I just Got Back From The Grocery Store($4 For A Gallon of Milk)

Posted on 05/15/2011 5:13:18 PM PDT by Dubya-M-DeesWent2SyriaStupid!

The meats were like a bad joke gone bad. $7-10 for a small package of chicken breasts. I got enough food for a week and it was $107. The cashier lady told me some woman (when she noticed) milk at $4 a gallon asked if there was s milk shortage. Are people this stupid?

I am truly afraid for this country in so many ways and as the cashier lady said she told the ditz lady it will get far worse before it gets better. And the cashier was in her 20's and she figured this out- so there is some hope this age group knows to vote out Impeach Obama NOW!

You are quite the idiot for posting that, because you know exactly what he/she meant!

How so?

What house is Obama in that belongs to anyone named Sarah?

Holy cow, $3.75 for one? And I was shocked to see they were .99 each here and they were small. The price of coffee is going off the chart too. Even onions are what I would consider expensive considering what they used to cost, $1.49/lb at WalMart this week.

I have heard that peppers are easy to freeze, just cut ‘em up and put them in a ziplock, right?

Yeap, that is all ya have to do.

Actually I finally got to an outlet that sells veggies and fruit today. I got a bag of 5 bell peppers for 2.50, 3 lbs of bananas for $1.50, a half dozen pears for 2.00, and a 5 lb bag for Yukons for 2.50

I didn’t even bother to look at the steak prices. Last time I checked I about crapped my shorts. I get my steaks from a local farm packing company. They are so fresh the meat moo’s and it’s organic no hormones. Gardens and there are people making damned good money selling chickens and peeps on craigslist.

Here is my Friday reciept, buy two gallons and the price is $2.49, that is why I buy there instead of Albertsons which charges $2.89 per gallon for two gallons.

You are. Oh, unless you mean price controlled milk... ‘cause TJ’s in Atlanta is at $4 a gallon. So if you want to claim price control (ie: communism) reflects the true price of inflation... Glad for you. And will be glad when the rest of us stop paying for your milk welfare.

And?

What if it goes to $8.00?

They know that we thank our lucky starts every day that Obama beat out McCain.

Our need for Christ like perfection has made us their slaves.

They have won so get used to saying- “yes sir Mr. Obama sir.”

Teach your children the Obama song.

Where did you say you bought it? SOMEONE here said Smart & Final...but I don’t remember if it was you. IF IT WAS, they closed the local one...and I’m not sure if the gas price would outweigh the extra for the milk by finding a closer one.

Hmmmmm.....off to google I go...

I pay $4.99 per pound of coffee beans, except when they put it on sale at $3.99. It is a small Middle Eastern market.

The best way of knowing what is going on, is to get 5-10 friends who live in different places around the US, and ask them to, once a week, note the price of several different common things, on an agreed upon list with standard rules. Create a blog for just them and you.

I can remember when the evening broadcast news did something like that (20-30 years ago?). They'd have a standard "shopping cart" full of goods and household items, a typical basket of items for the typical American household, and compare the prices over time.

Another Freeper just informed me that California has price controls on milk. Which means the rest of us schlups pay more so you Californians can get your cheap milk.

How’s welfare for ya? Cause that’s what you got while you spout “milks just fine for me”, it SUCKS for the rest of us.

Glad you are doing well... for the rest of us, IT SUCKS.

So kiss my butt for being a tad upset that my family has to pay more for you to get your cheapo milk. I better never see you whine about welfare or food stamps for the rest of the country while you enjoy your own version of welfare.

I had a bumper crop of peppers last year & that's what I did. I've been using them all winter & still have a little bit left. Be sure to use a heavy-duty ziplock though.
