13,500-Year-Old Tool-Making Site Uncovered in Idaho Forest
Western Digs ^ | May 8, 2014 | Blake De Pastino

The prevalence of Western Stemmed Tradition artifacts in the Northwest, known locally as Windust, also suggests that its members may represent a separate wave of human migration to this part of North America, she said, with migrants having come from the north not by ice-free corridors near the middle of the continent, as some models maintain, but by way of the Pacific coast.

“This is supported by the archaeological record in the Clearwater River region, where the earliest material found is associated with Windust,” Longstaff said.

“Kelly Forks is another of the sites added to the record which potentially contains material left by the first people to call the Northwest home.”

The chemistry of the points also reveals clues about the travels and trade that the ancient hunter-gatherers engaged in.

Using a technique known as x-ray fluorescence, Longstaff and her colleagues were able to compare the Kelly Forks tools with geological deposits known to have been used for tool-making.

Results showed that more than a quarter of the artifacts sampled were a type of volcanic rock called vitrophyre from a quarry about 50 kilometers to the south.

But nearly as many were fashioned out of rock from a deposit across the Bitterroot Mountains in what’s now Montana, and some samples hailed from as far away as central Oregon.

Really? Exactly 13,500 years? Not a year younger or older? How was it dated? Show me the proof, I am from Missouri.

This dating always drives me nuts....Only because I took my carving tools and engraved an old rock along a highway in Virginia in 1989. I used my initials and a 1789 date.

Saying someone finds it 100 years hence, it is absolutely impossible that they say it was done in 1989.

Great post! Thanks!

Now if they could just excavate sites along the coast under 200-300 feet of "global warming" water from the last Ice Age, maybe we could finally solve the riddle of the peopling of the Americas.

A reasonably sane Archeologist would also note that the 1789 rock was right beside the shoulder of a road from 1989, and conclude that it was rather dubious.

See, you shoulda written “1989, B.C.” on the rock. That would’ve blown their minds.

Well, now, I ain’t sayin’ yes or no, but I will point out that the further off US 95 you get, the more nekkid fellers you meet trying to hunt mastodon with an atlatl. Fish and Game sez they’re Shriners but I gotta wonder...

You’re just showing off your willful ignorance and stupidity, because there are a variety of means by which your inscription could be dated more closely to 1989 than 1789. The means for doing so widely range from studies of the algae growing on the rock and within the inscriptions to studies of differences in the radionucleotides in the different samples of the rock and associated microbial lifeforms.

.....solve the riddle of the peopling of the Americas...

Riddle? What riddle?

Little known scientific fact:
The North American Continent was peopled by people from South America. Just because it was in prehistoric times does not mean there was not a government effort to end discrimination... and even then, the fossil record shows no government effort to control the borders.

Furthermore, Dr. Louis Farrakhan has informed me that those early undocumented migrants were originally from Africa.

There is a large glass flow about 70 miles below the Ore Cal border. It is something to see. You can see where the Central Asians Made tools. When I went to school the holly grail was 8,500 years. Now it is 13,500. If you people don't know, they take the age of the dirt at that level and use that as the general age. The people lived in the flood plane so after 19'500 years the rivers would have carved the banks back and forward.

With a little more digging, we may find that the Chicago was the location of the first appearance of man.

Then they migrated to Africa and around the world.

That will supply an infinite number of dead Chicago democrats to vote and win every election.
