JW Obtains Gen. El-Sisi’s Radical Thesis from Army War College
Judicial Watch ^ | August 08, 2013

Posted on 08/17/2013 2:51:31 PM PDT by Olog-hai

The Obama administration embraced Egypt’s Defense Minister and coup leader, General Abdel Fatah El-Sisi, despite having first-hand knowledge of his radical Islamist views, documents obtained by Judicial Watch show.

For years the U.S. Army War College (USAWC) has been sitting on a 2006 thesis authored by General El-Sisi while he studied at the Pennsylvania school, the Army’s most senior military educational institution. Judicial Watch obtained the thesis using public-records laws and the paper, El-Sisi’s only published work, is downright alarming.

It reveals his radical vision for democracy in the Middle East by combining Islamism with militarism. …

The general embraces an extremist view of Islam’s role in a democracy and emphasizes the importance of religion to the region’s politics, writing that for democracy to be successful in the Middle East, it must demonstrate respect to the religious nature of the culture and seek public support from religious leaders. …

Did not see this posted. Goes on to outline the support for Sisi by Kerry and Hagel, while both lie about the man’s actual political plans.

Let’s double the military aid to Egypt to $3 Billion.
The 1.5 Billion every year is not giving us control.

Leave my money out of it.

The only help I want to offer is safe haven for Copts in the USA where we could used some solid devout Christianity. Dropping a few hundred thousand Copts in Detroit might actually save the city and cause it to grow. They’re industrious people.

I’d even donate time and money to help them relocate and settle.

The Egyptian government has pledged to rebuild the churches. And don’t forget that the US installed “Islamic democracies” in the two places we controlled, Iraq and Afghanistan, boh of which have constitutions stating that nothing shall disagree with Islamic law. And we approved them, even though many parties there asked us not to do so. But we wanted to prove that we loved Islam.

I think a lot of people, such as the Egyptians, having seen how well the US idea of the “Islamic democracy” worked out - sharia, bombings, oppression and economic dysfunctionality - have changed their minds.

Obama, of course, is still on the side of the MB. It’s only luck and perhaps some rational person in the WH that have kept him from openly supporting them.

The Obama administration is not supporting the military in Egypt. They supported the MB initially and only embraced the inevitable because they have lost all influence.

This is the guy that is now killing the MB nut jobs that are burning down Coptic Churches and killing everyone that is not their flavor of radical Islam.

I don’t care what he wrote. He’s doing the right thing in Egypt for now. I hope he makes good on the promise to rebuild the Coptic churches that the MB are burning.

The Arab world is tribal. You have to get the religious and tribal leader support to get anything done.

I don’t believe the man for a second. He’s not turning his back on his own thesis. Anything Sisi does is for his own benefit and not the West’s.

Sisi could have easily moved the military to protect the Copts against well-anticipated MB attacks, but did not.

The Obama Administration is absolutely supporting the military; they’ve been doing that all along, even in spite of the break between the MB and their military appointees. The administration still steadfastly refuses to say the words “military coup”.

Looks to me like 1 part occupy wall street, 1 part military strong man, 1 part “Caliphist”, and 1 part beneficiary of American dollars.

I also agree that it seems odd that the military that has protected the Copts for years even during conflict, has suddenly lost that ability.

There is no Egyptian government; just military rule and the military’s appointed puppet government. The appointed governmental rulers are themselves radicals. Pledges to rebuild churches that didn’t have to be destroyed in the first place are hollow.

If anyone thinks I agree with what we did in Iraq and Afghanistan in terms of setting up their new governments, please do not be mistaken about the reverse being the case. Much of Iraq’s constitution was recycled from Saddam’s, and the new Islamic Republic of Iraq regards Israel as their number-one enemy in the region. Karzai’s “governance” is all about reconciliation with (essentially) his former employer, the Taliban.t have to be destroyed in the first place are hollow.

If anyone thinks I agree with what we did in Iraq and Afghanistan in terms of setting up their new governments, please do not be mistaken about the reverse being true. Much of Iraq

Hopefully the MB effort to impose Sharia on the Egyptian people against their will has caused El-Sisi to rethink his notion that Islam and individual freedom can harmoniously coexist.

Not for U.S. Aid going to Egypt.

That said, nothing in the general description of his college paper sounds "radical". Sounds more like he was pointing out future problems he anticipated. What is more, it sounds like he was right in anticipating them ahead of time.

This is the guy who may be defending Christians in Egypt.

Gotta beware of the media disinformation supporting Obama's Muslim Brotherhood here.

Well, technically there is an Egyptian government. It may not be the one you want (MB?) but it exists.

I already made it clear that I want neither MB nor Sisi, I thought? They are merely two sides of the same coin.

Of course, our government is populated with madmen that didn’t want Mubarak in and campaigned to get him out.

Little to no hope there.

Remember that Sisi appointed people like ElBaradei to the vice-president position, a man who once expressed willingness to go to war with Israel. (ElBaradei just resigned three days ago over the “violence” of course, which implies sympathy with the MB on some level.)

I highly recommend reading the actual paper, rather than just taking their interpretation of its content. I did, and reached different conclusions.

1) He is a realist, first, closely followed by being a military man. His English language and writing skills read like any number of other (rather dry) military papers that are cranked out by officers at the War College. He also attended the General Command and Staff Course, Joint Command and Staff College. Between the two I would conclude that this is not somebody you want to take for granted.

2) I didn’t see any fanaticism in that paper at all. This is a guy with zero illusions, and he spends a lot of time speculating as to whether the Arab world can handle democracy. And if Arab democracy is different from western democracy, can the West handle it?

Well, please tell me what positive spin could be put on Sisi’s words as quoted by the article:
(The paper) reveals his radical vision for democracy in the Middle East by combining Islamism with militarism. “The challenge that exists is whether the rest of the world will be able to accept a democracy in the Middle East founded on Islamic beliefs,” El-Sisi writes in the 17-page thesis. “Practically speaking, this should not be an issue because Islamic beliefs produce behavior that is more than comparable to other religious behavior.”
That is transparent taqiyyah, meant to insult the people who know what he is blathering about (it is a dig at the Crusades in part, take note) and to pull the wool over the eyes of the “kumbayah” types. He directly insults the USA by claiming that “El-Kalafa” (the Caliphate) is the exact same as the American goal of attaining “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. Even worse, he states that a template like the European Union ought to be used for his version of Islamic “democracy” (socialistic).

Well, the Taliban and 0bastard side with the MB against Sisi.

At least Sisi doesn’t want to burn all the Christian churches in Egypt. So they’re Egyptians, not Americans... There isn’t a third choice here. And Sisi’s a general, not the president there.

Do you think Morsi and the MB is better for Egypt, then?

Thank you for your assessment. I haven’t read the actual paper yet. Was wondering if bits and pieces were taken out of context, etc.
