I've had these pictures sat on my PC for years so i've finally got around to hosting them. I'm slowly captioning them too, based on translations from a French Flickr account. I think he copied them from somewhere else so i don't feel too bad about using them. I'm not copying word for word anyway.
Anyway, hope some of you enjoy them !

Wow! ping for later because those are really good!
Awesomeness, thy name is Stolly!
Thanks for putting this together.
My daughter and I went on a school trip this past Spring Break to WWII sites in Germany and France. After Germany, we spent 3 days in northern France visiting the American cemetary, Omaha & Utah beaches, Point du Hoc, and what’s left of the man-made port in Arromanches. We were based in a hotel in Caretan, which is centrally located. Then we were off to Paris for two days before coming home.
Amazing what you can pack into 9 days. Great trip!
Fantastic photos, and thanks for posting. Somewhere there’s a sysadmin who’s wondering what just clobbered his server. ;-)
Way cool bookmark.
Thanks for putting in the effort.

As a historian, and WWII buff, THANK YOU!
Wow! It really makes you think about these guys as young men. Many never made it home. Of those that did, most have died by now, including my father, some uncles. My father only said that he fixed airplanes in France.

Another BTT. LOL! Looks like the box is holding up pretty well.

These are great. I think you need to get them properly recorded and digitised...and I would suggest getting in touch with some of the worlds military museums - they would be very interested in many of these, I’m sure. As a matter of fact, as I working on a WW2 book, I wouldn’t mind the rights to reproduce a few of these!
Great effort sir!!
Very interesting. Cannot wait to compare to Google Earth pictures.
Many of those photos are numbered in the corners, and some have Signal Corps watermarks. That suggests the origin of these photos is from within the US military itself. In general, I believe such photos do not have copyright issues.
