Ancient tablet suggests Noah’s Ark was round

LONDON — It was a vast boat that saved two of each animal and a handful of humans from a catastrophic flood.

But forget all those images of a long vessel with a pointy bow — the original Noah’s Ark, new research suggests, was round.

A recently deciphered 4,000-year-old tablet from ancient Mesopotamia — modern-day Iraq — reveals striking new details about the roots of the Old Testament tale of Noah. It tells a similar story, complete with detailed instructions for building a giant round vessel known as a coracle — as well as the key instruction that animals should enter “two by two.”

What’s a cubit?

I don't know. I think it is about 18 inches.

If the Earth is 6,245 years old or something around that number (consult with Harold Camping followers here), then what was the year of Noah’s Ark?

In North Vietnam, round boats are commonly used as fishing boats.

What’s a cubit?

Well, Noah, it's between a squarbit and a tesseractbit.

Want to get it out of my driveway? I gotta get to work!

A little bit more than a henbit but not quite a tribble.

Which eliminates it from being a primary source. Jesus authenticated the Torah. What else ya got? I

Depends on long or short cubit. Short cubit was about 44.5 cm and long cubit was about 51.8 cm

But those are metric cubits. Then there's Imperial cubits, Avoirdupois cubits, and troy cubits. Who can be sure what God meant?

I don’t think that was Noah’s boat. It was some other fellow.

I will have to go with the biblical description, though I agree that it wouldn’t have to do anything but float. It wouldn’t have been a good idea to have a vessel float out to the middle of the ocean when the waters receded. It was an up and down journey.

Re How long can you tread water? As long as it takes to see “Waterworld” 10 times.

After that, you just stop treading and caring!
