George Felos has been gracious in his depicting of Mrs. Schiavo's beautiful death.
Starvation is such a peaceful manner in which to expire. The body shuts down and feels no pain, contrary to what many deceitful conservatives have written.
Given the beauty and serenity of this natural process, we should be happy that so many of our loved ones have the opportunity to depart this life with such dignity.
They must be allowed to go with God; indeed it is He who is responsible for their demise, unless he isn't omnipotent, so please don't try to blame this on those poor doctors and police officers who were just following orders.
In the same manner we must reconsider our foreign aid policy. The food supply to Africa must be immediately shut off and those ingrateful people should immediately start writing thank you notes in gratitude for our allowing them such dignity.
Gee, if only Sally Struthers only knew.
Starvation isn't painfull. Using pictures like that isn't a proper example however. people like that eat, then don't eat, they have parasites from filthy water, they have suffered malnutrition, malaria, diarhea, etc.
That, isn't short term clinical starvation. You should be ashamed of yourselves for trying to decieve people like that.
Ok. Post a picture of a proper example.
I really wish the media had researched this before they started the propaganda about euphoria etc. Apparently, it is against the Geneva Conventions, anyway. Eventually we will see pictures.
There's more common sense in a herd of stampeding lemmings.
OK, so, put up or shut up. Go without food AND water for just 3 days, and let us know how you feel.
I second ikka's suggestion.
Don't worry, you won't die--Orthodox monastics in good health, and a fair number of our more vigorous and pious laity and clergy go without food and water for the first three days of Great Lent every year.
I've never been able to do the 'without water' part for more than a day without getting severe headaches.
BTW, the without food part gets easier after the middle of the second day, still. . .try it before you post again.
Experential knowledge trumps theoretical knowledge.
My father nearly starved to death in Auschwitz.
He tells me it was absolute agony.
I'll take his word on it over that of the pro-death crowd.
In all seriousness, this euphoria thing is the number one most ridiculous notion that I've ever heard the left come up with -- "she didn't swallow, so it wasn't sex" doesn't even come close.
