Book: 'You are the worst man in history'

LONDON -- Many prehistoric Australian aboriginals could have outrun world 100- and 200-meter record-holder Usain Bolt in modern conditions.

Some Tutsi men in Rwanda exceeded the current world high jump record of 2.45 meters during initiation ceremonies in which they had to jump at least their own height to progress to manhood.

Any Neanderthal woman could have beaten former bodybuilder and current California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in an arm wrestle.

These and other eye-catching claims are detailed in a book by Australian anthropologist Peter McAllister entitled "Manthropology" and provocatively sub-titled "The Science of the Inadequate Modern Male".

"If you're reading this then you -- or the male you have bought it for -- are the worst man in history," McAllister writes in the opening sentence of the prologue. "No ifs, no buts -- the worst man, period. ... As a class we are in fact the sorriest cohort of masculine Homo sapiens to ever walk the planet."

Delving into a wide range of source material McAllister finds evidence he believes proves that modern man is inferior to his predecessors in, among other fields, the basic Olympic athletics disciplines of running and jumping.

The gyms are packed with guys with huge arms and even huger guts. They look ridiculous. Working on your bicep? What a waste of energy.

You're right. They should stay at home, indoors; drink beer and eat bacon. Now those guys certainly don't look ridiculois.

"Manthropology"; "His conclusions about the speed of Australian aboriginals 20,000 years ago are based on a set of footprints, preserved in a fossilized claypan lake bed, of six men chasing prey."

Who gives a flying you know what about a bunch of gym faggots? I’ve been working out steadily since I was 15- I don’t need to make a big show of it.

Most desk-bound males are of average intelligence, capable of reading, walking -- at least to a refrigerator and lifting 20 pounds. These abilities are sufficient to overcome knuckle-draggers living in a pristine would-be-world, who are idolized in the story above. Even aging, fat, unathletic cubicle bound males would be able to "overcome" their braichiating yester-year counterparts and do so at several hundred yards.

An inexpensive metal lathe can be purchased for less than $1000.00 US. A fluted gun drill can be purchased for $150.00. 22 inches of Cro-Moly 4045 barrel steel can be purchased easily or hardened axle rod steel purchased from a junkyard could be used in a pinch. Lathe milling attachment plans can be Googled and other rifle parts can be easily manufactured by hand. Parts made and assembled along with ammo would be game, set and match.

All in all, troglodytes from our past as described above wouldn't stand a chance against modern man.

I like the way you think. Sadly, the way things are going, all of the under 30 machinists will be located in China soon.

Ludicrous.

Human beings have never been as healthy, tall, well nourished, and as intelligent as today (intelligence is correlated with height, nourishment and health).

Human size and health did ‘take a hit’ from our early hunter gatherer fore-bearers, when they became civilized and started city living that was rife with food deprivation and rampant disease - but 1000 city folk can and did hunt down and kill those 100 healthy hunter gatherers that the same region would support - so hunting/gathering went the way of the dodo for most human societies.

But the food deprivation and rampant diseases of city living have largely been eliminated in modern nations.

The “giant” Vikings were shorter than your average American male. I am 6'3” and would have been a “giant” back in the Middle Ages.

"Gym faggots"...sounds like someone is a little insecure (and angry) about working out around other people. Guess he never had a coach.
