Freeper SunkenCiv used to regularly post fascinating and learned articles on archeologicy and history topics. But no posts from SunkenCiv that I can remember for many months. Does anyone here know what happened?

One of my favorite Freepers was cripplecreek. He would post some great photos and other items and is from my home state. He was not a Trump fan and stopped posting around Inauguration time.
I went to the GOP Briefing Room a couple of weeks ago (first time in about two years) and there he was. They do not have much in the way of postings and comment there but he was one of the more frequent posters.
Loss to me too. We used to have a lot of interesting posters here.
Mob mentality has driven off a lot of old timers over the years.........SAD!

I have been here for 19 years one to three hours a day. Almost daily.
But there is no snap anymore.
The feeds barely move.
I love FR. But it is dying.

I lurked for a while before registering too, but for the life of me, I don’t remember a date when I first discovered FR. I found the link to FR from Drudge. I think the link back then was titled Whitewater Files, or something along those lines. A bunch of us used to frequent an IRC chat room one of the Freepers set up.
It wasn’t a strike, it was a lockout. A year’s worth? Dunno.
No, I’m not a NeverTrumper, nor was I. Like oldtimer, I regarded his initial candidacy as a joke, but started to pay attention to what he was saying and the powerful response from the People, and began to regard him as one of the two candidates in the Republican field that I could support without holding my nose. For a while I thought a Cruz-Trump ticket would work, then as Cruz peaked and faded, a Trump-Cruz ticket. I still think that would have worked out well.
Obviously I wasn’t banned for NeverTrumping, since I wasn’t a NeverTrumper, and in fact was frustrated that it was tolerated here — and still is.
I started a place as PIF noted (thanks PIF) and it was transitioned a few months ago into something called TapaTalk (I believe it’s an Android app, a competitor to things like Twitter). I don’t get on there daily as I should, more like monthly, but it has only a few handfuls of members, along with an unmonitored number of anonymous visitors, and isn’t wide open as FR is, so there are subforums not visible to the casual visitor.
