I also had the immediate reaction that this a fellow looks like he could easily be from *today.*

Now I’m trying to wrap my head around the idea that fashion trends repeat, But really, that hairstyle could be a Seattle based GrungeGuitarist.

And there’s just *something* about his features that looks “modern.”

Amazing.1839! My family (mom’s side) actually had a photography business in the 1850’s-60’s. My great great grand dad was a sea captain. My cousin is the ‘caretaker/curator’ of many fine originals of the ‘Captain’ taken around the world, along with other family members. They are my most prized memories.
