What Is Up With Free Republic Dissing Mitt Romney??
Free REpublic | 11/27/2009 | Vanity

Posted on 11/27/2009 8:30:40 PM PST by Noob1999

Why is every single thread that I log onto this day after Thanksgiving, have a picture of Mitt Romney, that then trashes him??

Does JimRob and this website condone the Palin trashers, and try to create a Mitt backlash, to trash him?

Does this website wish to promote a Republican/Conservative candidate who has no real business experience, like our current loser-in-chief, Zer0?

Mitt has problems, as do each and every Pubbie, Conservative, or RAT potential to lead this once great US!

Back off on the hits to Romney, (or maybe do you see him as a threat, much like the RATs see Palin as a threat??)

Zero will have at least 50% of the 2012 vote! Pubbies will fight for the rest.
+
Who is our best hope to restore capitalism, while capturing more than 50% of the vote??

By this reasoning, apparently nobody.

I think you need to calm down. Then, after you've done that, let's see something with some substance - something that will convince the conservatives that currently find him unacceptable. Until we've done that, he's in the same boat as he was in the last primaries.

And only then, can we start promoting him as being someone who can "capture more than 50% of the vote".

So far, I know of only one candidate from last time around who generated true excitement among conservatives. Hopefully she will run. I grant there could be others (the Marxist-in-Chief was hardly on the map by this point in '05).

I went and re-read your post. I think we found a discussion point:

It’s about evil socialism versus capitalism.

How is RomneyCare about capitalism instead of 'evil socialism'? Discuss.

And Romney can count on my fiercest opposition.”

There’s that negativity I posted about, seems it would be more productive to vigorously support the candidate of your choice.

"FR, don’t take intractable sides three years before the vote!"

We face an intractable foe.

As Ayn Rand said (through one of her characters) - "In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit."

(And Sock Puppets, be they posters on FR or opportunistic politicians, can compromise all they want.)

There are huge negatives to Mitt Romney and I fail to see much positive about him from a conservative perspective.

The only thing I can see in his favor is possibly business experience. But let me ask one thing. Did he leave Mass. with a budget surplus? Did he cut taxes there?

Since he’s anti-gun and pro-socialized medicine I could never support him for president in any case. He may be slightly better than obama but would be horrible for the Republican party.

Yeah, OK.

Now about your plan to replace democrats with RINOs. Romney tried to run to the left of Ted Kennedy in the senate race.

Then as governor, later, he banned assault weapons, saying that those evil guns are only good for killing people (that’s why so many die at Camp Perry, I guess). Plus a host of other things.

As president or senator, he’d be just as liberal and as far, or further to the left, than he is now.

Plus, he lies to convince people he’s really a conservative, and that is totally unacceptable to me- he’ll lie about something, or anything, else to get what he wants (like letting his staff use phony badges to get access to venues, for one thing).

My point was that if ashepard is still active you may get an answer from him, then that would mean he is not ashepard.

OK, that still does not explain why you didn't identify yourself in your tag-line or in your Vanity Post as "aSheppard" while posting a "Why does FreeRepublic trash Mitt Romney?" screed.

You obviously already knew the answer and only intended to be a subversive disruptor.

Now you seem to act the rude pseudo-victim when caught out.

While sound in theory, in reality, it is how we got into this mess. Oooh, support your candidate. Sorry, I don’t work that way, I support my cause, and the candidate can campaign for my support. I’m tired of playing the hold my nose game. If Romney wants my vote, he can earn it. He can repudiate all that he has done wrong, he can go after the liberals again and again on these mindless expansions of government. He can repudiate his own words during a Republican presidential debate where he put forth the concept that the government is the answer, not the problem.

He won’t do that, so I’ll attack him like I attack Obama, Pelosi and the rest of the liberal clown squad. He gets no special exemption because he might be a part time conservative - though I’ve yet to actually hear a conservative opinion come from his lips.

If you are one of his supporters, then good luck to you. Expect to find me and hundreds of others trashing your candidate over and over again, using his own positions, his own actions and his own words.

Myself, I’ll stand against anyone, like Obama, like Pelosi, like Romney, who thinks that Momma Government can treat all our ills, because we’re too stupid to do it ourselves.

................Either way, in my dictionary, that’s the definition of LOSER.........................

In my dictionary, a LOSER is one who cannot beat the current Socialist/Communist in Charge, ZER0.

I’m not really persuaded as to one’s politics, abortion, gun rights, or any other issue, other than getting this total A-Hole out of office.

At this stage - three years into the future, please don’t write off anyone that can ignite more than 50% of the electorate.

Just get this disaster out of office.

Now, If the freaks in SF can dump Pelosi; the beautiful folks in LA dump PigNose Waxman; kick Reid out of the casino in 2010; get rid of Dodd and Bwarney; then I’ll take a different stance looking into 2012 - after 2010.

But, right now, every pubbie, keep their powder dry!

“Since he’s anti-gun and pro-socialized medicine I could never support him for president in any case.”

This is exactly what I was referring to, you spent your entire post telling me why you don’t/won’t support Romni yet I haven’t a clue who you DO/WOULD support, nor why.

Right after the election of 2004, the election of 2008 was being fought on these pages, much as 2012 is now. I too am more concerned about 2010 and stopping 0bama or at least slowing the communist bastard down.

If I had to choose a presidential candidate right now, Romney wouldn’t even be on my list. Sarah Palin looks good but we don’t know at this point who will be on the national scene for 2012 but I do know that I will vote for a conservative, even if I have to write in my own name.

I lost sight of that in the last election and voted for McCain, mainly because Sarah Palin was on the ticket, it won’t happen again.

That he might possibly win a majority vote over this disasterous Socialist/Communist current administration???

Great! Let him run against BHO on the 'rat ticket! Those libs that see their error now will gladly welcome him as a candidate!

I see what you're getting at.

You're willing to put up with a partial A-hole over a total A-hole.

If that's the best argument you can come up with to promote Romney's candidacy...

Once again, you want me to play the game.

It’s not a game, it’s my freedom, it’s my nation, it’s my family. To what would be the point to get Obama out of office, and to put in someone who’s not just about equally liberal on most issues I care about, but has the skills that Obama lacks in actually carrying out his desires?

If McCain was president right now, amnesty and the health care monstrosity would have already been passed. Sure, GM probably wouldn’t have become Government Motors, and the needed troops in Afghanistan would have been already sent, but I think we’d be in a worse mess today than we presently are in, simply because McCain would know how to sway the mostly liberal to join the cause.

So, no, my top priority is not getting Obama out of the White House, my top priority is supporting ANYONE, candidate or not, who speaks up in a conservative voice and tells the Empress Pelosi that she’s wearing no clothes.

My worst enemies are those who can advance the liberal agenda. Romney’s already instituted mandatory healthcare and signed into law homosexual shacking up. Accomplishments the dreaded Obama can’t even come close to laying claim to.

Nobody is writing anybody off.

What is Mitt Romney doing that right now that we should find inspiring?

I guarantee you, even if Sarah Palin didn't have a book out she'd be attracting thousands of people to hear her speak.

Can you say the same for Mitt Romney or Mike Huckaby or any other potential candidate?

Are we to be faulted for being so gung-ho for someone who is so gung-ho herself?

If Mitt Romney can't inspire people to camp out just to meet him THREE YEARS before an election, what makes you think he'll be able to do so ONE MONTH before an election?
