TERRI'S FIGHT
(Daily Thread 2 - October 30-31, 2003)
Link back to thread 1 - October 29, 2003

Contained in thread 1:

Summary of Terri's bone scan, transcript from "On the Record" response from Bobby Schindler and Attny. Pat Anderson to Michael Schiavo's appearance on Larry King Live, link to where to search public records for Pinellas County (for a fee), information on Terri's Lights, link to transcript from Larry King Live interview with Michael Schiavo and George Felos, synopsis of radio interview with Michael Schiavo's brother in Pennsylvania, summary of interview with Pat Anderson on Michael Reagan's show, portion of testimony from Schiavo medical malpractice trial, some links to information on the Florida death cult, names and email address for the Florida Supreme Court, information on previous GAL, Richard Pearse, Jr., information on GAL currently being proposed Jay Wolfson and links back to earlier threads on the case. Of course this overview isn't comprehensive, but my main point in this section is to provide easy reference to what could be important information. Also, links to other websites focusing on Terri's fight can be found in thread 1, here.

Thanks to everyone for your contributions and for your dedication to this fight.

This thread serves as a place for posting all new general information and references, along with links following Terri's case, plus information on cable news and talk radio shows dealing with the issue, court cases and press releases. This is also the place to post contact information, prayers and general discussion.

FL_Engineer suggested that if you have something that qualifies as BREAKING NEWS or FRONT PAGE NEWS, please post it on a separate thread in that category in order to give it maximum exposure and then post a link to the article/thread here so that it will be included in the next update of links. Also, if you post links to articles from original sources and there is also a thread on FR, please link to the FR thread. Many original links become corrupt over time and we want to be able to access the information at will.

He did say that. But he sued Prudential just 3 months after Terri's collapse. See post 120 on this thread. That's why I'm pretty sure that Prudential was Terri's employer. You see how Michael likes to take one small piece of info and make it sound like something other than what it really is? This guy is the proverbial compulsive liar (MHO). The malpractice case was finished in Nov. 1992. He got the $ by Jan/Feb. 1993. DNR order by May 1993. What a loving and committed-to-his-marriage-vows husband (BARF)!

Thank you!

Could such a weight loss also be tied to depression, anti-anxiety drugs, living with a critical ABUSIVE husband , who obviously deems perfection as extremely important

You bring up a good point. From all accounts, Terri was extremely self-conscious about her weight long before she met Michael. If Michael has an abusive, controlling personality (and I believe he does), Terri's weight would've been a huge weapon in his systematic campaign to devalue her.

Anecdotally, I knew a woman in a marriage that had some similarities to what we've read about Terri and Michael. She was of average weight, but her husband continually berated her about being fat and unattractive to him. When she'd try to lose weight to please him, he wouldn't acknowledge her weight loss until suddenly one day he'd bark, "You're too skinny! What happened to your a**! You have no a**!" Then she'd start gaining the weight back. Again, no comment, until suddenly "You're so fat! You don't care how you look to me!" During the last month of this marriage, as the wife was taking furtive steps towards getting a divorce, she became nearly unable to eat at all due to her depression. I watched her lose 30 pounds in one month with no intention on her part.

IF Terri did have a potassium imbalance, and IF it was caused from rapid, sustained weight loss, I wouldn't automatically ass/u/me she was bulimic, nor would I assume the potassium imbalance was the sole cause of her cardiac arrest.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that You are drawing so many more to Terri's side. We thank You that You are calling learned men, schooled in the law, with hearts so tender for life. How gracious You are, Father, that you continue to show us that each is precious to you, even when this nation has wiped away millions of the unborn. O God, would that we could bring back that reverence we once had .. forgive us, for we have grown callous. Let us not be that way again, but give us eyes to see as You see .. You, who knew each of us before the foundation of the world.

Father, we thank You for placing Terri before us .. thank You for the love of parents who refuse to relinquish their child to the pit of hell. By the Power of Your protection, Father, may nothing come near to harm this mother's child. You have sustained her when the world knew her not .. You have communed with her when the world spoke not .. You have been her comfort when the world walked away. By Your grace, Lord, may we redeem the time .. by petition, Lord, we seek Terri's release .. by prayer, Lord, we acknowledge that You are Sovereign.

May the plans of the enemy fall apart .. may the words that come from lying lips be transparent in deceit .. call the multitudes to hear, Father, and may the Spirit of Discernment fall upon the people. Reveal, I pray, the very presence of evil and stir up good people to rescue this child from the jaws of hell.

Heavenly Father, I pray that You will do a mighty work within the judicial system, for so often the courts fail the people and do not render justice. May the courts hear the cries of the people and may righteous rule prevail.

Whisper assurance to dear Terri, Lord .. may the time of her release be soon at hand. Vindicate this mother and father, and sister and brother ~ raise her up and put to flight those who would end her life. May they repent, while there is still time. Give renewed strength to Terri's legal team for they have contended with the forces of evil for so long. Thank You for these dear people ~ may Your richest blessings fall upon them in abundance, for they have been faithful to their task.

We rejoice in Your presence, dear Lord ~ for You are Creator God, King of Kings and Lord of Lords ~ and yet You are here in the midst of us. We worship and adore You, bowing down before you, Songs of praises singing, Hallelujahs ringing ~ Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Amen ...

>>"I race out there and Terri was laying in the hall. I went down to get her."

I'm confused. This makes it sound like she's at the bottom of the stairs. "I went DOWN..."
Yet here: http://www.thrownback.blogspot.com/ (scroll down a bit to Schindlers respond to Schiavo's LK) Terri's father says: "When Bobby arrived at their place...he found Terri lying face down in the hallway, with her feet over the threshold of the doorway, as though she had been coming out of the bedroom."
So does "I went down to get her" mean MS went down the hall? If she was half in the bedroom, where was he, sleeping in another bedroom? If she didn't fall down stairs, how did she get the bruises and fractures?

I just found this statement by Felos in an article. Doesn't it seem like Felos is just making this into a bigger and bigger can of worms? How could Michael possibly remember Terri's exact words so long after she said them, when he couldn't remember them when they were putting the feeding tube in? I'm sorry, I just don't buy this. If it were true then I guess Michael would just have to let Terri die if she ever got a broken ankle. I needed lots of help for two months when I broke mine last year. I couldn't take care of myself, and I depended on several people to care for me. If Felos actually uttered these words in a courtroom, it should have to have been thrown out just on the basis of being a ridiculous statement. He was overindulging himself. My opinion.

"Terri Schiavo didn't say, 'If I'm in a vegetative condition, I don't want to be kept alive artificially,'" Felos claimed. "She said, 'If I'm in a condition where I can't care for myself, I'm dependent on the care of others, I don't want to be kept alive artificially.'"

There had to be a lot more. There were settlements with other parties and he did receive seperate damages for pain and suffering. They did appeal the jury reduction. What was the result of that appeal?

Terri was referred to as a disabled person instead of persistant vegetative state. And in the LA Times no less, the one paper I would have figured would have gotten it wrong. Will wonders never cease.

Yes, and "Republican" (or Democrat) judges like George W. Greer don't like their caseload judgments questioned, do they? These judges think in many cases that they have "godlike" qualities of "compassion" and "wisdom." And many Americans buy such nonsense, citing even "separation of powers" to justify such judicial chicanery.

This woman in the Bible study group must be a fraud, for she has a heart of stone, doesn't she? She does not want to be disproved in her prejudgment. Is she a woman of excessive pride, which the Bible says "goeth before destruction"? Imagine someone in a Bible study group not wanting to pray for the most vulnerable in society. Was she a Clintoid, or do you know her "politics"?

The LA Times should get some credit for printing the article, but their reporter didn't write it. The article is written by Steve Drake with 'Not Dead Yet', a group sympathetic to the causes of the disabled and opposed to the euthanasia and assisted suicide movement.

Tonight at my women's Bible Study, I asked for prayer for Terri. One woman stiffened up and when I was explaining Terri's situation to those that did not know, this one gal told me that I don't have all the facts, that Terri is in a PVS state.

Even if she would be in a PVS, this does not preclude her from prayer! This woman could certainly join in prayer for wisdom and right judgment in this situation, and for Terri's spiritual well-being. Even in PVS, Terri's spirit lives on. Certainly Terri's family is in need of prayer support at this time. I also think the woman who "stiffened up" is in need of prayer as well, that she have an open mind and heart towards the needs of others. It will take continued courage for you to bring the needs of Terri, her family, and the disabled, to the attention of your Bible study for on-going prayer. Thank you for posting this.

Even so, it's amazing that the LA Times carried it. Maybe they're beginning to catch on once Arnold got elected? People want a little more perspective on the world than the Times skewed version every day. Kudos to them for picking it up!
