“Sunday’s Socialist Triumph”
by Tony Blankley

SNIPPET: “So, considering the rhetorical onslaught that is about to be unleashed on the public, to paraphrase (and with the deepest apologies to) Winston Churchill on the occasion of the fall of France in June 1940:

What House Minority Leader John A. Boehner has called the Battle of Capitol Hill is over. I expect that the Battle of the Electorate is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of a nonsocialist America. Upon it depends our own American way of life and the long continuity of our institutions and our history.”

SNIPPET: “The Democratic congressional leadership seems to have a stunningly insulting view of their potential voters’ intelligence. But on such a basis is the battle for the minds of the voters joined.

Never will the wisdom and common sense of the American public have been put to a more fateful test. The organized opposition to the bill must do its best. But, as fitting to a constitutional republic, the fate of American freedom lies with the people.”

I will boil Blankley’s comments down even more:

If the Republicans do not regain the House and Senate and kill, bludgeon, sue, sabotage, DEFUND, destroy, incinerate, repeal this law then baby boomers and seniors will be SCREWED and have a miserable existance in poverty until the day they die. because Obama will steal their wealth next - EVERY penny. This is a fact.

Do not listen to idiot RINO John Cornyn from Texas who says we do not need to repeal. This IDIOT is all the more reason of a McCain has to go because he is even worse.

Landmark Legal Foundation to File Suit to Stop President’s Health Plan if ‘Slaughter Rule’ is Used

(LEESBURG, VA, MARCH 17, 2010)…Mark R. Levin, president of Landmark Legal Foundation, today issued a warning to the leadership of the U.S. House of Representatives about the possible use of the so-called “deem and pass,” “self-executing,” or “Slaughter Rule” to enact H.R. 3590, the legislative version of President Obama’s healthcare proposal that has been previously approved by the Senate. If this tactic is employed, Landmark will immediately sue the President, Attorney General Eric Holder and other relevant cabinet members to prevent them from instituting this unconstitutional contrivance.

“Landmark has already prepared a lawsuit that will be filed in federal court the moment the House acts. Such a brazen violation of the core functions of Congress simply cannot be ignored. Article I, Section 7 of the Constitution is clear respecting the manner in which a bill becomes law. Members are required to vote on this bill, not claim they did when they didn’t. The Speaker of the House and her lieutenants are temporary custodians of congressional authority. They are not empowered to do permanent violence to our Constitution.”

(A draft of the complaint Landmark will file is available at:

Sarah Palin: Don’t Get Demoralized! Get Organized! Take Back the 20!

Sarah Palin’s Notes
Don’t Get Demoralized! Get Organized! Take Back the 20!

With the president signing this unwanted and “transformative” government takeover of our health care system today with promises impossible to keep, let’s not get discouraged. Don’t get demoralized. Get organized!

We’re going to reclaim the power of the people from those who disregarded the will of the people. We’re going to fire them and send them back to the private sector, which has been shrinking thanks to their destructive government-growing policies. Maybe when they join the millions of unemployed, they’ll understand why Americans wanted them to focus on job creation and an invigorated private sector. Come November, we’re going to print pink slips for members of Congress as fast as they’ve been printing money.

We’re paying particular attention to those House members who voted in favor of Obamacare and represent districts that Senator John McCain and I carried during the 2008 election. Three of these House members are retiring – from Arkansas’s 2nd district, Indiana’s 8th district, and Tennessee’s 6th district – but we’ll be working to make sure that those who replace them are Commonsense Conservatives. The others are running for re-election, and we’re going to hold them accountable for this disastrous Obamacare vote. They are: Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ-1), Harry E. Mitchell (AZ-5), Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-8), John Salazar (CO-3), Betsy Markey (CO-4). Allen Boyd (FL-2), Suzanne M. Kosmas (FL-24), Baron P. Hill (IN-9), Earl Pomeroy (ND-AL), Charlie Wilson (OH-6), John Boccieri (OH-16), Kathy Dahlkemper (PA-3), Christopher Carney (PA-10), John M. Spratt, Jr. (SC-5), Tom Perriello (VA-5), Alan B. Mollohan (WV-1), and Nick J. Rahall II (WV-3).

We’ll aim for these races and many others. This is just the first salvo in a fight to elect people across the nation who will bring common sense to Washington. Please go to sarahpac.com and join me in the fight.

Stand tall, America. Real change is coming!

- Sarah Palin

“New Column: The Beginning of the End or of Rebirth?”
by David Limbaugh

SNIPPET: “The Democrats’ passage of socialized medicine Sunday night will spell either the beginning of the end of this great nation or the beginning of the rebirth of its freedom. The choice is still in the hands of Americans.”

SNIPPET: “If the Democrats’ motives were honorable, they wouldn’t be so deceptive in everything they do, particularly in their endless drive to impose Obamacare on this nation against the unmistakable and undeniable will of the people.”

Washington, D.C., Mar 22 -

U.S. Representative Michele Bachmann (MN-06) issued the following statement today after introducing legislation to repeal the Democrats’ government takeover of health care:

“It’s no secret, President Obama and Democrat leaders have ignored the will of the people and have chosen to ram through their trillion-dollar health care bill despite the American people’s overwhelming objection to it.

“It’s future generations, our children and grandchildren who will pay the price for our government’s arrogance and recklessness, and the American people won’t ever forget the irresponsible actions of this Administration and Democratic Majority. After all, government answers to the people, not the other way around. I’m asking my colleagues to join me in repealing this monstrosity of a bill.”

Hum. Nice.

But my nominee for best vintage performance has to go to The Who’s mini opera: “A Quick One”.

The performance is 6:30 into The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus here:

I don’t condone anything every done by this band in the past present or future but they DO really rock on this video.

Free Americans Will Prevail
Connelly Blog ^ | March 23, 2010 | Michael Connelly
Posted on March 23, 2010 10:54:19 PM PDT by Irisshlass

“It is the beginning of the winter of 1777 and 12,000 ragged and ill equipped men, the remnants of what appeared to be a thoroughly defeated Continental army, followed General George Washington into a winter encampment in a place called Valley Forge. They had little in the way of food or warm clothing and 2,000 of them die that winter while the British rejoice over the apparent defeat of the rebel army. Yet, this battered, but proud, group of Patriots will emerge in the spring of 1778 and continue the fight and ultimately defeat the British and establish a new and free nation.”

“Now we have another premature celebration of the demise of America going on. The so-called “progressives” in the Congress and the Obama administration are celebrating the fact that they have successfully bypassed the Constitution and undermined American Democracy by passing the Healthcare Reform Bill that is designed to change our country forever into a socialist nation with a massive government that controls our lives and limits our individual freedoms.

Well, I have some bad news for all of the socialists, or progressives, or whatever you choose to call yourselves this week, you have made a huge mistake.”

Idea: Citizens Take Oath to Constitution to Protect and Defend

Posted on March 23, 2010 10:01:37 AM PDT by Heartlander2

In Colorado, during a Tea Party protest at the state capitol during the Health Care debate last Sunday, a vet lead all of us (enmasse) in an oath similar to the ones taken by members of the armed services and congress, raising our hands in allegiance to the Constitution to support and defend. At our largest upcoming Tea Party gathering in Colorado (Tax Day Tea Party), we are considering using the standard oath, led by a vet and asking all participating citizens to raise their right hand while making the oath. The “office” referred to in the oath would be one of “American Patriot”.

This could be a good commitment for all who attend gatherings nationwide and could be an effective statement of our resolve as patriots. Thoughts?

I, (state your name), do solemnly swear (or affirm), that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter, So help me God.

Yes, it's from an Obama speech, but truly I do believe we can apply it here:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2478287/posts?page=40#40

"There will be difficult days ahead. But let us always remember the lesson of this day — and the lesson of history — that we, as a people, do not shrink from a challenge."

Thank God this civil war is non-violent. But the fact is that the Left and the rest of the country share almost no values. The American value system and the leftist value system are irreconcilable. If the Left wins, American values lose. If American values win, the Left loses.

After Sunday’s vote, for the first time in American history, one could no longer confidently believe that the American system will prevail. And if we don’t fight for it, we don’t deserve it.”

March 23, 2010
“Steely Determination”
Jed Gladstein

SNIPPET: “In effect, the Congressman is saying that the American people are acting like angry children in a fit of pique, and that they will get over it by November.

That point of view is consistent with the attitude of a political elite that thinks it governs because it is superior to those whom it governs. Down through history, we have seen many such elites. In the Twentieth Century, the worst of them were the National Socialist Party in Germany, the Fascist Party in Italy, and the Communist Party in the Soviet Union and China. Each of those parties grew government by diminishing personal liberty. Each of them had an explanation, a rationale, and an ideology for doing it.

In the United States, however, it is the people who reign supreme, not the government. This is a country founded on the principle of individual liberty, born out of a rebellion against tyrannical government, nourished to maturity in the crucible of capitalism, and preserved with the blood of Patriots willing to fight for the right to become and remain a free people. So, something tells me that the American people are not simply angry. Indeed, I suspect that in November the Democrats will meet up with the steely determination of the American people to regain the liberty that was stolen from them last Sunday.”

“Liberty’s Activists vs. ObamaCare”

SNIPPET: “A profound connection is taking place between ordinary citizens and their favored representatives, a feat the left cannot match by design.”

March 23, 2010 - by Richard Pollock

SNIPPET: “But another sort of history was made this weekend as well. Few in Washington, D.C., have experienced the kind of electrifying atmosphere that lit up the nation’s capital in the final two days before House Democrats prevailed shortly before midnight on Sunday. Washington is typically lousy with professional lobbyists and special interest groups. Washington is not accustomed to the citizen activists who descended there on Saturday morning. The city is not used to seeing a visceral link between ordinary citizens and the minority of legislators fighting for them.”

SNIPPET: “The left, which sought to organize “ordinary citizens” using such teachers as Saul Alinsky, has rarely captured the imagination of a plurality of the public. All demonstrations were tough to organize, and people did not instinctively respond to their entreaties. That’s why community organizing was so tough. Over the years, leftist activist organizations found themselves with many bureaucratic entities, such as unions and women’s groups. They could mobilize activists, but not regular citizens.

The type of “activist” that has emerged on the tea party side is what the left has never been able to tap: ordinary people.”

“SENATE REPUBLICANS HIGHLIGHT THE DISASTER THAT IS OBAMACARE”
March 23, 2010 Posted by John at 7:56 PM

SNIPPET: “We started to see the answer today, as Republicans proposed a series of amendments and made motions that were designed to expose the corruption at the heart of the Democratic Party’s legislation.”

SNIPPET: “Senator Judd Gregg offered an amendment that highlights Obama’s double-counting of alleged Medicare savings. His amendment would prohibit the government from using the Medicare cuts in Obamacare to pay for new spending in the underlying bill. Rather, those cuts would have to be used (as the administration has inconsistently promised) to extend the life of Medicare.

Senator Mike Crapo will offer my favorite motion—to commit the reconciliation bill to the Senate Finance Committee with instructions to ensure that the bill will not result in tax increases for anyone earning under $250,000 a year, as promised by Obama. The Democrats can’t agree to this, of course, since everyone knows Obamacare will increase taxes much more broadly.

Other such amendments and motions are also being offered.”

Today marks the 235th anniversary of Patrick Henry’s famous speech, when he proclaimed “Give me liberty, or give me death.” This sentiment represents a legacy much older and nobler than tyrannical healthcare legislation and should inspire our efforts to restore liberty.”

SNIPPET: “Americans should remember his courage and strive to revive our commitment to liberty and self-government.”

Every opponent of this bill should begin over-using the system once the “benefits” kick in. If we all clogged the clinics, doctors’ offices. ER’s and hospitals in a mass movement the funding required to support it would bankrupt the system almost immediately.

“Dates That Destroyed America”
by Chuck Baldwin

SNIPPET: “People concerned about the future of freedom and prosperity in America should line up quickly and demand that their respective State legislatures and governors resist this new health care bill, even to the point of refusing to implement it in their states. More than 30 states are threatening to take the health care bill to court. But states must do more than that. They must follow the lead of the State of Virginia and pass legislation refusing to comply with it. Yes, I’m saying it: it is time for another State rebellion! If states do not stand up and draw their lines in the sand now, it will be forever too late.”

“Long Train Running 1971” [Doobie Brothers]

Video Description - Quote:

February 24, 2008

This show was recorded on June 14th of 1971 at the West Filmore in San Fransisco. It is a very early version of the song, not long after Tom Johnston started to ad-lib the words.

Down around the corner,
half a mile from here,
you see them old trains running
and you watch them disappear
Without love, where would you be now?

Ya know I saw miss lucy,
saw her die today
brass ring on her finger
and the last words that she say
Without love, where would you be now?

“Republican Lawmaker Expects Supreme Court to Decide Constitutionality of Health Care Law’s Individual Mandate”
Wednesday, March 24, 2010
By Nicholas Ballasy, Video Reporter

SNIPPET: “(CNSNews.com) - Reps. Jack Kingston (R-Ga.) and Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) told CNSNews.com that the Constitution does not give Congress the authority to require individuals to buy health insurance, as mandated by the new health care bill that was signed into law on Tuesday.”

SNIPPET: ““It is not present in the Constitution,” said Rep. Bachmann. “In fact, there’s tremendous Constitutional problems with the bill. There is no precedent for requiring an American citizen, as a condition of citizenship, to purchase a product or service against their will because government mandates they must buy it.”

Rep. Kingston agreed with Bachmann and predicted that the constitutionality of the individual mandate will be decided by the Supreme Court.

“I don’t think that it’s in the Constitution, and I think there are going to be a lot of lawsuits to contest that point,” he told CNSNews.com.”
