in the area of the Columns of Hercules (Gibraltar) and next to Gadeira (Cadiz). At the present time the Spanish Georgeos Diaz-Montexano, joint to investigator Sweden Jonas Berghman, they defend that the Acropolis island of Atlantis would have to be underneath the sea on some of the islands, peninsulas or you castrate submerged or in some point very near the coasts of Iberia or Morocco.

This theory of Atlantis like a Ibero-Mauretanean kingdom of the Bronze Age is the theory that adjusts more to the true words written in texts older than the Timaeus and the Critias, written in Greek are known and in Latin.

Atlantis were an island or peninsula (NHSOS) that found to the west of the Mediterranean, of side, above/beside/before (PRÔ), or next to the Columns of Hercules (Gibraltar), next to the coast of pelagus Atlantic (ATLANTIKOU PELAGOS in Greek) or arm of sea, strait (FRETUM in Latin) of the Atlantic sea and that had a region that was well-known like Gadeira (Cadiz, Spain), that arrived until the own Columns of Hercules (Gibraltar).

Only the island or peninsula of Iberia is to the west of the Mediterranean, together (above/beside/before) to the Columns of Hercules (Gibraltar), together to the Atlantic sea and only the island or peninsula of Iberia has from end of the Age of the Bronze a well-known region like Gadeira (Gadeira > Gadira > Gadir > Gades > Cadiz, Spain).

All the investigators who try to look for Atlantis in other places of the world ignore (perhaps deliberately) all these so precise and revealing data described by own the Plato according to the data supposedly gathered by Solon in Sáis, Egypt.

Any reason with weight sufficient does not exist to be able to maintain and to defend other theories that are not those that defends at the moment Jonas Berghman and Georgeos Diaz-Montexano on Atlantis between Iberia and Morocco.

I do wish to note that there have been several finds of teh remains of cities being found underwater.
The Black Sea at one point was a shallow inland freshwater lake.
They found the remnants of villages underwater there.

Blam and SunkenCiv are the two I'd speak to about things being found underwater and such.
Besides, they have longer posting histories with more substance.
