In my personal opinion, Obama is a disaster for America. I believe future historians will describe this period as the OBAMA CATASTROPHE - the time when America collectively lost its mind and voted for a man and a group of leftists who quickly destroyed the nation in favor of socialism and income redistribution.
However, if people want to save the American nation and way of life - the best and most benevolent society in human history; opposition must be passionate and RATIONAL. The entire legitimacy or birther issue is indeed passionate but definitely not rational.
It has been frustrating to see my fellow-Freepers waste so much time and effort arguing that Obama isn't a legitimate president. He is and no amount of wishful thinking to the contrary will change that fact.

What has become of us? I know some conservatives tend to lean towards mindless conspiracy theories but this is getting ridiculous.
Free Republic is a forum where conservative issues are discussed, hopefully rationally but always passionately. I remember when we all laughed at the conspiracy theories emanating from the liberals and leftists (i.e., 9-11 was an inside job) and now the same type of lunacy has infected this forum.
Time to stop the birther distraction and focus on the real issue of saving the Republic.

But Certifigate is one of the most effective weapons we have in distracting Obama from carrying out his Socialized health care debacle.

I think there’s a good chance he wasn’t born in the USA, but unless if someone has film of him being born in some straw hut, there’s no way in hell we’re going to prove anything.
Many independents are starting to see the truth about Obama’s policies. I’m afraid this birth certificate thing will be a red flag freepers keep charging at with no result.
True or not it’s causing many other questions to be asked about Barry and his background. A background that was never properly vetted. A background totally ignored by the MSM so their ONE could get elected.
How could they not question the meteoric rise of a socialist, community organiser to President in 10 years? One that even today continues to surround himself with terrorists, communists and Black revolutionaries? A man that attended a church that preached racism? A man who couldn’t even find a cabinet without hitting tax cheats over and over and over again.

Maybe, maybe not but you are right about opposing him on the issues. I do not know if he is a natural born citizen or not and anyone stating that he definately is without seeing the long form birth certificate is just as kooky as those claiming that he is not. BECAUSE I DO NOT KNOW, I find the money and effort spent by team Obama fighting this to be suspicious. The result? I want to see the long form.
The issue is, can you effectively explain this issue to people who vote?
I am going to give an example to illustrate this. Please ponder this. Did you know a survey last fall one week before the election of the voters, 50% of the voters believed the GOP still ran Congress? Do you think these people are able understand the constitutional requirement and why we have it? I am not saying don't pursue it, all I am saying don't this is going to be some magic bullet against 0bama.
The Constitution be damned. Given the extreme emotional reaction by the other side to a simple request that Obama provide the primary document to ensure compliance with the Constitution on his eligibility to be President, something he has been actively blocking ever since he started campaigning for the office, I would not let go of this issue. Beyond the politics involved, this is really about us being a nation of laws, which apply to everyone.

To me, this is “best evidence” that Obama is a fraud. There is no earthly reason for Obama to sweep this under the carpet.
Just because you aren't smart enough to connect the dots and make an educated decision based on facts and investigation doesn't make the pursuit of this information lunacy. No one knows what the long copy says but a few people.

That is not correct. My son, daughter and wife applied for passports in the last two years and obtained them with the short form. Agree, that we need to see O's long form.
